Comparison Osmotic Fragility of Erythrocyte Domestic Chicken, Duck, Quail, Dog, and Pig (가금과 보유가축 적혈구의 삼수적 취약성의 비교)

  • The study was attempted to scrutinize the normal osmotic fragility of erythrocytes in domestic poultry such as chicken, quail and duck making a comparison with that in domestic mammalia such as dog and pig. Osmotic fragility of erythrocytes was determined on blood samples from 10 healthy adult animal in each species. Optical initial hemolysis of erytyrocytes occurred at $0.395{\pm}0.03%$ Nacl for chicken, $0.410{\pm}0.03%$ for duck, $0.440{\pm}0.02%$ for quail, $0.470{\pm}0.05%$ for dog and $0.560{\pm}0.03%$ for pig. Optical complete hemolysis of erytyrocytes occurred at $0.270{\pm}0.02%$ Nacl for chicken, $305{\pm0}.03%$ for duck, $0.360{\pm}0.02%$ for quail, $0.370{\pm}0.03%$ for dog and $0.455{\pm}0.03%$ for p. In other words, erythrocytes of poultry have stronger resistance to osmotic Iysis than that of mammalia, showing the strongest resistance In chicken among the tested poultry.

  • This report investigates antifungal activity and effects of growth promotion by biosurfactant produced from Bacillus sp. LP03 and TBM40-3 against fungus causing plants disease (Glay Mold-Botrytis cinerea). Antifugal activity against B. cinerea infeeted to leek (Allium tuberosum Rottler) exhibited better than antifungal agent farming drug (smilex, Dong bang agro., Seoul, Korea.) through the field test. After infected by plant's disease, the leaves growth and number are maintained under presenting biosurfactant produced strains. Especially, one of the strains, named Bacillus sp. LP03 showed strong antifungal activity on field studies.

  • LUTCHI와 새로이 수집된 CII-Kwak 데이터를 이용하여 테스트한 결과 CIECAM02를 비롯해 현재까지 개발된 주된 color appearance model들이 몇 가지 중요한 color appearance 현상들을 설명하지 못한다는 것이 발견되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복하기위해 새로이 개발된 Kwak03 모델이 소개되었다. Kwak03 모델은 CIECAM02에 기초하고 있으나 achromatic signal에서 cone 신호들의 비율, dynamic response 함수 등 많은 면에서 큰 차이를 보인다. LUTCHI 및 CII-Kwak 데이터를 사용한 테스트 결과 Kwak03가 테스트된 모델들 중 특히 dark surround 하에서 휘도 및 배경색의 변화에 따른 색변화 예측에서 가장 우수한 결과를 보였다.

Development of strain-specific SCAR marker for selection of Pleurotus eryngii strains with higher β-glucan (베타글루칸 함량이 높은 큰느타리버섯 선발을 위한 SCAR marker 개발)

  • In this study, SCAR marker that differentiates Pleurotus eryngii strains with higher ${\beta}$-glucan from control strain was developed. Genomic DNAs of 9 control strains of Pleurotus eryngii and 9 Pleurotus eryngii strains with higher ${\beta}$-glucan were analyzed by bulked segregant analysis (BSA) using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). One-hundred twenty RAPD primers were screened on bulked DNA samples and a unique DNA fragment with the size of 91 bp was yielded by OP-R03 primer from the Pleurotus eryngii strains with higher ${\beta}$-glucan. A sequence characterized amplified region (SCAR) marker, designated as OP-R03-1-F and OP-R03-1-R, was designed on the basis of the determined sequence. The PCR analysis with the OP-R03-1 primer showed that this SCAR marker can clearly distinguish the Pleurotus eryngii strains with higher ${\beta}$-glucan from the control strains.

  • The relationship between particle size of hydro-thermally synthesized barium titanate powders (BT01, BT02, BT03, BT04, BT05) and the powder properties was investigated by means of particle size, specific surface area, zeta potential, XPS, XRD and SEM. Particle size determined by laser light scattering is closely related with specific surface area and the tetragonality (c/a) obtained from XRD. The specific surface area of the samples inversely decreased with increasing particle size except BT03 powder. BT03 sample showed higher surface area than BT04 sample of equivalent particle size, which was attributed mostly to the agglomeration of particles in terms of SEM image and XRD analysis. Zeta potential increased with increasing particle size with the exception of BT02 and BT03 which showed larger minus value of zeta potential in comparison with other BT powders. Beta potential results of BT02 and BT03 are considered to be related with the dissolution of $Ba^{2+}$ ion in these powers which was examined by XPS.

