Design and Implementation of A Cyber Counseling System to Support Information for Student Guidance (학생지도 정보를 제공하는 사이버상담 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • Due to development of technology of information technology, PC communication and Internet have become a culture space of teenagers. Because Internet and PC communication are media in which teenagers have interests, they could be effectively used to counsel teenagers in that time they want. Moreover, cyber counseling will be suitable to new trend of current age with extension of counseling area. Accordingly, many researches on cyber counseling have proceeded in the area of teenagers counseling. While most researches for cyber counseling until present are about counseling methods ad the effects that teenagers utilize cyber counseling, there were no efforts that store counseling contents, analyze them using features and technologies of web and use them effectively to guide students. Therefore, we implemented a cyber counseling system that provides counseling information so that teacher may grasp students various interests and problems and thus helps to guide students.

A Study of Children's Attitudes Towards Learning Mathematics with Open-ended problems (개방형 문제를 이용한 학습에 대한 아동의 태도 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to transform questions in the 7th curriculum to open-ended problems and exam students' attitude towards open-ended problems. Research questions in this thesis are as follows: First, to transform questions in the 7th curriculum to open-ended problems and apply to a class in the fourth grade D elementary school. Second, to find how students respond to learning mathematics with open-ended problems. As a result of this study, the following are identified. First, the students showed positive reactions towards learning mathematics with open-ended problems. Those experience with open-ended problems make student solve mathematics problems with interest and confidence. Second, both good and bad students in the math class show interest and concentration toward open-ended problem. But a few students show less interest towards those problems. Third, through discussion about problem-solving with open-ended problems, students take part in math class actively and show respect one another. Fourth, especially students show more interest and confidence towards the open-ended problems transformed from mathematics textbook and like the constructive open-ended problems.

On the Direction of the Application of the Concepts of Computational Thinking for Elementary Education (Computational Thinking의 초등교육 활용 방향)

  • The notion of computational thinking is currently gaining much attention from a variety of disciplines. Accordingly, computer education community needs to address this issue for formal education. In the paper, the translation issue on the terminology - 'computational thinking' - is discussed. As a brief introduction to computational thinking the characteristics and necessities as well as its importance are presented. The types of learning computational thinking are presented, which are learning with computing tools on one hand and without them on the other hand. Furthermore, learning objectives of computational thinking as well as the contents are also investigated for the application of computational thinking in elementary education. A survey was conducted for thirty three elementary school teachers on behalf of investigating directions of teaching computational thinking in elementary education. It shows that almost all respondents agree to teaching computational thinking in formal education and it also shows other interesting results as stated in the paper.

  • This study aims to find methods to improve the scientific literacy of the youth, which comprise the group who will lead the upcoming era of knowledge and science. To do this, the study focuses on improving the youth's understanding of science and their ability to utilize it. It is widely recognized that scientific literacy Is highly essential in this era of scientific revolution and innovations. Accordingly, various kinds of programs are being developed in Korea and other countries. In particular, 'Project 2061' is designed to enable a permanent learning system by improving problem-solving ability through the scientific process. This system plays an Important role In supporting the Americans' Pursuit of Increased literacy in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. To improve the scientific literacy of young people, content development in relation with school courses as well as information services that arouse Interest and curiosity In the field of science is very important. In addition, It is necessary to develop a problem-solving program by stages. Further studies focusing on methods of improving scientific literacy of the youth are recommended.

Study on Educational Utilization Methods of Big Data (빅데이터의 교육적 활용 방안 연구)

  • In the recent rapidly changing IT environment, the amount of smart digital data is growing exponentially. As a result, in many areas, utilizing big data research and development services and related technologies is becoming more popular. In SMART learning, big data is used by students, teachers, parents, etc., from a perspective of the potential for many. In this paper, we describe big data and can utilize it to identify scenarios. Big data, obtained through customized learning services that can take advantage of the scheme, is proposed. To analyze educational big data processing technology for this purpose, we designed a system for big data processing. Education services offer the measures necessary to take advantage of educational big data. These measures were implemented on a test platform that operates in a cloud-based operations section for a pilot training program that can be applied properly. Teachers try using it directly, and in the interest of business and education, a survey was conducted based on enjoyment, the tools, and users' feelings (e.g., tense, worried, confident). We analyzed the results to lay the groundwork for educational use of big data.

