  • This paper describes a spread-spectrum clock generation method by utilizing a ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ digital PLL (DPLL) which is solely based on binary phase detection and does not require a linear time-to-digital converter (TDC) or other linear digital-to-time converter (DTC) circuitry. A 1-bit high-order ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ modulator and a hybrid finite-impulse response (FIR) filter are employed to mitigate the phase-folding problem caused by the nonlinearity of the bang-bang phase detector (BBPD). The ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ DPLL employs a two-point modulation technique to further enhance linearity at the turning point of a triangular modulation profile. We also show that the two-point modulation is useful for the BBPLL to improve the spread-spectrum performance by suppressing the frequency deviation at the input of the BBPD, thus reducing the peak phase deviation. Based on the proposed architecture, a 3.2 GHz spread-spectrum clock generator (SSCG) is implemented in 65 nm CMOS. Experimental results show that the proposed SSCG achieves peak power reductions of 18.5 dB and 11 dB with 10 kHz and 100 kHz resolution bandwidths respectively, consuming 6.34 mW from a 1 V supply.

  • With a development of implant restoration technique, there are increasing use of computer-guided system for edentulous patients. It was carried out simulated operation based on CT information about patient's bone quantity, quality and anatomical landmark. However, there are some difference between the programmed implant and post-operative implant about it's position. If the deviation was severe, it could happen a failure of 'passive fit' and not suited for path of implant restoration. The aim of this presentation is to evaluate about a degree of deviations between programmed implant and post-operative implant. Five patients treated by 'NobelGuide' system (Nobel Biocare AB, G$\ddot{o}$teborg, Sweden) in Department of Prosthodontics, Inha University were included in this study. The patients were performed CT radiograph taking and intra-oral impression taking at pre-operation. Based on CT images and study model, surgical stent was produced by NobelBiocareTM. To fabricated a pre-operative study model, after connected lab analog to surgical template, accomplished a pre-operative model using type 4 dental stone. At final impression, a post-operative study model was fabricated in the conventional procedures. Each study model was performed CT radiograph taking. Based on CT images, each implant was simulated in three dimensional position using $Procera^{(R)}$ software (Procera Software Clinical Design Premium, version 1.5; Nobel Biocare AB). In 3D simulated model, length and angulation between each implant of both pre- and post-operative implants were measured and recorded about linear and angular deviation between pre-and post-operative implants. A total of 24 implants were included in this study and 58 inter-implant sites between each implant were measured about linear and angular deviations. In the linear deviation a mean deviation of 0.41 mm (range 0~1.7 mm) was reported. In the angular deviation, a mean deviation was $1.99^{\circ}$ (range $0^{\circ}{\sim}6.7^{\circ}$). It appears that the both linear and angular mean deviation value were well acceptable to application of computer-guided implant system.

  • PURPOSE. The study aimed to identify the accuracy and reproducibility of preparations made by gypsum materials of various colors using quantitative and semi-quantitative three-dimensional (3D) approach. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A titanium maxillary first molar preparation was created as reference dataset (REF). Silicone impressions were duplicated from REF and randomized into 6 groups (n=8). Gypsum preparations were formed and grouped according to the color of gypsum materials, and light-scanned to obtain prepared datasets (PRE). Then, in terms of accuracy, PRE were superimposed on REF using the best-fit-algorithm and PRE underwent intragroup pairwise best-fit alignment for assessing reproducibility. Root mean square deviation (RMSD) and degrees of similarity (DS) were computed and analyzed with SPSS 20.0 statistical software (${\alpha}=.05$). RESULTS. In terms of accuracy, PREs in 3D directions were increased in the 6 color groups (from 19.38 to $20.88{\mu}m$), of which the marginal and internal variations ranged $51.36-58.26{\mu}m$ and $18.33-20.04{\mu}m$, respectively. On the other hand, RMSD value and DS-scores did not show significant differences among groups. Regarding reproducibility, both RMSD and DS-scores showed statistically significant differences among groups, while RMSD values of the 6 color groups were less than $5{\mu}m$, of which blue color group was the smallest ($3.27{\pm}0.24{\mu}m$) and white color group was the largest ($4.24{\pm}0.36{\mu}m$). These results were consistent with the DS data. CONCLUSION. The 3D volume of the PREs was predisposed towards an increase during digitalization, which was unaffected by gypsum color. Furthermore, the reproducibility of digitalizing scanning differed negligibly among different gypsum colors, especially in comparison to clinically observed discrepancies.

  • This paper proposes the Reconfigurable Doherty Amplifier(RDA) with asymmetric structure which has ${\lambda}/4$ impedance transformer for modulating the load impedance in peaking amplifier path. This structure is possible to implement a compact size for N-stage multi Doherty amplifier and to get almost same characteristics that is compared to conventional Doherty amplifier. To realize the high efficiency amplifier, we were implemented 45 Watts power amplifier at transmitter band of Wideband Code Division Multiple Access(WCDMA) base-station. As a result, in case of WCDMA 1 Frequency Allocation(FA) input signals, this amplifier has obtained a 26.3% Power Added Efficiency(PAE) at 8 dB back-off point from P1dB and an Adjacent Channel Leakage Power(ACLR) is -40.4 dBc at center frequency ${\pm}5MHz$ deviation.

