중국의 고온가스로(HTGR) 개발 현황

  • 최근에 발효된 기후 변화 협약에 대처할 수 있는 청정 에너지원으로서 수소가 큰 기대를 받고 있다. 이에 따라 미국을 비롯한 선진국들은 수소 생산과 수소 활용을 위한 기술 개발을 적극적으로 추진하고 있다. 수소 생산 방법으로서는 탄화수소에 고온의 수증기를 불어넣어 수소를 분리해 내는 증기개질법이 현재로서는 가장 효율적인 방법으로 알려져 있으며, 고온가스로(HTGR)가 가장 경제적인 열원으로 대두되고 있다. 중국은 2020년까지 3000만kW의 신규 원자력발전소(주로 PWR) 건설을 계획하고 있으며, 발전과 수소 생산을 위한 열을 동시에 공급할 수 있는 고온가스로의 상용화 개발 프로그램을 추진중이다. 2005년 3월호에 게재된 중국의 HTGR 개발 관련 기사를 소개한다.

The Race Differentiation of Phytophthora capsici in Korea (국내 고추 역병균의 병원성 분화)

  • This study was examined to identify the race differentiation and distribution of mating type on Phytophthora capsici population in Korea. One hundred forty three isolates of P. capsici were collected from several locations of Korea in 2005-2007. In 2005, 20 isolates of P. capsici were collected and surveyed as A1 mating type of 75% and A2 mating type of 25%. In 2006, a total of 91 isolates were collected and separated as A1 mating type of 49.0%, A2 mating type of 42.9% and S type (sterile) of 3.3%. Isolates obtained in 2007 were similar to 2006 results. Totally, ratio of mating type of 153 isolates was confirmed that A1 type was 56.6%, A2 type was 39.2%, and S type was 4.2%. Thirteen pepper cultivars with different pathogenic response to 3 typical isolates having different mating were screened among 50 pepper cultivars and determined as race differential cultivars for investigation. The 11 races of P. capsici were found by using 13-race differential cultivars. These results indicated that at least 11 races of P. capsici are existed and confirmed race differentiation of P. capsici in pepper.

  • On July 5,2002 the Law Concerning Recycling of End-of Life Vehicles popularly known as the "Automobile Recycling Law" was enacted in Japan. This paper examines the features of this Law, reasons why the Law was brought into existence, and its predicted impacts on the automobile industry. Pursuant to the Law, the current automobile recycling system was replaced by a new one in January 1, 2005.

The Change of Flora and Fauna on Extensive Rooftop Green Areas (관리조방형 옥상녹화지의 동.식물상 변화)

  • The purpose of this study is conducted to examine the change of flora and fauna in the extensive rooftop green area from 2005 to 2009. The experimental site is on the rooftop green area of Seoul Women's University which was constructed in 2005. This research was consisted of four parts: soil, potted plants, invading plants and small animals especially insects. The plants were surveyed by enumeration, while animals were surveyed by two methods which are 'Netting and Searching' and 'Pit fall trap'. The initial group of plants planted in 2005 was 100 species of 26 families whereas in 2009 there were 62 species of 23 families including 22 invading species of 11 families. In case of insects in 2009, 21 species of 7 families (9 orders) were detected; 19 species of 15 families (8 orders) were discovered by 'Netting and Searching' and 5 species of 5 families (5 orders) by 'Pit fall trap'.

