Generation of the Ortho-Rectified Photo Map and Analysis of the Three-Dimensional Image Using the PKNU 2 Imagery (PKNU2호 영상을 이용한 정사영상 지도 제작 및 3차원 입체 분석)

  • It is important for hydrographers to extract the accurate cross section of a river for the hydrographical analysis of the topography. Aerial photographs were used to extract the cross section of a river for the advantages of the accuracy and economical efficiency in this study, while the direct measurement has been used in existing studies. An ortho-rectified photo map using imageries taken by the PKNU 2 (High-resolution, multi-spectral, aerial photographic system developed by our laboratory) was generated using the surveyed data and a digital map. The cross section of a river that was obtained from the ortho-rectified by the surveyed Kinematic data of GPS was compared with the result using ImageStation stereo-plotter of corp. Z/I Imaging. As a result of this study, the RMSE in the ortho-rect process using the surveyed GPS data was lowered as from 5.5788 pixels (about 2m) to 2.84 (about 1m) in comparison with it in the process using a digital map. The surveyed kinematic GPS in extraction of the cross section of a river was excellent as 6.6cm of the planimetric and precision in the confidence level of 95%. The correlation coefficient between the result from the using stereo-plotter and the extraction of cross section of a river using aerial photos was 0.8 hydrographical acquisition of it using PKNU 2 imagery will be possible.

Non-Response Imputation for Panel Data (패널자료의 무응답 대체법)

  • Several non-response imputation methods are suggested, however, mainly cross-sectional imputations are studied and applied to this analysis. A simple and common imputation method for panel data is the cross-wave regression imputation or carry-over imputation as a special case of cross-wave regression imputation. This study suggests a multiple imputation method combined time series analysis and cross-sectional multiple imputation method. We compare this method and the cross-wave regression imputation method using MSE, MAE, and Bias. The 2008 monthly labor survey data is used for this study.

An Introductory Study for Developing the Urban Street Design Manual (도시부 도로의 구조시설.기준 작성 기초 연구 - 횡단구성을 중심으로 -)

  • Urbanization of Korea reaches up to 90% in the year 2003. What that means is that 90% of population live in the city areas. This phenomenon emphasizes importances of urban streets where people feel accessibility and level of environmental amenity, enjoy recreational activity, and live for a life. However, the current Korean manual for designing road is not enough to accomodate various activities of urban streets since its target is basically rural roads. This study proposes the necessity of a new design manual of urban streets via analyzing the practices of the development countries, and aims to recommend what should be prepared and how those are defined for developing a design manual of urban streets in Korea. It is inevitable that the design manual of urban streets be based on the flexibility and diversity. The manual should be made through consensus among the related stakeholders such as designers, residents and officials. And it also should reflect the characteristics of each city. It is somehow true that without the manual, designing of urban streets can be done although it is not fully acceptable. This does not mean that the necessity of the manual can be ignored. Rather, we should remember that the related stakeholders may not want to reveal what are hidden in developing the design manual of urban streets. What are hidden is that developing the design manual of urban streets is difficult problem to solve. It is a wish that this study triggers the on-going research and interests on developing the design manual of urban streets.

  • An analysis of railroad industry has been insufficient whereas there are lots of analysis of accumulation of technology, economic performances and ripple effects for macroscopic view and other industry of R&D investments. This study decided intellectual rights, patent, and paper as common indicators of scientific and technological performances for setting up performance targets through surveying and analysis of preceding study and verified a appropriateness of scientific and technological performances for railroad R&D 11 projects which were successfully finished. Preceding study has been set up performance targets by research investments as input, but this study made a performance target by model through a cross-sectional and residual analysis of performances of railroad R&D 11 Projects in applying research investments, capital investments and inner labor cost per man and research time as inputs, and verified a validity and a empirical analysis through analysis of other project.

  • Analysis of slope behavior concerning the structural characteristics of field rock mass can be processed by virtue of borehole information of joint orientation and position acquired from DOM drilled core. Anticipated sliding potential of pre-failed rock slope is analyzed and the regional slope instability is investigated by inspecting the hazardous joints and blocks the traces of which is projected on the cut-face. Cross section has been set at the center of rock slope and the traces of both joints and tetrahedral blocks, which potentially can induce the slope failure, are drawn to investigate the failure modes and the triggering mechanism. Automated monitoring system has been established to measure the slope movement and especially, inclinometer has been installed inside DOM borehole to analyze the slope movement by considering the internal rock structure. Algorithms for predicting the slope failure time have been reviewed and the significance of heavy rainfall on the slope behavior has been investigated.

A Longitudinal Analysis of the Union Effect on the Wages (패널자료를 이용한 노동조합의 임금효과 분석)

  • This paper estimates the union effect on the wages using Korean Labor and Income Panel Study by using fixed-effect estimation. While the cross-sectional estimates show the size of 4.6% increase in the wages of workers in the union compared 10 the observationally identical workers in the non-union jobs, the union wage effect is estimated as 2.1% increase in the panel study. This shows that there exits an substantial upward-bias in the cross-sectional estimation of union wage effect.

