  • In recent years, the demand of mobile device, such as digital camera, camcoder and PDA, increases remarkably. So, requirements of the mobile information data storage used in the mobile devices increase noticeably also. 1" micro storage is a kind of mobile storage, which has a CF type II form factor, and the similar structure of the general 3.5" HDD.   • This paper describes the coordinated droop control method for stand-alone type DC micro-grid to improve reliability and utilization of distributed generations and energy storage. The stand-alone type DC micro-grid consists of several distributed generations such as a wind power generation, solar power and micro-turbine, and energy storage. The proposed method which is based on autonomous control method shows high reliability and stability through coordinated droop control of distributed generations and energy storage and also capability of battery management. The operation of stand-alone type DC micro-grid was analyzed using detail simulation model with PSCAD/EMTDC software. Based on simulation results, a hardware simulator was built and tested with commercially available components and performance of system was verified.

  • This paper has dealt with the heat storage characteristics of gel type micro size latent heat storage material slurry. The heat release operation to the gel type micro size latent heat storage material slurry was carried out using hot air bubbles by direct contact heat exchange. This experiment was carried out using phase change material of n-paraffin so the heat release amount is higher than cold water system. The parameters of this experiment were concentration of latent heat phase change material, height of heat release bath and inlet velocity of hot air. The main results obtained are as follows : (1) The effect of concentration of latent heat phase change material dispersed with water is very affective to the direct contact heat exchange between hot air and gel type micro size latent heat storage material slurry. (2) It is clarified that the most effective concentration of latent heat phase change material dispersed with water exists around 20mass% at this type of direct heat exchange model experiment.

  • In this paper, we experimentally investigated compensation method of the mechanical errors for the micro holographic storage. The aim of this research was overcome of disc tilt and spherical aberration problems. The proposed method was performed by using glass plate and zoom optics.

  • In this paper, we investigate the confocal filter for high quality reading signal of micro holographic data storage system. The confocal filter is used to remove crosstalk effects of adjacent recording-layer by multi-layer multiplexing method. To remove a noise of reading signal, we consider size and geometrical structure of filter. From the obtained results, we present optical characteristics including Fresnel and Fraunhofer diffraction effects. Finally, we propose the optimal confocal filter for good image quality and increased reflection power.

  • The next generation of optical storage systems requires higher numerical aperture(NA) objective lenses and shorter wavelength laser in order to improve the unit areal density. A blu-ray technology satisfies a miniaturization and a high capacity which are the requirements of the portable device. In this paper, we analyze the optical performance of hybrid micro lens and do active alignment. The hybrid micro lens is manufactured by using a wafer based fabrication technology. Optical components of hybrid micro lens are evaluated. The measurement of the optical power, the spot size and the wavefront error are performed to evaluate the hybrid micro lens with NA 0.85. Using the measured data, we estimate if the performance of hybrid micro lens corresponds to the designed performance. After the performance of hybrid micro lens is evaluated. the integrated optical pickup and the hybrid micro lens are assembled by active alignment using UV curing and the optical performance of SFFOP is satisfied with BD specifications.

The self acting air-lubricated ceramic bearing Is superior to the fluid bearing and the ball bearing on power consumption.

경사모세관법에 의한 우의 적혈구침강 속도에 미치는 환경온도의 영향 (Effect of Ambient Temperature on Bovine Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate as Measured by Angled Capillary Method)

  • In this study, the effect of ambient temperature on the 45$^{\circ}$micro ESR/hr of cattle blood were observed, and a correction chart for correcting observed values at any ambient temperature to standard values at 20$^{\circ}C$ was plotted. Besides, the effect of storage temperature of blood on the 45$^{\circ}$micro ESR/hr was surveyed. The results were as follows: 1. The values of the 45$^{\circ}$micro ESR/hr were increased as the ambient temperature were elevated(P<0.01), and lower the value of PCV, higher the effect of temperature on the 45$^{\circ}$micro ESR/hr was observed(P<0.01). 2. Regression of values of 45$^{\circ}$micro ESR to ambient temperature in all the group of different level of blood PCV showed linear regression with the highly significant coefficient of correlation. With the results, correction chart was drawn as in Fig. 1. 3. In the purpose to verify the reliability of correction chart, observed values of 45$^{\circ}$micro ESR/hr in field(out door) were corrected to values at 20$^{\circ}C$ by the correction chart(Fig. 1), comparing with the observed values at 20$^{\circ}C$ of standard temperature. No significant differences were found between two groups mentioned above. 4. In the study on the effect of storage temperature of the blood on the 45$^{\circ}$micro ESR/hr, group of storage temperature at 5$^{\circ}C$ showed statistically no significant differences untill 24 hours in contrast with standard control group.

  • The tribological behavior of microsystems needs to be clearly understood in order to improve the reliability of precision components. For example, friction and wear phenomena pose serious problems in MEMS applications. As a first step to investigate the tribological behavior of such systems, an appropriate testing system must be acquired. In this work, a micro-wear tester based MEMS platform was designed. The main concern was to achieve a desirable range of horizontal displacement for the specimen holder and also to apply a normal force in the tens of ${\mu}N$ range. The structural analysis of the micro-wear tester showed that the proposed design satisfied these requirements while maintaining the structural integrity.
