A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for $AgGaSe_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, $AgGaSe_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy(HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were $630^{\circ}C\;and\;420^{\circ}C$, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $AgGaSe_2$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)=1.9501eV-(8.79x10^{-4}eV/K)T^2(T+250K)$. After the as-grown $AgGaSe_2$ single crystal thin films was annealed in Ag-, Se-, and Ga-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of $AgGaSe_2$ single crystal thin films has been investigated by the photoluminescence (PL) at 10K. The native defects of $V_{Ag},\;V_{Se},\;Ag_{int},\;and\;Se_{int}$ obtained by PL measurements were classified as a donors or accepters type. And we concluded that the heat-treatment in the Ag-atmosphere converted $AgGaSe_2$ single crystal thin films to an optical p-type. Also, we confirmed that Ga in $AgGaSe_2$/GaAs did not form the native defects because Ga in $AgGaSe_2$ single crystal thin films existed in the form of stable bonds.

There is extensive tubing pipe in the nuclear power plant under high temperature and pressure. Erosion and corrosion defects are expected on this tubing pipe due to environmental and mechanical factors. In this study, Guided Ultrasonic Wave technique was applied to detect defects. The technique explores the advantages of the Guided Ultrasonic Wave method that inspects along the wall of the pipe and can travel long distances, providing rapid collection of data. This paper presents a case study of the Guided Ultrasonic Wave testing of 3/8" tubing pipe. This study offers to understand detected signals through correlation between amplitude and depth of defects.
Platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF) has been shown to play an important role in periodontal regeneration. The purpose of the present study was to examine the distribution of PDGF in experimentally created periodontal intrabony defects after flap surgery with various bone graft materials. Six healthy mongrel dogs were used in this study. Three-wall bony defects were created in maxillary and mandibular premolars, inflammation induced by wire ligation and injection of impression material into the defects. Eight weeks later, the experimental lesions thus obtained were treated by plain flap surgery(control group), flap surgery plus autogenous bone graft(autogenous bone group), flap surgery plus Biocoral graft(Biocoral group), or flap surgery plus bioglass graft(bioglass group), which were randomly assigned to the defects. After 4, H, and 12 weeks postoperatively, 2 dogs were sacrificed at each time and 1he specimens were taken for histological examinations and immunohistochemical examinations for PDGF. In the control defects the amount of new bone formation was minimal. In the autogenous bone and Biocoral group new bone was deposited around implanted particles and the amount of new bone was increased with time. A large number of bioglass particles exibited a central excabation and bone formation could be observed in the central excabation as well as around the particles. The expression of PDGF was low in the control group. The expression of PDGF in Biocoral group was increased at 1, H week, but decreased at 12 week. The increased PDGF expression in autogenous bone and bioglass group was maintained to the end of the experiment.

Local wall thinning is a point of concern in almost all steel structures such as pipe lines covered with a thermal insulator made up of materials with low thermal conductivity(fiberglass or mineral wool); hence, Non Destructive Technique(NDT) methods that are capable of detecting the wall thinning and defects without removing the insulation are necessary. In this study we developed a Pulsed Eddy Current(PEC) system to detect the wall thinning of Ferro magnetic steel pipes covered with fiber glass thermal insulator and shielded with Aluminum plate. The developed system is capable of detecting the wall thickness change through an insulation of thickness 10cm and 0.4mm aluminum shielding. In order to confirm the thickness change due to wall thinning, two different sensors, a hall sensor and coil sensor were used as a detecting element. In both cases, the results show a very good change corresponding to the thickness change of the test specimen. During these experiments a carbon steel tube of diameter 210mm and a length of 620mm, which is covered with insulator of 95mm thickness was used. To simulate the wall thinning, the thickness of the tube is changed for a specified length such as 2.5mm, 5mm and 8 mm from the inner surface of the tube. A 0.4mm thick Aluminum plate was covered on the Test specimen to simulate the shielding of the insulated pipelines. For both hall sensor and coil detection methods Fast Fourier transform(FFT) was calculated using window approach and the results for the test specimen without Aluminum shielding were summarized which shows a clear identification of thickness change in the test specimen by comparing the magnitude spectra. The PEC system can detect the wall thinning under the 95 mm thickness insulation and 0.4 mm Al shielding, and the output signal showed linear relation with tube wall thickness.

