  • The prominent advantages of Dual Material Surrounding Gate (DMSG) MOSFETs are higher speed, higher current drive, lower power consumption, enhanced short channel immunity and increased packing density, thus promising new opportunities for scaling and advanced design. In this Paper, we present Transconductance-to-drain current ratio and electric field distribution model for dual material surrounding gate (DMSGTs) MOSFETs. Transconductance-to-drain current ratio is a better criterion to access the performance of a device than the transconductance. This proposed model offers the basic designing guidance for dual material surrounding gate MOSFETs.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the oral health care and oral health awareness of some laborers. Out of them, 220 workers were selected from K motor company in Hwaseong, and the other 180 workers were selected from D automobile company in Bupyeong. The findings of the study were as follows: As for daily toothbrushing frequency, the largest number of the laborers investigated(44.0%) brushed their teeth three times a day. Smoking made a significant difference to that($x^2$=19.00, p<.01). Concerning the use of oral hygiene supplies, 41.3 percent put oral hygiene supplies to use. There was a significant difference in that aspect according to gender($x^2$=9.20, p<.01). Regarding scaling experience, the largest group(37.3%) had their teeth scaled twice or more, and their scaling experience significantly varied with gender($x^2$=8.60, p<.05), age($x^2$=20.07, p<.01), academic credential($x^2$=11.88, p<.01) and the presence or absence of systemic diseases($x^2$=8.19, p<.05). In relation to oral diseases, the greatest group(27.8%) had dental caries. By gender, the female workers had more dental caries or the more swollen gums than the males, and the gap between the two was significant($x^2$=13.65, p<.05).

  • In the field of electronics and semiconductor technology, innovative semiconductor material research to replace Si is actively ongoing. However, while research on alternative materials is underway, there is a significant lack of studies regarding the relationship between 2D materials used as channels in transistors, especially parasitic resistance, and RF (radio frequency) applications. This study systematically analyzes the impact on electrical performance with a focus on various transistor structures to address this gap. The research results confirm that access resistance and contact resistance act as major factors contributing to the degradation of semiconductor device performance, particularly when highly scaled down. As the demand for high-frequency RF components continues to grow, establishing guidelines for optimizing component structures and elements to achieve desired RF performance is crucial. This study aims to contribute to this goal by providing structural guidelines that can aid in the design and development of next-generation RF transistors using 2D materials as channels.

  • The bulk-planer MOSFET has a scaling limitation due to the short channel effect (SCE). The Double-Gate MOSFET (DG-MOSFET) is a next generation device for nanoscale with excellent control of SCE. The quantum effect in lateral direction is important for subthreshold characteristics when the effective channel length of DG-MOSFET is less than 10nm, Also, ballistic transport is setting important. This study shows modeling and design issues of nanoscale DG-MOSFET considering the 2D quantum effect and ballistic transport. We have optimized device characteristics of DG-MOSFET using a proper value of $t_{si}$ underlap and lateral doping gradient.

  • This paper presents multiple watermarking method for the copyright protection and the prevention of illegal copying of mobile 3D contents. The proposed method embeds an unique watermark and a WCA watermark into the spatial and encryption domains of mobile 3D content based on anonymous Buyer-Seller watermarking protocol. The seller generates an unique watermark and embeds it into the distribution of vertex data of 3D content object. After receiving the encrypted watermark from WCA, the seller embeds it into the encrypted vertex data by using operator that satisfies the privacy homo morphic property. The proposed method was implemented using a mobile content tool, Power VR MBX and experimental results verified that the proposed method was capable of copyright protection and preventing illegal copying, as the watermarks were also accurately extracted in the case of geometrical attacks, such as noise addition, data accuracy variation, and data up/down scaling.