DISTRIBUTION OF NITRIC OXIDE SYNTHASE ISOFORMS IN PERIORAL EXOCRINE GLANDS IN RATS (흰쥐 구강주위 외분비선에서 산화질소 합성동위효소의 분포)

  • 내인성 산화질소는 산화질소 합성효소에 의하여 합성되며 여러 분비선에서 다양한 기능을 하리라 추측되고 있다. 구강주위 외분비선은 형태적으로 유사하나 분비물의 성분과 분비량은 서로 달라 이들 조직에서 산화질소 동위효소의 분포와 기능을 추론함은 흥미 있는 일이다. 또한 구강주위 외분비선과 분비선의 지배신경의 산화질소동위효소의 분포에 관한 보고는 희박하다. 본 연구는 흰쥐구강 주위 외분비조직, 즉 3대 타액선, 혀의 소타액선, 누선 그리고 구강점막의 피지선과 지배신경 및 신경절에서 eNOS와 nNOS의 분포를 면역조직화학 방법에 의하여 관찰하여 다음의 결과를 얻었다. nNOS는 악하선신경절, 대타액선의 분비도관 주위의 신경절후신경섬유, 혀의 소타액선 주위의 신경절후섬유, 누선에서 강한 양성반응을 보였다. nNOS는 대타액선과 근상피세포에서 중등도의 양성반응을 보였고 이중 이하선에서 반응이 가장 약하였으며, 피지선의 분비관에서 약한 반응을 보였다. 그러나 상교감신경절과 삼차신경절, 소타액선의 분비관 및 대,소 타액선의 선포에서는 반응이 매우 미약하거나 관찰되지 않았다. eNOS는 혈관의 내피세포와 대타액선의 분비관, 누선의 분비관 및 선포에서 강한 양성 반응을 보였고, 근상피세포에서 중등도의 반응을, 피지선에서 약한 반응을 보였다. 모든 신경절과 신경섬유에서 eNOS의 반응은 음성이었고 타액선의 일부 선포에서는 미약한 면역반응을 보였다. 이상의 결과 eNOS에 의해 합성된 NO는 악안면영역의 외분비선에서 혈류량의 조절과 분비도관의 기능 조절에 관여하고, nNOS에 의한 NO는 외분비선의 자율신경계에서 신경전달물질로의 기능과 분비도관에서의 분비기능 조절에 관여함을 시사하였다.

Effects of extracurricular programs based on Smart Learning for enhancing competency of university students. (대학생 핵심역량 증진을 위한 스마트러닝기반 비교과교육의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to design smart learning based extracurricular program of the university and to analyze the effect of core competencies. This program was formed by 10 teams with S and K University in Seoul, and run a daily camp format to use smart devices and apps. As a result, the participating students, communication skill, self-directed and creativity increased significantly. In addition, the educational effects of this program was positive changes in the areas of 'communication', 'self-directed', 'cooperative learning', 'problem solving' in the focus group interview. And the students responded that the use of smart devices and apps help to immerse in the program and increase their interest. The purpose of this study is to suggest new models and implications for the extracurricular program. In the future, we hope to develop the various smart learning based extracurricular programs for enhancing the competencies.

Design and Implementation of Authoring Tools for Multimedia Production (멀티미디어 제작을 위한 저작도구의 설계 및 구현)

  • Due to the rapid development of information & communication technology under high performance computing environments, the multimedia production techniques have been applied to a variety of multimedia fields such as general banner advertisements including texts, images and animations, and the internet-broadcasting dealing with videos and sounds. This paper presents an authoring tool with main functions to setup events objects (image, animation, sound, button, area) and to setup action functions, so that non-experts can easily produce multimedia including images, sounds, animations and so on. The authoring tool implemented in Java can be applied to the CD-ROM title production as well as the web-site construction. We can expect that when this authoring tool is used for in multimedia production, both cost and time will be reduced due to its convenience and powerful functions. We have a future plan to integrate intelligent multimedia presentation techniques with the presented tool for the autonomous multimedia authoring works.

  • This study is to develop a web-based career guidance system to be a help making a decision on one's occupation, which is important for a person's life. As career development education for higher grades of elementary school aims at providing basic knowledge necessary for career choice and forming a basic attitude toward occupation and values, it is desirable to carry out the guidance of a variety of occupations on the basis of personal interest and aptitude of individual students. Previously, however, most studies have remained at the level where simply test results are notified. Therefore, the study administered a career development test fit for higher grades of elementary school who are at the stage of potential career choice and developed a web-based career guidance system in which suitable occupation types are advised of based on the results. Beyond notifying test results, the developed career guidance system presents 3 excellent intelligences, rather than converting test results into scores. Thus, it is expected that the system will help students understand their areas of excellent intelligence, efficiently study related occupation types and duties, and learn to have awareness and make a better decision in relation to their career.

  • In the 21st century, knowledge-based and information-based society requires not just the capability of applying mathematics simply but mathematical power such as problem-solving ability which composes and solves problems using mathematical knowledge in real-life and fields of various subjects. However, to develop mathematical power, we need various teaching and learning methods which raise basic mathematical knowledge, the inference capability, problem- solving ability, the flexibility of thinking, the expressing and transforming ability of mathematical ideas, perseverance, interest, intellectual curiosity, and creativity. In this paper, we develop the teaching-learning plans based on real life using the various methods of learning and then we analyze the change of students's cognition of mathematics and the students's reaction of the class.