Purpose: Nasal defect can be caused by excision of tumor, trauma, inflammation from foreign body reaction. Nose is located in the middle of face and protruded, reconstruction should be done in harmony with size, shape, color, and textures. We report various methods of nasal reconstruction using local flaps. Methods: From March 1998 to July 2008, 36 patients were operated to reconstruct the nasal defects. Causes of the nasal defects were tumor (18 cases), trauma (11 cases), inflammation from foreign body reaction (5 cases) and congenital malformation (2 cases). The sites of the defects were ala (22 cases), nasal tip (8 cases) and dorsum (6 cases). The thickness of the defects was skin only (5 cases), dermis and cartilagenous layer (7 cases) and full-thickness (24 cases). According to the sites and thickness of the defects, various local flaps were used. Most of alar defects were covered by nasolabial flaps or bilobed flaps and the majority of dorsal and tip defects were covered by paramedian forehead flaps. Small defects below $0.25 cm^2$ were covered with composite graft or full-thickness skin graft. Results: The follow-up period was 14 months. Partial flap necrosis was observed in a case, and one case of infection was reported, it was improved by wound revision and antibiotics. Nasal reconstruction with various local flaps could provide satisfactory results in terms of color and texture match. Conclusion: The important factors of nasal reconstruction are the shape of reconstructed nose, color, and texture. Nasolabial flap is appropriate method for alar or columellar reconstruction and nasolabial island flap is suitable for tip defect. The defect located lateral wall could be reconstructed with bilobed flap for natural color and texture. Skin graft should be considered when the defect could not afford to be covered by adjacent local flap. And entire nasal defect or large defect could be reconstructed by paramedian forehead flap.

This perform research of angle rated defect detection conditions and nuclear power plant piping defect detection by lock-In infrared thermography technique. Defects were processed according to change for wall-thinning length, Circumference orientation angle and wall-thinning depth. In the used equipment IR camera and two halogen lamps, whose full power capacitany is 1 kW, halogen lamps and target pipe's distance fixed 2 m. To analysis of the experimental results ensure for the temperature distribution data, by this data measure for defect length. Reliability of lock-In infrared thermography data is higher than Infrared thermography data. This through research, Shape of angle rated defect is identified industry place. It help various angles defect detection in the nuclear power plant in operation.
The evaporating materials for $MgGa_2Se_4$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, $MgGa_2Se_4$ compounded polycrystal powder was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulated GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy (HWE) method system. The source and substrate temperatures of optimized growth conditions, were $610^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$, respectively. The source and substrate temperatures were $610^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $MgGa_2Se_4$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)=2.34\;eV-(8.81{\times}10^{-4}\;eV/K)T^2/(T+251\;K)$. After the as-grown $MgGa_2Se_4$ single crystal thin films was annealed in Mg-, Se-, and Ga-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of $MgGa_2Se_4$ single crystal thin films has been investigated by the photoluminescence (PL) at 10 K. The native defects of $V_{Mg}$, $V_{Se}$ obtained by PL measurements were classified as a donors or acceptors type. And we concluded that the heat-treatment in the Se-atmosphere converted $MgGa_2Se_4$ single crystal thin films to an optical n-type. Also, we confirmed that Ga in $MgGa_2Se_4$/GaAs did not form the native defects because Ga in $MgGa_2Se_4$ single crystal thin films existed in the form of stable bonds.

