  • This paper discusses how to get the sums of squares due to treatment factors when Type I Analysis is used by projections for the analysis of data under the assumption of a two-way ANOVA model. The suggested method does not need to calculate the residual sums of squares for the calculation of sums of squares. There-fore, the calculation is easier and faster than classical ANOVA methods. It also discusses how eigenvectors and eigenvalues of the projection matrices can be used to get the calculation of sums of squares. An example is given to illustrate the calculation procedure by projections for unbalanced data.

  • Before entering 21st Century, modern medical science is requiring more precise display which is highly estimated in diagnostic value as radial science technology is achieving sharp development. And it is also trying to contribute to improve national health and to offer better service by reducing radial exposure. General projection and Fluoroscopy which are most difficult to be displayed in digital tend to change their way ; from analog to digital with development of Electronic Engineering and Computer Technology, Introducing to CR system in 1994, SMC have displayed General projection and Fluoroscopy 100% in digital using CR system. This study searched differences between repeat rate, repeat type in the exam using Film/Screen and those in the exam using CR system. According to the analysis of repeat types and repeat rate of Film which was reused by using CR system in general projection room and Fluoroscopy room of SMC, we found that total 192,813 films were used and 2,097 films, 1.09% of total were reused. However, actual repeat covers 0.76% to 1,461 sheets with the exception of 636sheets. As above, display process using CR system is 0.76% much lower than general repeat rate 2$\sim$4% of Film/Screen exam. Besides decreased under/over exposure, it is appeared that position failure rate in repeat rate 0.76% covers relatively high 31%. Noticing that repeat caused unskilled devices handing was found many times, sufficient understanding seems to be required to reduce repeat.

  • With the large amount of complex network data that is increasingly available on the Web, link prediction has become a popular data-mining research field. The focus of this paper is on a link-prediction task that can be formulated as a binary classification problem in complex networks. To solve this link-prediction problem, a sparse-classification algorithm called "Truncated Kernel Projection Machine" that is based on empirical-feature selection is proposed. The proposed algorithm is a novel way to achieve a realization of sparse empirical-feature-based learning that is different from those of the regularized kernel-projection machines. The algorithm is more appealing than those of the previous outstanding learning machines since it can be computed efficiently, and it is also implemented easily and stably during the link-prediction task. The algorithm is applied here for link-prediction tasks in different complex networks, and an investigation of several classification algorithms was performed for comparison. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperformed the compared algorithms in several key indices with a smaller number of test errors and greater stability.

  • Several robust censored depth regression methods are compared under contamination. Park and Hwang(2003) suggested a way to circumvent the censoring issue by incorporating Kaplan-Meier type weight in halfspace regression depth and Park(2003) used a similar technique to simplicial regression depth. Hubert et al. (2001) suggested a high breakdown point regression depth based on projection called rcent. A new method to implement censoring in rcent is suggested and compared with two precedents under various contamination and censoring schemes.

  • In this paper, the prototype of SIS(Simulated Implantation System) for human femoral head is introduced. SIS is a software which carries on a virtual femoral head replacement surgery including 3d visualization as well as various numeric analyses between a patient's femur and artificial femur through certain stages of the image processing and of the computer graphics. Also, processes required after acquiring consecutive CT-images and projected image of an artificial femur are discussed, and the corresponding results including prototype of SIS are given.

  • This paper discusses a method for getting a basis set of estimable functions of less than full rank linear model. Since model parameters are not estimable estimable functions should be identified for making inferences proper about them. So, it suggests a method of using full rank factorization of model matrix to find estimable functions in easy way. Although they might be obtained in many different ways of using model matrix, the suggested full rank factorization technique could be one of much easier methods. It also discusses how to use projection matrix to identify estimable functions.

  • This paper discusses a method for getting Type I sums of squares by projections under a two-way fixed-effects model when variances of errors are not equal. The method of weighted least squares is used to estimate the parameters of the assumed model. The model is fitted to the data in a sequential manner by using the model comparison technique. The vector space generated by the model matrix can be composed of orthogonal vector subspaces spanned by submatrices consisting of column vectors related to the parameters. It is discussed how to get the Type I sums of squares by using the projections into the orthogonal vector subspaces.

  • As the contemporary times entered, the attention focused on the 'human's perception on a space' as much as on that a space's physical structure, so the meaning of a space became defined depending on how a person thought over and behaved in the space. As this age is the times of consilience and integration, a space accepts new technologies beyond being defined simply based on the space's structure and its shape and tries to provide different, 'strange experiences' from tho se felt by the human until now. Recently in the filed of space design, it can be seen that the spae design's connection with various technologies affects on considerable influence on the all fields of culture and arts like space marketings, media arts, exhibitions and performances as well as the buildings. Especially. the fusion of digital images and architecture is actively developed. Images possessing the moving light's attributes shine a city night and day and a building changes a city's appearance itself by adding new materials on the surface of building. It is the purpose of this study to study what new experiences the human gets and creates from his interaction with spaces based on such technological fusion. By studying some cases that used the digital media as a mediating instrument as the way presenting spatial experiences to the human, this study intended to identify what design factors were applied and to find appropriate directions for space desig in relation to what new trials can be done.

  • Despite of the development of medical equipments and technology. Pancreatic cancer has maked high false positive rate and low survival rate compared to other cancers. Therefore, early catch of pancreatic cancer is the only way to enhance the viability. It is important to find the exact location of the pancreas cancer in early stage. The method of optimum scan for early detection of pancreatic cancer on PET/CT exam is proposed. Examined the anatomical region that potentially can be missing from the supine position of ordinary pet/ct exam. The characteristics and usefulness of angle variation ($0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$) of patients scan position is analyzed. The proposed scan method (named JJ-projection) is bringing advantage of anatomical discrimination by separating stomach, liver, gallbladder duodenum and pancreas. ROC curve analysis is shows to advantage of the JJ-Projection method. The sensitivity has increased 4.6% than the supine delay scan method, the results sensitivity has increased from 91% to 95.2%. The specificity has increased from 75.1% to 84%. Compared with the results observed in cancer by biological biopsy, The accuracy has increased from 86.8% to 94.1%.

  • This paper proposes an efficient method of object identification and localization for image recognition. The new proposed algorithm utilizes correlogram back-projection in the YCbCr chromaticity components to handle the problem of sub-region querying. Utilizing similar spatial color information enables users to detect and locate primary location and candidate regions accurately, without the need for additional information about the number of objects. Comparing this proposed algorithm to existing methods, experimental results show that improvement of 21% was observed. These results reveal that color correlogram is markedly more effective than color histogram for this task. Main contribution of this paper is that a different way of treating color spaces and a histogram measure, which involves information on spatial color, are applied in object localization. This approach opens up new opportunities for object detection for the use in the area of interactive image and 2-D based augmented reality.
