In this study, the competitive development of leaf in Amaranthus and Chenopodium were invesitgated by the complemented plastochron index. The value of PI for Amaranthus was not varied with competional ratios, while for Chenopodium it was varied. Namely in Chenopodium, the plastochron 1 was increased as competitional combinations, the plastochron 2 was decreased. These results indicated Amaranthus had advantage in competition over Chenopodium. It is surmised that these results were exhibited differences in photosynthetic pathway between Amaranthus (C4 plant) and Chenopodium (C3 plant). The linear patterns were clearly demonstrated by the differences in leaf arrangement between Amaranthus (alternate type) and Chenopodium (opposite type). From these resultss, use of plastochron seems to a useful means of evaluating plat response to various environments.

As a corollary, we obtain that if X is connected and locally connected, then $\alpha X = sup {X \cup_f S(f)$\mid$f \in S^{\alpha}}$ for any compactification $\alpha X$ of X if and only if X is 1-complemented.

This study was carried out to identify the problems and policy alternatives for the improvement of living conditions and environmentally friendly agriculture. The results of surveys on the current situations of living conditions in the rural areas revealed that the main cause of depopulation in Korean rural villages was the lack of social infrastructure and income sources. The current government policies for agriculture geared mainly for improvement of international comparative competitiveness will result in the further disadvantage against the mountainous regions with marginal agricultural lands. Therefore, it is recommended that the agricultural policy should be complemented by the environmental and social policies in the less favoured areas. This can be justified by the fact that the demand for environmental public goods such as recreational opportunities in rural settings uncontaminated by the industrial wastes is growing.

The micro optical parts such as ferrules are required to be manufactured within very small tolerances, as the slight deviation of the tolerance would give very large amount of loss in communication efficiency. For efficient optical communication, outer diameter, fiber diameter, fiber separation and eccentricity are significant parameters to be inspected., Thus we developed an automatic inspection system to evaluate shape parameters of the optical fiber connectors(ferrule) upto submicron accuracy using machine vision. new optical probe of multi fields of views has been developed and the image processing and data analysis algorithms have been complemented in real time basis. The developed system is successfully used in the practical ferrule manufacturing industry, and about 0.1$\mu\textrm{m}$ accuracy can be obtained with very fast inspection time.

It is well known that the approximation property and the compact approximation property are not hereditary properties; that is, a closed subspace M of a Banach space X with the (compact) approximation property need not have the (compact) approximation property. In 1973, A. Davie [2] proved that for each 2 < p < $\infty$, there is a closed subspace $Y_{p}$ of $\ell_{p}$ which does not have the approximation property. In fact, the space Davie constructed even fails to have a weaker property, the compact approximation property. In 1991, A. Lima [12] proved that if X is a Banach space with the approximation property and a closed subspace M of X is locally $\lambda$-complemented in X for some $1\leq\lambda < $\infty$, then M has the approximation property.(omitted)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the caregiving and adaptation in families who awarded on filial piety. Using the qualitative methods-in depth interview genogram ecomap participation observation- 8 families were analyzed The major findings can be summarized as follows (1) These families showed very high family solidarity with strong collectivity. Their family role was interchangable and their familiarity was passed down from generation to generation. (2) Family members showed similar coping patterns on the basis of their own adaptationl Their coping was inclined toward acceptance especially religioous rather than emotional-focused ad hardly avoidance coping. (4) Although their economic emotional and service cares were family-centered with helps from their extended family household equipment for elder care was not prepared. (5) These families preferred to maintain this condition rather than to be well adapted. It was concluded that to help failed elder's family care iving social support program should be complemented in family life enrichment program for their children medical care program equipment rental program for elder in social network religion program and so on, Social norms forparent-children relation has be changed to more flexible care pattern. Also more social-emotional support has to be given to these families.

According to the current trend of single arm type pantograph for high speed trail korean pantograph designed to single arm type will be installed on each power car roof of prototype train of korean very high speed rail configured to 7 cars and have the characteristics of maximum 1% contact loss at 350 km/h speed. This study is devoted to design basically element components of pantograph for korean very high speed train on the basis of kinematic analysis, static analysis and dynamic analysis, followed by making the basic drawings of korean pantograph. This drawings will be complemented through certification tests of prototype pantograph and verification of analysis software.

Korean Emission Trading Scheme entered into force on 1 January 2015. As other Emission Trading Systems, Korean Emission Trading System also have some deficiencies to be complemented and improved. Thus, the issues that are related to legal characteristics of emission allowance and its status as a financial instrument, terminology, requisites for the designation of the business entities eligible for allocation, banking and borrowing, and the non-permanence problems in the forestry offset mechanism are reviewed and the directions of the improvement are presented. The review of the Korean Emission Trading Scheme and its relevant act and the presidential decree at its early stage may be helpful for the Korean ETS to be firmly settled and to operate properly.

Factors affecting regeneration of different Rubus varieties (blackberry, raspberry and their hybrid) were examined and a reliable regeneration system was established. Media for stock plant maintenance were tested; different explants and media were investigated to find the best circumstances for the regeneration. The effect of the commonly used antibiotics was studied to determine the most suitable one for selection of the transformants. We found that both MS and LS media supplemented by $20\;gL^{-1}$ sucrose are suitable for the stock plant maintenance. The optimal hormone content for the stock plants is $0.125\;mgL^{-1}$ 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) with $0.01\;mgL^{-1}$ indole-3- butyric acid (IBA). The highest regeneration rate was observed on medium containing MS salts with B5 vitamins complemented with glucose, sucrose, maltose, $10\;gL^{-1}$ each, supplemented with benzylaminopurine riboside (BAR) ($2\;mgL^{-1}$) and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) ($0.1\;mgL^{-1}$). The regenerated shoots appeared directly from the cut edges, without callus phase. Hygromycin and geneticin proved to be good selection agents for the Rubus explants, but due to their severe effect on the tissues we propose to use marker-free constructions for the transformation.