돼지고기 품질 고급화 생산 사양기술

  • 돼지고기 생산은 소비자의 구매 욕구에 따라야 하는데, 국민소득 증대와 건강에 대한 관심고조로 고품질 안전 돈육 생산의 필요성이 그 어느 때보다 절실히 요구되는 시점이다. 이런 시대적 요청에 따라 정부에서도 품질이 고급화된 돼지고기를 생산하기 위한 방안으로 브랜드돈육 육성에 박차를 가하고 있다. 2005년에는 농림부와 농협중앙회가 주관한 제 3회 우수 축산물 브랜드 경진대회를 개최한 바 있고, 2005년에는 『소비자 문제를 연구하는 시민의 모임』이 농림부로부터 우수 축산물브랜드 인증기관으로 승인 받아 한우 13개소, 돼지 12개소 브랜드 생산업체를 인증하였고, 2006년에는 닭이 신규로 추가되어 3개 축종에 대해 브랜드 인증사업이 진행 중에 있다. 금후에도 브랜드 인증과 관련된 사업은 정부나 소비자단체에서 지속적으로 추진될 것으로 전망되므로 양돈 생산농가와 업체에서는 브랜드 돈육을 생산할 수 있는 노력을 꾸준히 실천해야 할 것으로 생각된다. 브랜드 돈육 생산은 종돈, 사료, 사양기술 등을 통일하고 돼지고기의 품질을 높이며, 돈육을 소비자의 식탁까지 안전하게 유통시키고, 브랜드관리에 최선을 다하는 체계화된 일련의 사업이라 할 수 있다. 이런 시점에서 돼지고기 품질 고급화 생산을 위한 사양기술 방안에 대하여 살펴볼까 한다.

  • 아시아 파렛트 표준기구(상설국제기구) 설립 및 운영계획(안)은 2003년 아시아 파렛트 표준화 회의(2003.10.16, 서울) 합의서와, 제2차 동북아 산업표준 협력회의(2003.10.31, 북경) 비망록에 의거 합의된 사안으로, 지난 2004년 9월 22일$\~$23일 서울에서 개최된 한중일 파렛트 전문가 회의를 통하여 기본안이 확정 되었으며, 제2차 한중일 파렛트전문가 회의(2005. 04 예정, 중국 북경)를 통하여 세부내용 확정 및 준비위원회 구성 예정이다. 아시아 파렛트 표준기구(상설국제기구)는 동북아 표준파렛트 규격 제정을 위한 한중일 3개국 파렛트 전문가들의 실무작업 사업전개를 위한 상설국제기구이며 2006년 3월 창립을 목표로 하고 있다.

Prospect for change in extreme precipitation over North Korea Using Change Scenarios (기후변화 시나리오를 활용한 북한지역 극한강수량 변화 전망)

  • 기후변화에 따른 수문 순환의 변화로 인해 전 지구적으로 수문현상의 규모와 빈도가 변화할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 하지만 북한의 미래의 극한 강수량에 대한 정량적인 평가는 거의 시도되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 25개 GCM을 활용하여 북한의 극한 강수량의 변화를 전망하였다. 참조기간(1980-2005년)의 20년 빈도의 강수량은 RCP8.5 시나리오에서 F1(2011-2040년) 기간에서 21.1년으로 증가하였고, F2(2040-2070년) 기간에서 16.2년으로 감소하였으며, F3(2071-2100년) 기간에서는 8.8년으로 감소하였다. 참조기간에 대한 각 미래에서의 20년 빈도 강수량의 지역평균을 비교한 결과, RCP4.5의 F3 기간은 참조기간에 비해 43.4 mm 증가하였고, RCP8.5에서는 80.7 mm로 RCP4.5보다 20년 빈도 강수량의 증가가 더욱 커질 것으로 전망되었다. 기후변화로 인해 극한 강수량 발생빈도는 증가할 것으로 전망된다. 또한 남북 국경지역의 강수량의 변동성이 커질 것으로 예상되며, 이로 인해 발생할 수 있는 피해를 저감하기 위해 남북이 공유하고 있는 북한강과 임진강에 대한 공동적인 대응이 필요할 것이다.

A New Double-Petaled Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla koreana) Variety, 'Gyeobi' (겹꽃 분화용 할미꽃 신품종 '겨비')

  • A new pasqueflower (Pulsatilla koreana) variety, 'Gyeobi,' was derived from a mutation of native P. koreana at the Jeollanamdo Agricultural Research and Extension Services (JARES) in Naju, Korea. The 'Gyoebi' was obtained by treating seeds with 3 mM of a chemical mutagen, sodium azide, for 16 hr in 2001. The variety was established in 2005 after two years of selective breeding. 'Gyeobi' is characterized by reddish purple flowers with 12 double petals. The inherent characteristics of the variety are deep yellow anthers and reddish purple stigmas. The agronomic characteristics of the variety are 6.3 flowers per plant, 26.4 cm in flower height, 14.2 cm in leaf length, 7.5 cm in flower width, and 11.0 cm in bract width.