  • Periodontal disease is a complex infectious disease caused by bacteria in the oral mucosa, which results in gingival inflammation, breakdown of periodontal tissues, bone resorption, and finally tooth loss. Mechanical plaque control methods-scaling and root planing are effective methods to stop the progression of such periodontal disease. It was reported that subantimicrobial dose of doxycycline(SDD) regimen could improve clinical conditions of periodontal tissues without causing the overgrowth of opportunistic organisms that was a typical antibiotic side effect. Therefore pharmacological therapy, used in conjunction with mechanical therapy could be considered a useful treatment modality in the treatment of chronic periodontal disease. In this study, 30 patients diagnosed as moderate to advanced chronic periodontitis were divided into 2 groups. In this double-blind, placebo-controlled study, the patients were administered 20mg doxycycline capsule or placebo capsule b.i.d. for 4months, after scaling and root planing. Clinical parameters-bleeding on probing, pocket depth and clinical attachment level were compared and evaluated between these groups at periods of first visit, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 4 months. The results were as follows ; 1. In case of moderate periodontitis, pocket depth showed significant reduction after treatment in both the control & experiment groups, when compared with the baseline values(p<0.01), but in case of advanced periodontitis, only the experiment group showed significant reduction after treatment when compared with the baseline values(p<0.05). Statistically significant reduction in pocket depth was observed in the experiment group compared to the control group(p<0.05). 2. In case of moderate periodontitis, clinical attachment level showed significant reduction after treatment in both the control & experiment groups, when compared with the baseline values(p<0.01), but in case of advanced periodontitis, only the experiment group showed significant reduction after treatment when compared with the baseline values(p<0.05). Statistically significant reduction in clinical attachment level was observed in the experiment group compared to the control group(p<0.05). 3. Bleeding on probing improved after treatment in both the groups. In case of moderate periodontitis, the experiment group showed statistically significant reduction of bleeding on probing when compared with the control group at 1 and 4 months after treatment(p<0.05). In case of advanced periodontitis, treatment resulted in statistically significant reduction of bleeding on probing in both the groups(p<0.05). These results indicate that the use of subantimicrobial dose of doxycycline is a useful supplement to mechanical treatment for periodontal patients in ameliorating the clinical parameters such as periodontal pocket, attachment level, and bleeding on probing.

  • Critical two-phase flow rates of subcooled water through very short tube (L=20 mm) with small diameters (D=1.0 mm) has been measured for wide ranges of subcooling(0~186$^{\circ}C$) and pressure (0.5~2.0 MPa). Experimental results show that subcooled critical two-phase flow rates can be expressed in terms of two scaling parameters for geometries and initial conditions. They are discharge coefficient of cold water, ( $C_{d}$ )$_{ref}$, and dimensionless subcooling, $\Delta$ $T^{*}$$_{sub}$, respectively. A new empirical correlation expressed in terms of ( $C_{d}$ )$_{ref}$ and $\Delta$ $T^{*}$$_{sub}$ is obtained for subcooled two-phase flow rates through very short length tube. Comparisons between the mass fluxes calculated by Present correlation and a number of experimental data show that the agreement is very good.ood.ood.ood.

  • Previous researches on subsequence matching have been focused on how to make indexes in order to speed up the matching time, and do not take into account the effectiveness issues of subsequence matching methods. This paper considers the effectiveness of subsequence matching methods and proposes two metrics for effectiveness evaluations of subsequence matching algorithms. We have applied the proposed metrics to Korean stock data and five known matching algorithms. The analysis on the empirical data shows that two methods (i.e., the method supporting normalization, and the method supporting scaling and shifting) outperform the others in terms of the effectiveness of subsequence matching.

  • Semiconductor devices have evolved from 2D planar FETs to 3D bulk FinFETs, with aggressive device scaling. Bulk FinFETs make it possible to suppress short-channel effects. In addition, the use of low-k dielectric materials as a vacuum gate spacer have been suggested to improve the AC characteristics of the bulk FinFET. However, although the vacuum gate spacer is effective, correlation between the vacuum gate spacer and the short-channel-effects have not yet been compared or discussed. Using a 3D TCAD simulator, this paper demonstrates how to optimize bulk FinFETs including a vacuum gate spacer and to suppress short-channel effects.

  • In this paper, we present a time-triggered mechanism for providing energy consumption profiles in the level of C functions. The similar mechanisms have already been introduced at the previous researches such as PowerScope and ePRO. Instead, we, in this paper, introduce our efforts to extend these researches to incorporate power domains and DVS(Dynamic Voltage Scaling), then to provide GUI-based tool as a plug-in to ESTO which is an IDE for Embedded S/W development based on Eclipse. From our experimental results, we could conclude that our approach worked and produced consistent energy consumption profiles on the DVS-applied program codes, and also displayed function level and time domain power consumption information with diverse presentation skills such as tables, phi-chart, bar-chart, 2-D graphs, consequently, is expected to provide more ease-to-use and productive IDE for lower power embedded S/W developers.
