Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute researchers have installed and operated magnetometers at Mt. Bohyun Observatory to measure the Earth's magnetic field variations in South Korea. We, in 2007, installed a fluxgate magnetometer (RFP-523C) to measure H, D, and Z components of the geomagnetic field. In addition, in 2009, we installed a Overhauser proton sensor to measure the absolute total magnetic field F and a three-axis magneto-impedance sensor for spectrum analysis. Currently three types of magnetometer data have been accumulated. In this paper, we provide the preliminary and the first statistical analysis using the BOH magnetometer installed at Mt. Bohyun Observatory. By superposed analysis, we find that daily variations of H, D, and Z shows similar tendency, that is, about 30 minutes before the meridian (11:28) a minimum appears and the time after about 3 hours and 30 minutes (15:28) a maximum appears. Also, a quiet interval start time (19:06) is near the sunset time, and a quiet interval end time (06:40) is near the sunrise time. From the sunset to the sunrise, the value of H has a nearly constant interval, that is, the sun affects the changes in H values. Seasonal variations show similar dependences to the sun. Local time variations show that noon region has the biggest variations and midnight region has the smallest variations. We compare the correlations between geomagnetic variations and activity indices as we expect the geomagnetic variation would contain the effects of geomagnetic activity variations. As a result, the correlation coefficient between H and Dst is the highest (r = 0.947), and other AL, AE, AU index and showed a high correlation. Therefore, the effects of geomagnetic storms and geomagnetic substorms might contribute to the geomagnetic changes significantly.
Computing Performance, sensor, storage, memory, and network costs have been steadily declining, and IoT services have recently become more active. The Internet of Things is linked with Big Data to create new business, and public institutions and corporations are hurry to import Internet of things. As the importance of the Internet of things has increased, the number of devices supporting the IoT has rapidly increased. With the development of the Internet of Things, various types of Internet services are being developed. For this reason, there is an increasing demand for IoT service designers and developers for IoT service case automatic search technology. IoT service designers can avoid duplication with existing services through service case retrieval and developers can save cost and time by combining existing reusable service equipment. This paper proposes IoT-Lite ontology for IoT and Semantic Web service to solve the above-mentioned problems. The existing ontologies for IoT, despite its many advantages, are not widely used by developers because it has not overcome the relatively slow drawbacks of increasing complexity and searching for development. To complement this, this study uses the IoT-Lite ontology introduced by W3C as a model and a semantic web service for automatic system retrieval. 3D camera, GPS, and 9-axis sensor, and IoT-Lite designed by IoT-Lite technique are integrated with the semantic technique and implemented directly.

Balance measurement is widely used in fields of physiotherapy, neurology, sport medicine and rehabilitation medicine. This paper presents the development of balance measurement and rehabilitation training system. To this end, we have developed a prototype system using an 3-axis accelerometer sensor attached to the under surface of balance board. As a results, the system is stable and shows a good degree of balance function. Also, the various patterns for rehabilitation training can be added easily. This system can be used for daily balance monitoring and will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of training.
The increase of the number of smartphone applications has enforced the importance of new user interface emergence and has raised the interest of research in the convergence of multiple sensors. In this paper, we propose a method for the convergence of acceleration, magnetic and gyro sensors to recognize the gesture from motion of user smartphone. The proposed method first obtain the 3D orientation of smartphone and recognize the gesture of hand motion by using HMM(Hidden Markov Model). The proposed method for the representation for 3D orientation of smartphone in spherical coordinate was used for quantization of smartphone orientation to be more sensitive in rotation axis. The experimental result shows that the success rate of our method is 93%.
A lot of studies have been conducted to recognize the motion state or behavior of the user using the acceleration sensor built in the smartphone. In this paper, we applied the neural networks to the 3-axis acceleration information of smartphone to study human behavior. There are performance issues in applying time series data to neural networks. We proposed a multi-temporal neural networks which have trained three neural networks with different time windows for feature extraction and uses the output of these neural networks as input to the new neural network. The proposed method showed better performance than other methods like SVM, AdaBoot and IBk classifier for real acceleration data.
Space telescope optics is one of the major parts of any space mission used to observe astronomical targets or the Earth. This kind of space mission typically involves bulky and complex opto-mechanics with a long optical tube, but attempts have been made to observe a target with a small satellite. In this paper, we describe the optical design of a reflecting telescope for use in a CubeSat mission. For this design we adopt the off-axis segmented method for astronomical observation techniques based on a Ritchey-Chr$\acute{e}$tien type telescope. The primary mirror shape is a rectangle with dimensions of $8cm{\times}8cm$, and the secondary mirror has dimensions of $2.4cm{\times}4.1cm$. The focal ratio is 3 which can yield a 0.383 degree diagonal angle in a $1280{\times}800$ CMOS color image sensor with a pixel size of $3{\mu}m{\times}3{\mu}m$. This optical design can capture a ${\sim}4km{\times}{\sim}2.3km$ area of the earth's surface at 700 km altitude operation.

Recently, many researches related to IoT (Internet of Things) have been actively conducted. In order to improve the context aware function of smart wearable devices using the IoT, we proposed a noise reduction method for the event data of the sensor part. In thisstudy, the adoption of the low - pass filter induces the attenuation of the abnormally measured value, and the benefit was obtained from the situation recognition using the event data of the sensor. As a result, we have validated attenuation for abnormal or excessive noise using event data detected and reported by 3-axis acceleration sensors on some devices, such as smartphones and smart watches. In addition, various pattern data necessary for real - time context aware were obtained through noise pattern analysis.
The district heating system, which is the main axis of Korea's collective energy business, contributes to the national benefit and safety with the economical heat energy supply system. However, due to the uncertainty of management subjects and the shortage of professional technical personnel, there are many problems such as deterioration of thermal efficiency and unfairness of the price of the apartment houses. In this paper, we propose the monitoring points necessary for the efficiency and fault management of the district heating customer-side. And we propose a standard reference model to standardize it. We propose a technical methodology to improve the service quality and energy efficiency of the district heating facilities by applying IoT sensor technology, real-time monitoring and integrated management system.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to introduce a method of obtaining the oscillation graphs of the dental x-ray tube heads relative to time using an accelerometer. Materials and Methods: An Accelerometer, Piezotron type 8704B25 (Kistler Instrument Co., Amherst, NY, USA) was utilized to measure the horizontal oscillation of the x-ray tube head immediately after positioning the tube head for an intraoral radiograph. The signal from the sensor was transferred to a dynamic signal analyzer, which displayed the magnitude of the acceleration on the Y-axis and time lapse on the X -axis. The horizontal oscillation of the tube head was measured relative to time, and the settling time was also determined on the basis of the acceleration graphs for 6 wall type, 5 floor-fixed type, and 4 mobile type dental x-ray machines. Results : The oscillation graphs showed that tube head movement decreased rapidly over time. The settling time varied with x-ray machine types. Wall-type x-ray machines had a settling time of up to 6 seconds, 5 seconds for fixed floor-types, and 1 I seconds for the mobile-types. Conclusion: Using an accelerometer, we obtained the oscillation graphs of the dental x-ray tube head relative to time. The oscillation graph with time can guide the operator to decide upon the optimum exposure moment after x-ray tube head positioning for better radiographic resolution.