  • 지난 수년간 유럽을 중심으로 Carbonate의 PSD (Particle Size Distribution)가 도공지 의 백색도, 불투명도, Coverage등에 미치는 영향에 대하여 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 현재 국내의 Coating Pigment System 역시 Carbonate 위주로 구성되어 있으나, 입자 분포에 따른 실증적 연구가 선진국에 비하여 부족한 상태이다. 본 연구는 최근 유럽에서 사용 중인 Narrow PSD Carbonate가 도공지 품질에 미치는 영향을 검토한 것으로서, 특히 Multiple Coating에서의 도공층 구조변화와 그에 따른 백지물성 및 인쇄적성의 변화를 연구한 것이다. 실험의 Case는 Broad PSD CaC03와 Narrow PSD CaC03를 비 교하였 다 .. Color F Formulation은 Pre Color에서 #1 Clay 30 p따t와 각각 CaC03 70 p따t를 사용하였다. 그리고 바인더와 첨가제는 동일하게 사용하였다 .. Top color Formulation 또한 동일하 게 사용하였다. 코팅방식은 speed 450rrνmin, pre rod coating, top blade coating 방식 으로 CLC (Cy lindrical Laboratory Coater)를 사용하여 코팅하였다. 백지품질은 백색도, 평활도 ,광택도, 거칠음도, Bum Out Test와 Coverage( SEM 사 진 Z -direction) 등을 측정하였다. 인쇄품질은 인쇄 광택도, 인쇄 Picking strength와 2 도 인쇄 농도를 측정하였다. 백색도는 Narrow PSD CaC03를 사용한 것이 Broad PSD CaC03를 사용한 것 대비 약1% 우수하였다. 이것은 Narrow PSD CaC03를 사용한 것이 filter cake이 많이 open 되 어 있어 dewatering이 빠르고, Wet void volume이 증가되 어 부동화점 의 농도가 낮 아져 원지 층으로 침 투되 는 pigment가 작고 표층에 잔류하는 pigment와 void volume의 증가로 인해 기공층이 증가한 것으로 판단된다. 그리고, 백지광택도, 거칠음도 등 또한 Narrow PSD CaC03를 사용한 것이 우수하였 다. 이는 Pre color에서 coverage의 개선으로 top color층의 도공량 uniformity가 개선 된 이유라고 생각한다. 그러나 인쇄품질은 백지와 비교하여 차이가 없었다. 이것은 top 칼라 Formulation이 동일하고, 인쇄시 잉크흡수 거동은 top color 층에 주로 영향을 받기 때문이라고 판단 된다. 향후에는 인쇄품질의 향상을 위하여 Case 2의 CaC03 100% 사용가능성 및 Pre Color 는 Case 2로 고정하고, Top칼라를 변경하는 방법을 또한 생각할 필요가 있다고 판단된다.

Crystal Structures, Electrical Conductivities and Electrochemical Properties of LiCo1-XMgxO2(x=0.03) for Secondary Lithium Ion Batteries (리튬 2차 전지용 LiCo1-XMgxO2(x=0.03)의 결정구조, 전기전도도 및 전기화학적 특성)

  • [ $LiCoO_{2}$ ] is the most common cathode electrode materials in Lithium-ion batteries. $LiCo_{0.97}Mg_{0.03}O_2$ was synthesized by the solid-state reaction method. We investigated crystal structures, electrical conductivities and electrochemical properties. The crystal structure of $LiCo_{0.97}Mg_{0.03}O_2$ was analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction and Rietveld refinement. The material showed a single phase of a layered structure with the space group R-3m. The lattice parameter(a, c) of $LiCo_{0.97}Mg_{0.03}O_2$ was larger than that of $LiCoO_2$. The electrical conductivity of sintered samples was measured by the Van der Pauw method. The electrical conductivities of $LiCoO_2$ and $LiCo_{0.97}Mg_{0.03}O_2$ were $2.11{\times}10^{-4}\;S/cm$ and $2.41{\times}10^{-1}\;S/cm$ at room temperature, respectively. On the basis of the Hall effect analysis, the increase in electrical conductivities of $LiCo_{0.97}Mg_{0.03}O_2$ is believed due to the increased carrier concentrations, while the carrier mobility was almost invariant. The electrochemical performance was investigated by coin cell test. $LiCo_{0.97}Mg_{0.03}O_2$ showed improved cycling performance as compared with $LiCoO_2$.

Performance evaluation of submerged membrane bioreactor for model textile wastewater treatment

  • Submerged Membrane bioreactor (SMBR) is one of the last techniques that allow a high quality of treated industrial effluents by coupling biological treatment and membrane separation. Thus, this research was an effort to evaluate performance of a SMBR treating a model textile wastewater (MTWW). Different SMBR operating parameters like mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) and Dissolved oxygen concentration, hydraulic retention time (HRT), and nutrients addition (N and P) have been investigated. MTWW (influent to the SMBR) was generated using the reactive azo-dye, Novacron blue FNG (100mg/L feed concentration). Results of MTWW treatment using SMBR under optimal operating conditions (MLSS, 4.2-13.3g/L; HRT, 4 days; pH, 6.9-7.2; conductivity, 400-900 μS/cm and temperature, 19.4-22.2 ℃) showed that COD and blue colour treatment performances are between 94-98% and 30-80%, respectively. It is concluded that SMBR can be used in large scale textile wastewater treatment plants to improve effluent quality in order to meet effluent discharge standards.

Characteristics of Agronomy to Selected 3 Lines from Native Green Waxy Rice(Oryza sativa L.) (재래종 녹색현미찰벼로부터 선발한 3 계통의 농업적 특성)

  • In order to find out better cultivation practices for environmentally-friendly agriculture, an experiment with four fertilizer levels and one cultivar, 'Boseokchal', and three lines, GG-05-03, GG-05-04, and GG-05-07 was carried out. Those lines had been selected from native green waxy rice over a period of five years (2004~2008). The tillering numbers of both the GG-05-03 and GG-05-04 lines were similar, but GG-05-07 was less than those. Regarding plant height, both GG-05-04 and GG-05-07 were higher than 'Boseokchal', while GG-05-03 was similar to it. There was no marked difference of quantitative character amond the three lines regarding grain weight and grain number of ear. 1000-grain weights of all three lines were slightly light compared to 'Boseokchal' cultivar. Head rice yields of both the GG-05-03 and GG-05-07 lines were less than 'Boseokchal', but the GG-05-04 line was similar to it. Only total lipids of all compositions of brown rice showed a slightly different rate compared to 'Boseokchal'. These results summarize that the GG-05-07 line was shown to be better than both the GG-05-03 and GG-05-04 lines for environmentally-friendly agriculture practices.
