  • The aim of the study is to develop the Adolescent Anger Provocation Scale(AAPS) for Korean adolescents. In order to develop the scale, two research processes were conducted. First, a total of 130 items were derived from various related research. After analyzing 130 items by a research team(2 related field professors and 2 Ph.D. students), a total of 54 items reconstructed based on redundancy, cultural relevancy, and appropriateness. Second, a survey was administered among 252 Korean adolescents. After analyzing an exploratory factor analysis, 12 items of poor factor loading were deleted. Thus, seven factors and 42 items were extracted. Seven factors were as follows: (1) threat to self-esteem, (2) uncontrollable situations, (3) violation of personal property, (4) incidents associated with rejection, (5) violation of regulation or rules, (6) disrespectful treatment, (7) unfair treatment due to age. The internal consistency and convergence validity of the scale were supported. The results of confirmatory factor analysis were also reported. In addition, study limitations and recommendations of future research were discussed.

  • The Connected House is a new type of IT convergence service that combines new communication services with existing IT systems such as M2M, NFC, smart home, and smart grid. It is a future connected life service that connects to any device anytime, anywhere. In this paper, we designed an intelligent gateway, a connected office solution for the Internet of things, which provides a connected life service for the future, and can control various sensors, ZigBee/Z-Wave/NFC and terminal devices. In addition, IP/SIP/IMS cameras and video door phones that are linked to the gateway have been developed to satisfy the quality standards of domestic communication service providers in terms of voice quality, jitter, and frame rate.

  • Recently, research for machining next-generation micro semiconductor processes and micro patterns has been actively conducted. In particular, it is applied to various industrial fields depending on the machining method in the case of FIB (Focused ion beam) milling. In this study, intends to deal with FIB milling machining technology for ultra-precision diamond tool fabrication technology. Ultra-precision diamond tools require nano-scale precision, and FIB milling is a useful method for nano-scale precision machining. However, FIB milling has a problem of Gaussian characteristics that are differently formed according to the beam current due to the input of an ion beam source, and there are process conditions to be considered, such as a side clearance angle problem of a diamond tool that is differently formed according to the tilting angle. A series of process steps for fabrication a ultra-precision diamond tool were studied and analyzed for each process. It was confirmed that the effect on the fabrication process was large depending on the spot size of the beam and the current of the beam as a result of the experimental analysis.

  • We consider multiscale mortar mixed finite element discretizations for slightly compressible Darcy flows in porous media. This paper is an extension of the formulation introduced by Arbogast et al. for the incompressible problem [2]. In this method, flux continuity is imposed via a mortar finite element space on a coarse grid scale, while the equations in the coarse elements (or subdomains) are discretized on a fine grid scale. Optimal fine scale convergence is obtained by an appropriate choice of mortar grid and polynomial degree of approximation. Parallel numerical simulations on some multiscale benchmark problems are given to show the efficiency and effectiveness of the method.

  • Korea has recently suffered from severe hazes, largely being long-range transported from China but frequently mixed with domestic pollution. It is important to identify the origin of the frequently-occurring hazes, which is however hard to clearly determine in a quantitative term. In this regard, we suggest a possible classification procedure of various hazes into long-range transported haze (LH), Yellow Sand (YS), and urban haze (UH), based on mass loading of fine particles, time lag of PM mass concentrations between two sites aligned with dominant wind direction, backward trajectory of air mass, and the mass ratio of PM2.5 to PM10. The analysis sites are Seoul (SL) and Baengnyeongdo (BN), which are distant about 200 km from each other in the west to east direction. Aerosol concentrations at BN are overall lower than those of SL, indicative of BN being a background site for SL. We found distinct time lag of PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations between BN and SL in case of both LH and YS, but the intensity of YS being stronger than LH. Time scale (e-folding time scale) of LH appears to be longer and more variable than YS, which implies that LH covers much larger spatial scale. In addition, we found linear and significant correlations between ${\tau}_a$ obtained from sunphotometer and ${\tau}_{cal}$ calculated from surface aerosol scattering coefficient for LH episodes, relative to few correlation between those for YS, which might be associated with transported height of YS being much higher than LH. Therefore surface PM concentrations for the YS period are thought to be not representative for vertical integrated amount of aerosol loadings, probably by virtue of decoupled structure of aerosol vertical distribution. Improvement of various hazes classification based on the current result would provide the public as well as researchers with more accurate information of LH, UH, and YS, in terms of temporal scale, size, vertical distribution of aerosols, etc.

  • Two-dimensional steady flowfields generated by transverse injection jets into a supersonic mainstream are numerically simulated. Fine-scale turbulence effects are represented by a k-${\omega}$ SST two-equation closure model which includes $y^+$ effects on the turbulence model. Solution convergence is evaluated by using Grid Convergence Index(GCI), a measure of uncertainty of the grid convergence. Comparison is made with experimental data and other turbulence models in term of surface static pressure distributions, the length of the upstream separation region, and the penetration height. Results indicate that the k-${\omega}$ SST model correctly predicts the mean surface pressure distribution and the upstream separation length for low static pressure ratios. However, the numerical predictions become less consistent with experimental results as the static pressure ratio increases. All these results are taken within 1% error band of grid convergence.

  • The roll-to-roll (R2R) fabrication method to make micro-scale pillar arrays for biomimetic functionalization of surfaces is presented. Inspired by the micro-structure of plants in nature, a surface with a synthetic micro-scale pillar array is fabricated via maskless photolithography. After the surface is SAM (self-assembled monolayer) coated with trichlorosilane in a vacuum desiccator, it displays a hydrophobic property even in R2R replicas of original substrate, whose properties are further characterized using various pitches and diameters. In order to perform a comparison between the original micro-pattern and its replicas, surface morphology was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and wetting characteristics were measured via a contact angle measurement tool with a $10{\mu}L$ water droplet. Efficient roll-to-roll imprinting for a biomimetic functionalized surface has the potential for use in many fields ranging from water repelling and self-cleaning to microfluidic chips.

  • Cuprous oxide ($Cu_2O$) is one of the potential candidates as an absorber layer in ultra-low-cost solar cells. $Cu_2O$ is highly desirable semiconducting oxide material for use in solar energy conversion due to its direct band gap ($E_g={\sim}2.1eV$) and high absorption coefficient that absorbs visible light of wavelength up to 650 nm. In addition, $Cu_2O$ has other several advantages such as non-toxicity, low cost and also can be prepared with simple and cheap methods on large scale. In this work, we deposited the $Cu_2O$ thin films by electrodeposition on gold coated $SiO_2/Si$ wafers. We changed the process conditions such as pH of the solution, applied potential on working electrode, and solution temperature. Finally, we confirmed the structural properties of the thin films by XRD and SEM.
