  • In the QR Decomposition-based (QRD) decoding class, the system performance is sensitive to the error propagation. Thus, it is critical to correctly decode the previous layers. One approach to desensitize the error propagation is to propose the optimal decoding order of layers. In this work, we propose a new extended-list Sorted QRD-base (SQRD) decoding approach. In the proposed decoding scheme, the solution of the few first layers is extended as the list of promising possible solutions. By doing so, the diversity of the lowest layer is increased. As a result, the system performance is less sensitive to the error propagation than its counterparts. The proposed approach is verified by the computer simulation results.

  • In order to use a GPS antenna for launch vehicles, it should be installed on the skin of the vehicle and be able to normally receive the live GPS signals during the vehicle's full flight mission. The GPS antenna on the surface of the launch vehicle is, however, exposed to higher temperature than inner equipments of the vehicle due to aerodynamic heating generated during the flight. Test specification of the GPS antenna for qualification of hot-temperature is determined to $+95^{\circ}C$ that is higher than inner components by $25^{\circ}C$. Test results in this paper show that the GPS antenna normally operates under the above environment.

  • Thin, Boron-doped conducting diamond films are expected to be excellent electrodes for industrial electrolysis. Boron-doped conducting diamond films were used as anode for generating ozone gas by electrolysis of acidic solution. In this work, we have studied ozone generating system using Boron-doped Diamond electrode. Electrochemical cell and ozone generating system were designed for decreasing the temperature of the system, which was elevated during the reaction. by circulation of electrolyte in the system. In order to determine the ozone generation properties of diamond electrode, experimental conditions, electrolyte concentration, temperature, flow rate and reaction time were varied diversely. As a result, we could confirm that ozone gas was generated successfully and the performance of diamond electrode was stable while PbO$_2$ electrode was disintegrated. Actually we are found that ozone amount increased by lowering the temperature of electrolyte.

  • Recently, with the sensor technology, research about the electronic nose system which imitated the olfactory organ are being pushed actively. But, in case of general electronic nose system, an aroma is measured at the laboratory space where blocked external environment and is analyzed a part of measured data. In this paper, we propose the system which can measure and recognize an aroma in natural environment. We propose the Entropy algorithm which can detect the sensor reaction section among the continuous detection processing about an aroma. And we implement the aroma recognition system using the PCA(Principal Components Analysis) and K-NN(K-Nearest Neighbor) about the detected aroma. In order to evaluate the performance, we measured the aroma pattern, about 9 aroma oil, 50 times respectively. And we experimented the aroma detection and recognition using this. There was an error of 0.2s in the aroma detection and we get 84.3% recognition rate of the aroma recognition.

  • This paper evaluates probabilistic reliability of KEPCO system using TRELSS, which is a probabilistic reliability evaluation program for large-scaled power system. In order to systematically evaluate probabilistic reliability of KEPCO system, contingency cases causing load loss in (N-1) & (N-2) contingency depth was analyzed and reliability indices such as LOLP, EDLC, EENS according to change of FOR was calculated.

  • A job sequencing model is developed and its computer system is tested for processing cold-rolled coils in Tandem Cold Mills(TCM) at the Pohang Iron and Steel Company. Given coils waiting to be processed, this system generates a sequence of jobs satisfying operational constraints for the TCM process. We formulate the problem as a constraint satisfaction problem and employ the backtracking technique combined with looking ahead features in order to generate a feasible solution within a reasonable time. Our system is implemented in C language on 80486-based IBM PC. Some tests based on the real data show that our system is adequate with respect to search time and that it consistantly generates a good feasible solution.

  • Interference occurs by signals received from directions that were different from the signals of the users in a mobile communication system. Various studies have been undertaken, including diversity, equalizer, etc., in order to reduce interference. In this study, the weighted value of the array antenna was obtained to improve signal-to-noise ratio. The weighted value was obtained as an eigen value and an eigen vector by using the correlation coefficient of the signal. The weighted value obtained was then applied to the CDMA system to increase system performance and capacity. Both QPSK and OQPSK modulation systems were applied to analyze performance.

  • In this paper, We analyzes how a synchronization error affects receiving system when using OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) transmission method in wireless LAN channel environment in which we can efficiently transmit wide-band information data. As a performance improvement method, performance distortion can be improved by applying convolution coding. As a result, in OFDM system, we could see that the higher a frequency offset is, the worse performance will be, and we could see that there was performance improvement by applying convolution coding in OFDM system in order to reach (BER=$10^{-3}$). However, when we use 64QAM (64Quadrature Amplitude Modulation), there was a huge influence between carriers by frequency offset at 0.05, 0.1.

  • In order to achieve a essential requirement for the driving system of electric vehicles, that is, starting pick-up ability, a wound-type induction motor with double-rotor structure is proposed. Slip Power Recovery system is adopted to improve the efficiency in the low speed range and to control speed of this system. Theoretical analysis and experimental results from 300[W] prototype motor is presented to verify the improvement of pick-up ability and high-efficiency driving characteristics through the wide speed range, especially under the low speed range.

  • The current paper focuses the analysis of leakage detection in water pipeline systems by means of the transient method. In order to obtain essential data for evaluation the existing methodology, an extensive experimental process has been carried out in a single pipeline system, Several experimental tests were performed with and without a leakage in the system. Using the unsteady friction and improved unsteady friction factors gives reasonable match between the computed and measured results on the condition of the flow situations presented in the paper. The transient method attempts to estimate the leakage in water pipelines using observed pressure data collected during transient events on the system.