Conical Slope Stability of Tertiary Basalt Based on the Geological Cross-Sections (지질횡단면을 활용한 원추형 현무암 비탈면 안정성)

  • This study investigated a cut-slope surface containing Tertiary faults, representing a conical-shaped slope with strike varying from N44°E to NS, N50°W, and finally N70°E. The slope consists mainly of basalt, with discontinuities in the slope including faults, fault zones, fracture zones, shear joints, and extension joints. The type and scale of failure vary with the strike of the slope and the strikes of discontinuities, with plane and wedge failure predominating. Based on face-mapping data, SMR (slope mass rating), rock physical and mechanical properties, analysis of stereonet projections and geological cross-sections, and critical equilibrium analysis, optimal slope stability determination was found to involve the countermeasure method, the slope gradient relief method, the green soil surface treatment method, and a fall prevention measure. After application of the countermeasure method, both dry and wet slope conditions exceeded allowable safety factors. It is expected that the preparation of geological cross-sections of various representative sections perpendicular to the surface of the slope, and the application of corresponding countermeasure methods, will be reasonable tools for three-dimensional analysis of slope stability. If the strike of the slope varies widely, it is necessary to prepare geological cross-sections, and the section used for critical equilibrium analysis must be established as the basic section.

FLUMEN 모형을 이용한 만곡부 주변 사교의 영향 분석

  • 국내에서는 만곡 하천 횡단 구조물에 의한 흐름 분석이 대부분이며, 만곡부 상 하류에 걸쳐 사교(skew bridge)의 형태로 존재하는 교량에 의한 흐름 분석이 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 불규칙 삼각망을 이용하여 유한 체적법에 기반을 둔 2차원 모형으로 FLUMEN 모형을 선정하여 만곡부 상 하류에 사교형태로 위치한 교량에 의한 흐름 특성 변화를 분석하였다. 만곡부 상 하류부에 걸쳐 교량 건설 전후의 5개 횡단면과 하천중심선을 기준으로 3개의 종단면 흐름 특성을 분석하고, 1차원 수리모형 결과와 비교하였다. 만곡 상류부에 위치한 교량 상류 수심 분포는 대략 2.7%의 상승을 나타내고 유속은 우안에서 교량 건설 전보다 증가하며, 좌안 근처에서는 감소하여 분포하였다. 또한 만곡 출구부에 위치한 교량 하류부에서는 수심의 횡단분포는 교량 건설 전후 거의 일치하지만, 유속은 교량 건설 전보다 만곡 내측 주변에서 증가하고, 최대 유속 또한 약 6.5% 증가하여 만곡 내측에서의 단위 폭당 유량 증가가 명확하게 나타났다. 만곡부에서는 교량 건설 후 유속은 $4.39{\sim}7.02%$ 감소하며, 수심은 교량 건설 전에 비해 $3.27{\sim}4.76%$ 증가하여 나타났다.

Clinical Assessments and MRI Findings Suggesting Early Surgical Treatment for Patients with Medial Epicondylitis (내측상과염 환자의 임상항목과 자기공명영상 항목 중 조기 수술적 치료가 필요한 환자군이 갖는 인자에 관한 분석)

  • Purpose To evaluate the MRI findings and clinical factors that are characteristic of patients who ultimately undergo surgery for medial epicondylitis. Materials and Methods Fifty-two consecutive patients who were diagnosed with medial epicondylitis and underwent an elbow MRI between March 2010 and December 2018 were included in this retrospective study. The patients' demographic information, clinical data, and MRI findings were evaluated. All variables were compared between the conservative treatment and surgical treatment groups. Logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify which factors were associated with surgical treatment. Results Common flexor tear (CFT) tear size showed a statistically significant difference in both the transverse and longitudinal planes (p < 0.001, p = 0.013). The CFT abnormality grade significantly differed in both the transverse and longitudinal planes (p = 0.022, p = 0.003). A significant difference was also found in the medial collateral ligament abnormality (p = 0.025). Logistic regression analyses showed that only the transverse diameter of the CFT tear size (odds ratio: 1.864; 95% confidence interval: 1.264-2.750) was correlated with surgical treatment. Conclusion Of patients diagnosed with medial epicondylitis, patients with a larger transverse CFT tear size tend to undergo surgical treatment ultimately.

기본적(基本的) 변수(變數)와 주식수익률(株式收益率)의 관계(關係)에 관한 실증적(實證的) 연구(硏究)

  • 본 연구는 기업규모, 장부가치/시장가치 비율, 순이익/주가 비율, 현금흐름/주가 비율, 레버리지 등 기본적 변수를 사용하여 주식수익률에 유의적인 변수를 확인하고, 또한 Fama and French(1993) 등에 의해서 제시된 다요인모형(multi-factor model)이 한국주식시장에서 적용가능한 지를 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 Fama and MacBeth(1973)의 횡단면회귀모형과 Black, Jensen, and Scholes (1972)의 시계열모형을 사용하였으며, 실증분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 먼저 횡단면분석결과에 의하면, 장부가치/시장가치 비율(BE/ME), 현금흐름/주가 비율(C/P) 등이 주식수익률의 횡단면적 차이를 설명할 수 있는 유의적인 변수로 나타났다. 그리고 통계적 의미에서는 1월효과가 존재한다고 보기 어려우나, 경제적 의미에서 1월효과가 존재하는 것으로 생각된다. 시계열분석결과에 의하면, 시장요인, 기업규모요인, 장부가치/시장가치요인(또는 현금흐름/주가요인) 등의 3요인에 의해서 국내 주식수익률의 공통적 변동을 잘 설명할 수 있다. 즉 국내 증권시장에서도 Fama and French(1993)의 3요인모형이 성립될 수 있는 것으로 판단된다.