A Study on the Characteristics of Ecosystem Change and Management in Urban Wetland - Focusing on the Dunchon-Dong Ecological and Scenery Conservation Area, Seoul - (도시 습지 자연생태계 변화 특성 및 관리방안 연구 - 서울시 둔촌동 생태·경관보전지역을 대상으로 -)

  • The present study has monitored the changes in the biodiversity of Dunchon-Dong ecological and landscape conservation area after the restoration of the wetland, identified and analyzed the threats to the ecosystem, and presented a management plan accordingly. In this area which was forests and rice paddies in the past, apartment reconstruction is currently underway, with some hinterland forests and wetlands remaining. When we look into the change in the floras, the total number of species was 193 in 2000 before the restoration, it decreased from 2004 to 2006, and as of 2019, it was 149, showing an increasing trend. The result of comparing the species that emerged before and after the restoration showed an increase in Cyperaceae herbs such as Carex maximowiczii and Carex dispalata growing in wetland areas within forests and Schoenoplectiella juncoides and Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani growing in areas within wetlands where shallow water is maintained. As a result of analyzing the change in the area ratio of each type of extant vegetation, the wetland native herbs formed the power at the highest ratio after the restoration. The change in the power of the wetland native herbs was on an increasing trend until 2007, after which it decreased much in 2010 and then gradually increased, showing values of 26.6% in 2000, 44.6% in 2002, 49.0% in 2005, 53.3% in 2007, 28.7% in 2010, and 37.3% in 2019. The cause of the decrease in 2010 was judged to be due to the vegetation management conducted to secure open water and remove organic matter in freshwater reservoirs. The amphibia which emerged from 2000 to 2019 was a total of 9 species including Hynobius leeshii, Bufo gargarizans, Kaloula borealis, and Rana uenoi. As a result of the changes in the emerging wild birds, the species diversity index before the restoration was 0.9922 in 2000, and the species diversity index after the restoration gradually increased to 1.2449 in 2005, 1.2467 in 2010, and 2.2631 in 2019. The amphibia and wild birds inhibiting in the Dunchon-Dong forest and wetland were judged to have increased through continuous wetland maintenance such as naturalized plant removal management, native plant maintenance, and open water securing management. For the ecosystem preservation management of the Dunchon-Dong ecological and landscape conservation area, it was suggested to minimize the impact of the Dunchon-Dong reconstruction project, reorganize the indiscriminate access roads adjacent to the wetland, and reorganize the main entrance to the wetland. For ecosystem restoration management, systematic restoration and ecological buffer planting were suggested to be carried out at the time of construction fence demolition.

Growth Characteristics and Productivity of New Orchardgrass(Dactylis glomerata L.) Variety "Korditwo" (오차드그라스 신품종 "코디투"의 생육특성과 수량성)

  • Korditwo is a new orchardgrass(Dactylis glomerata L.) variety developed by the National Institute of Animal Science(NIAS) in 2005. To develope the new variety of orchardgrass, 5 superior clones, Dg8533, Dg9518, EDg9133, U8504 and U8519, were selected and polycrossed for seed production. That synthetic variety was designated newly as "Korditwo", and it's agronomic growth characteristics and forage productivity were examined at Suwon from 2001 to 2002, and regional yield trials were conducted in Suwon, Pyungchang, Youngju, Iksan, and Jeju from 2003 to 2005, respectively. "Korditwo" showed medium type growth habit in fall and spring and short in length of flag leaf and upper internode. Plant height of "Korditwo" was similar to that of standard variety, "Ambassador" and heading date was 4 days later than 14th May compared to Ambassador. Characteristics such as winter hardiness, lodging tolerance, disease resistance of "Korditwo" were stronger or better than those of Ambassador, specially in winter hardiness and lodging tolerance. "Korditwo" showed 10% higher dry matter yield(11.3 ton/ha) compared to Amabassador. Nutritive value was appeared to be similar in both varieties.
