  • The marine life culture contents added with fun and learning factors are created in a 3D space, and the development of augmented reality contents concerning marine life resources in islands and the utilization method of experience-based learning are proposed. As a WYSIWYG-based authoring tool, an augmented reality authoring tool was made to easily use a authoring tool through a node structure and drag & drop. Marine life contents add the animation effect through a marker and event factors such as the change of modeling data, and also, they support real experience-based learning with the narration of marine life. Based on around 50 species of marine animals augmented reality contents, a marine animal AR book can be utilized as a textbook for elementary school classes, and as a 3D image education utilizing augmented reality, it enhances a learning effect by allowing realistic observation, various ways of thinking, and the maximum flow.

  • This research does focus on supporting all of formal, or informal learning at real time. From industry or education field, learning training is according to worker's current situation or business context. And according to worker's current situation, or business flow, 3D immersion knowledge visualization is effective in the individual ability and the learning progress For this, workers listen to compound knowledge coaching advices at real time. Therefore we developed the realistic 3D based knowledge retrieval method to identify and retrieve multidimensional relation easily.

  • In this study, the 3- dimensional (3-D) learning contents are suggested using 'Augmented Reality' instead of existing 2-dimensional (2-D) learning methods. At the present, there are some 2-D learning methods using texts, image, pictures, and videos called e-learning. However, these one-way 2-D methods have some disadvantages such as declining learner's immersion and concentration. Thus, the 3-D learning contents using 'Augmented Reality' are suggested to compensate the disadvantages. According to the development of information technology (IT), the augmented reality has many applications to the era of ubiquitous. However, there are some disadvantages when learners use these contents as following; non-augmenting by partially hiding from makers and declining concentration by patterns of the makers. In this study, the beneficial marker which can solve this non-augmenting phenomenon is suggested.

  • Recently, diverse bio-growth and object production experience learning contents have been developed for AR-based storytelling. In this paper, we will develop a storytelling-based growth type content using 3D printer which can add interest in and motivation of experiential learning. It is possible to increase the value of the characters produced by 3D printer as they can be used as personal collections. The bio-growth type content enables the learners and users to experience the local culture, history, and tourism ecology, which can enhance the educational effect by promoting their understanding in a fun way. The purpose of this study is to develop an application for experiential learning contents which creates a virtual environment in an object smart device where you can experience the culture and ecology of a learning community, and then produce the output using the 3D printer to keep as a personal souvenir. The developed contents application for experiential learning can be utilized not only for students but also for tourists. It is expected to serve as a source for further development of various contents through 3D printing technology.

  • We explored the method of teaching and learning of 3D based software which is useful for 3D content's authoring and utilization as a suitable tool of teaching and learning for 'Smart Learning' environments. To investigate the possibility of application in the field, we applied this software to 'Smart School' temporally. After that, we conducted a survey of learning satisfaction of students, and assessed the possibility of application in the field via one-on-one talk with teachers. As a result, we drew a positive conclusion for the applications, which are instructional medias in various subject areas, presenting materials for motivation, a tool for individual or cooperative presentation, and instructional medias for underachieving students or gifted students.

  • Recently, realistic contents using virtual reality and augmented reality are attracting attention as learning aids. 3D-based contents have the advantage of being able to observe and experience objects from various angles than 2D-based contents shown on a flat surface. In this paper, we propose a content design based on 3D model for Arduino learning in a virtual environment. The Arduino board and sensor were implemented using Blender, and a 3D-based simulator environment was constructed using the Unity engine. The proposed content uses the Arduino board and sensor implemented in 3D so that learners can easily experience the working principle of Arduino and the coding process.

  • Because the lessons of 'our body' are based on indirect experiences and simple experiments, various methods are needed to improve the learning effect. In this study, seventeen AR contents were created to be used in five subjects in the 5th grade elementary school. The learning contents implementation were made using QCAR (QualComm's Augmented Reality) and Unity 3D (Unity 3D) program, which are augmented reality software development kits (SDKs). In order to find out the applicability, we applied the developed contents to one grade 5 classroom equipped with internet environment. Participants were asked about their perception of the program and interviewed. As a result, the developed AR learning contents appeared to be available. It was expected to help improve learning and was pointed out that improvement of internet condition and development, also, was needed expansion of various contents should be complemented.

  • This study is analyzed by comparing the evaluation of usability and study achievement for simulation learning based on Web 3D and VR and it is aimed to verify the characteristics of the virtual reality through a difference in studying effect between each learning method. Therefore, this study is analyzed by comparing the evaluation of usability and study achievement for the CSI Forensics Lab simulation content that has been developed in two learning methods for scientific experiments of DNA analysis with the 75 university students of Life Science as a population(Web 3D=37, VR=38). The results of the study, in usability of user task action, exploratory and navigation, Web 3D simulation learning was positive in a significant difference, but in usability of satisfaction, VR simulation learning was positive in a significant difference. In study achievement, Web 3D simulation learning was slightly higher but did not confirm the significant differences between both of learning.

  • Tooth carving practice is required for novice learners in dentistry to understand dental morphology and acquire clinically underlying skills. Tooth carving practice is more effective when sequential models can be observed. The purpose of this study is to suggest a tooth carving practice model and to develop a mobile practice supporting tool based on tutorial providing 3D modeling information about steps of tooth carving. As a result, tooth carving practice model consists of the class activity including tooth information lecture and practice and mobile seamless learning connecting learners' practice and regular learning with the mobile tutorial tool. The mobile tutorial tool is implemented with tooth morphology dictionary, tooth carving practice/training tutorial, and 3D tooth modeling. The experts' evaluation on the developed contents shows that the content and function are valid(content validity: 5.0, interface validity: 4.53). Therefore, the mobile tutorial tool is suitable for supporting mobile seamless learning for tooth carving practice. Further researches are expected to be conducted to develop instructional models utilizing ICT and mobile contents in dentistry.
