  • Femur is the largest bone in the human body which supports the weight of body. A long pipeline shape of femur has little cancellous bone, so that regeneration is difficult when fracture happens. The fracture caused by an accident most frequently occurs at diaphysis. IM Nailing is the surgical method that implants an IM Nail into a medullary cavity for the fixation of fracture parts. However, a secondary fracture may happen if an IM Nail does not penetrate at the center of femur. In this study, a patient-specific femur was manufactured by a 3D printer using the computed tomography images scanned before surgery, which was used for the simulation of IM Nailing. It is expected that this result may prevent the secondary damage, reduce surgical operation time, and increase the precision.

  • In this paper, we describe interactive contents which is used the result of the inputted interface recognizing vision-based body gesture. Because the content uses the imp which is the common culture as the subject in Asia, we can enjoy it with culture familiarity. And also since the player can use their own gesture to fight with the imp in the game, they are naturally absorbed in the game. And the users can choose the multiple endings of the contents in the end of the scenario. In the part of the gesture recognition, KINECT is used to obtain the three-dimensional coordinates of each joint of the limb to capture the static pose of the actions. The vision-based 3D human pose recognition technology is used to method for convey human gesture in HCI(Human-Computer Interaction). 2D pose model based recognition method recognizes simple 2D human pose in particular environment On the other hand, 3D pose model which describes 3D human body skeletal structure can recognize more complex 3D pose than 2D pose model in because it can use joint angle and shape information of body part Because gestures can be presented through sequential static poses, we recognize the gestures which are configured poses by using HMM In this paper, we describe the interactive content which is used as input interface by using gesture recognition result. So, we can control the contents using only user's gestures naturally. And we intended to improve the immersion and the interest by using the imp who is used real-time interaction with user.

  • A draconematid nematode species, Dracograllus filipjevi Allen and Noffsinger, 1978, is described from the washings of shallow littoral coralline algae at Guryongpo in the eastern coast of Korea. This species is recognized by the following characteristics: larger body size, number of posterior sublateral adhesion tubes (9 in male and 12-13 in female) and subventral adhesion tubes (8-9 in male and 9-10 in female), the absence of cephalic acanthiform setae on rostrum, the presence of longitudinally areolated body cuticle with dot-like punctations, the presence of some cuticular collar in swollen pharyngeal region, the shape of amphidial fovea (large, elongate, and loop-shaped in both sexes), the absence of preanal corniform setae, and the absence of lateral differentiation on narrow body region. Morphological features of the species using differential interference contrast photomicrographs are described in detail in the present work. The is the first report of D. filipjevi in Korea.

  • When it is necessary to wear masks for long periods, such as during the current COVID-19 pandemic, the essential function of masks to prevent contamination (or transmission to others) as well as comfortableness are important. For this study, we used three-dimensional (3D) facial measurements of adult women to compile basic face shape data for designing comfortable and effective masks. This study analyzed the 3D facial data of 127 subjects in their 20s to 30s of the 6th Size Korea. Factor analysis of the survey data produced seven factors that formed the composition of adult female faces. These factors combined to produce three facial types: square (long face and a large lower middle face), oval (smallest central and lower body in the middle), and triangle (short face with a small central and lower large nose). These types reflect that the facial types of adult women show the differences in the nose angle, nose length, bitragion-subnasal arc, bitragion-menton arc. Therefore, properly fitting masks for fine dust particle filtration require 3D customization of a mask's breathing apparatus to fit differently shaped central and lower face parts that interfere with mask fit.

  • Recently, medical imaging has taken interest on CAD based solution for anatomical part fabrication or finite element analysis of human body. In principle, contours representing object boundary are obtained through image processing techniques. Surface models are then approximated by a skinning method. For this, various methods should be applied to medical images and contours. The major bottleneck of the reconstruction is to remove shape inconsistency between contours and to generate the branching surface. In order to solve these problems, bi-directional smoothing and the composite contour generation method are proposed. Bi-directional smoothing has advantage of removing the shape inconsistency between contours and minimizing shrinkage effect with a large number of iterations. The composite contour by the proposed method ensures smooth transition in branching region.

  • It is very important to effectively obtain the information related to the human body shape for user-centered design. The human body shape is a huge combination of various irregular curves and is typically obtained by a 3-D Scanner. 3-D scanners show high reliability; however, they are expnsive equipment with limited mobility. 3-D models of irregular-shaped curves were created by a photogrammetric approach and the errors between the original curve and the models were evaluated. 3-D models were created based on 160, 80, 40, 20, 10, and 5 marking points evenly located on the original curve. In the case of convex curve, low levels of residuals were observed in the models from 160, 80, 40, and 20 marking points (0.13% max). In the combination of convex and concave curves, relatively low levels of residuals were observed in the models from 160, 80, and 40 marking points (0.29%). It is possible to conclude that marking points should be placed at every 5% of overall length of a convex curve and at every 2.5% of overall length of a curve with convex and concave curve in order to maintain low levels of errors. A photogrammetric approach can be used as an alternative for the 3-D scanners with advantages of low cost and mobility.

  • The Virtual Reality Technology makes you feel like you are in the situation which has been made up by using the information inputted through the device which is connected with the body part. If the image which is taken from CT, MRI is reorganized in 3D, it can present the shape of the human organ more clearly. So It is more likely to be used in the operation which needs the diversified examination about mutual relation with each part in a place of 3D or confirmation of the planed information. We developed the Technology which can reorganize the image from the CT into the 3D data and represent the 3D movement of the finger according to the hand.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the shape of gathered skirts using a three-dimensional measurement system. And in this experiment, I try to accumulate three-dimensional data of wearing model and to figure out analyzing method made by shape of clothes. The experimental design consists of two factorial designs. I set up three different kinds of fabrics, ratio of gathers. Therefore nine samples were made. The instrument and tools for three-dimensional measurement was whole body 3D scanner. Analysis program used in experiment is RapidForm 2004 PP1 and Pattern Design 2000. Data analysis utilizes SPSS WIN 10.0 Package. T-test to effect an inspection of evidence, there was difference about measurement times. One-way ANOVA to analysis effect of gather made by gathering conditions. The following results were obtained; 1. As a result of inspecting an error several times using a three-dimension measurement system, convinced data was obtained. 2. At front, distribution of gap amount was larger than back. And as ratio of gathers increased, distribution of gap amount showed regularly. 3. After analyzing horizontal sectional figure of skirts, as a height of skirt changed from waist to the bottom of skirts, the results showed as follows. While section width, section thickness, node width, node depth increased, node count decreased. 4. With the horizontal section levels of gather skirt, the silhouette on middle hip section was similar with the silhouette of body line. And as ratio of gathers around hip section increased, nodes showed regularly. At the bottom of skirts showed different nodes by different gathering condition.

  • Radiation therapy of oral and head and neck cancers often involves skin in the therapeutic range, and the use of bolus is frequently used. Dose irregularities provide dose uncertainty in patient application. In this study, the physical properties of patients with gel bolus, poly lactic acid (PLA), and silicon using 3D printing were fabricated. Dose uncertainties arising from the actual radiation dose delivery were measured. As a result, PLA bolus was stable in the Common irregularities. Silicon bolus may be useful for patients with severe irregularities or frequent changes in patient's body shape.