  • The purpose of this study is to extract typical body shapes of Korean adults based on the three-dimensional Korean anthropometric data measured through 5th national anthropometric survey and to examine the suitability of the 3-D human shape data for the interior packaging. 36 three-dimensional anthropometric variables related to the design of vehicle interior were considered for the appraisal of typical body shapes. Four major factors were extracted by the factor analysis and factor scores were calculated for all subjects. Typical or standard drivers of Korean adults were selected by the minimum deviation criteria for the four factor scores with respect to 5th, 50th, and 95th percentiles, respectively. Typical drivers of Korean adults were visualized by the CATIA-HUMAN program due to the absence of proper application software for three-dimensionally scanned human body data. There are considerable differences between the anthropometric data of Korean adults and those provided by CATIA-HUMAN program, which shows that the modeling data provided by CATIA-HUMAN should not be directly applied to the ergonomic evaluation for the vehicle design. This suggests the necessity for the development of suitable software for scanned human shape data. It is also expected that the anthropometric data of typical drivers extracted from this study help design package layouts and improve the suitability of ergonomic evaluation for Korean customers.

  • In this work an implementation of SAW based serial type AWQPSK modulator is studied. The SAW AWQPSK modulator consisting of input apodized IDT and output uniform IDT with center frequency of 20 MHz and bit rate of 4MHz has been designed and fabricated on $YZ-LiNbO_3$ substrate. Measured center frequency and null-to-null bandwidth are 20MHz, respectively. The sidelobe suppression is achieved 60dB below the peak mainlobe level. Measured responses meet the theoretical values with tolerable amount of deviation. SAW-based modulator simplifies the implementation of AWQPSK which uses complex pulse shape as a baseband pulse.

  • GPS in the United States and GLONASS of the old Soviet Union are used currently as satellite navigation systems. Plans are being made to use the Galileo satellite system in Europe, and these plans focus on a combined application of the satellite navigation systems. In this study, we examined the possibility of effective application of a combination of GPS/GLONASS in urban areas, where 3-dimensional positioning is impossible with GPS alone. We analyzed the 3-D coordinate deviation of a GLONASS satellite by integration interval and compared it with GLONASS satellite coordinates in precise ephmerides by transforming it into WGS84. We also programmed GPS/GLONASS, analyzed 3-D positioning accuracy by static surveying and kinematic surveying with Ashtech Z18 receivers and Legacy receivers, and then compared the results to those of GPS surveying. As a result, we are able to decide the integration interval for producing GLONASS satellite coordinates in navigation and geographical information and construct a GPS/GLONASS data processing system by developing a DGPS/DGLONASS positioning program. If more than four GLONASS satellites are observed, the accuracy of GPS/GLONASS is better than that of GPS positioning. As a result of kinematic surveying in a congested urban area with skyscrapers, we discovered that the GPS/LONASS combination is very effective.

  • Hardware components are an integral part of Hardware Define Radio (HDR) for seamless operations and optimal performance. On the other hand, Software Define Radio (SDR) is a program that does not rely on any hardware components for its performance. Both of the latter radio programmers utilize modulation functions to make their core components from signal processing viewpoint. The following paper concentrates on SDR based modulation and their performance under different modulations. The bit error rate (BER) of modulations such as PSK, QAM, and PSAM were used as indicators to test channel quality estimation in planar Rayleigh fading. Though it is not commonly used for channel fading, the method of the adder determines the regionally segmented channel fading. Thus, the estimation error of the channel change substantially reduces the performance of the signal, hence, proving to be an effective option. Moreover, this paper also elaborates that BER is calculated as a function of the sample size (signal length) with an average of 20 decibels. Consequently, the size of the results for different modulation schemes has been explored. The analytical results through derivations have been verified through computer simulation. The results focused on parameters of amplitude estimation error for 1dB reduction in the average signal-to-noise ratio, while the combined amplitude deviation estimation error results are obtained for a 3.5 dB reduction

  • This experiment was carried out investigation of optimum concentration of supply nutrient solution in hydroponics of sweet pepper using coir substrates (coconut dust fiber=70% : 30%, v/v). During the growing period, it was found out that the electric conductivity (EC) would increase in proportion to the supply nutrient concentration but it was in inverse proportion to the moisture content. The pH of drainage was stable, while EC was high showing EC $7.3\;dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$ in EC $4.0\;dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$ of supply nutrient concentration. Also, standard deviation and coefficient of variation were high. Plant length was no difference by the supply nutrient concentration. Photosynthesis rate was generally high in supply nutrient concentration EC$4.0\;dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. Fruit weight was heavy in supply nutrient concentration EC $4.0\;dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$, fruit shape was close to a regular square in supply nutrient concentration EC $3.5dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$.