The cell wall integrity (CWI) signaling pathway plays important roles in the dissemination and infection of several plant pathogenic fungi. However, its roles in the pepper fruit anthracnose fungus Colletotrichum scovillei remain uninvestigated. In this study, the major components of the CWI signaling pathway-CsMCK1 (MAPKKK), CsMKK1 (MAPKK), and CsMPS1 (MAPK)-were functionally characterized in C. scovillei via homology-dependent gene replacement. The ΔCsmck1, DCsmkk1, and ΔCsmps1 mutants showed impairments in fungal growth, conidiation, and tolerance to CWI and salt stresses. Moreover, ΔCsmck1, ΔCsmkk1, and ΔCsmps1 failed to develop anthracnose disease on pepper fruits due to defects in appressorium formation and invasive hyphae growth. These results suggest that CsMCK1, CsMKK1, and CsMPS1 play important roles in mycelial growth, conidiation, appressorium formation, plant infection, and stress adaption of C. scovillei. These findings will contribute to a better understanding of the roles of the CWI signaling pathway in the development of pepper fruit anthracnose disease.
To assess contribution of T1-201 rest-24 hour delay redistribution in detection of viable myocardium, we studied the predictive value of this redistribution in 17 patients who peformed rest-24 hour delay perfusion SPECT before bypass surgery. Regional wall motion was compared with gated SPECT in 10 patients and echocardiography in 7 patients before and after bypass surgery. Rest and 24 hour delayed uptakes were scored from 0 (normal perfusion) to 3 (defect). In rest SPECT, 56 segments showed perfusion decrease. Thirty four segments(61%) improved after surgery and were defined as viable Nineteen(34%) segments had more uptake of T1-201 at 24 hour delay, and the other 37 segments did not. In 81%(25/31) of segments with mildly decreased perfusion, wall motion after bypass surgery improved, 57% (8/14) of segments with severely decreased perfusion improved, and 9%(1/11) of segments with defects improved. In 14 among 19 segments which had more T1-201 uptakes at 24 hour delay, wall motion was improved(positive predictive value of redistribution: 74%). 20 among 37 segments which had persistent decreases in rest-24 hour redistribution improved and 17 did not(negative predictive value: 46%). Segments having severe perfusion decrease or defects showed improved wall motion after surgery in 64%(7/11), if it had redistribution at delay. Segments with either mildly decreased uptake in resting or rest-delayed redistribution showed improved wall motion in 76%(32/42). Among the 14 segments which showed improvement in wall motion, 10 had partial reversibility in stress-rest images and the other 4 had persistent perfusion defects in stress-rest images. These 4 segments were found viable only with rest-24 hour delayed perfusion SPECT. We concluded that rest T1-201 uptake or redistribution at 24 hour delay should be referred as an evidence to warrant postoperative improvement of abnormal wall motion and we could predict myocardial viability with preoperative rest-24 hour delay perfusion SPECT in the segments with rest perfusion decreases.
Fifty-nine cases of congenital chest wall defects experienced in the department of thoracic surgery of Seoul National University Hospital were analyzed and the relevant literatures were reviewed. They are 52 cases of funnel chest, 3 cases of pigeon breast, one case of superior sternal fissure, one case of costochondral incurvation, one case of Cantrell`s pentalogy, and one case of Poland`s syndrome. Funnel chest affected males more frequently than females by 44 to 8. All of the funnel deformities were corrected by Ravitch operation or its modification except one which was the first case of this series and was corrected by a sterno-turnover. Two cases required a mechanical ventilation for 3 days and 5 days respectively. Four minor complications which were two cases of skin wound infection and 2 cases of fluid accumulation were noted. Skin would infection was repaired by a secondary closure and fluid accumulation was treated by aspiration only. The result are all excellent without recurrence or reoperation. In 3 cases of pigeon breast, they were treated by subperichondrial resection of all of the involved costal cartilages and shortening their course with reefing sutures in the perichondrium with excellent result. The superior sternal fissure which was combined by a ventricular septal defect was treated by a simple wire closure with a good result. The costochondral incurvation was corrected by subperichondrial resection of deformed cartilages and a rib graft removed from the contralateral normal side. The Poland syndrome and the Cantrell`s pentalogy was already presented previously.
