The Relationships among High School Students' Epistemological Views on Theory and Data, Science Process Skills, Perceptions of Preferred Laboratory Learning Environment and Attitudes toward Laboratory Work (고등학생들의 이론과 자료에 대한 인식론적 관점과 과학 과정 기술, 선호하는 실험 학습 환경에 대한 인식, 실험 수업에 대한 태도 사이의 관계)

  • In this study, the relationships among high school students' epistemological views on theory and data, science process skills, the perceptions of the preferred laboratory learning environment and attitudes toward laboratory work were investigated. The results indicated that science process skills, all subcategories of the perceptions of the preferred laboratory learning environment (student cohesiveness, open-endedness, integration, rule clarity, and material environment) and attitudes toward laboratory work were significantly correlated with epistemological views on theory and data. The results of multiple regression analysis revealed that science process skills, open-endedness and material environment and attitudes toward laboratory work significantly predicted epistemological views on theory and data.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out high school students' perception on psychologicallearning environment generated by science teachers and their attitude change related to science. The subjectsconsisted of 539 freshmen in a boys' high school pre-applied of common school group in S city. This study wasconducted with students' perception survey and classification of teachers' features according to it. The surveyabout science-related attitude was also made in early 1st semester and 2nd semester, and the students showingthe great attitude change related to science were interviewed. The results of this study revealed that statistically,students had a more positive perception on female teachers than on male ones and that according to their teachers,there were clear different in the psychological learning environment perceived by students. As for the relation of teachers' features and students' attitude change, it showed the negative effect only when the teacher was incharge of only one class, but in most of the cases, there was no meaningful correlation. The semi-structuredinterview with students with great attitude change related to science indicated that the main cause of the changewas the achievement they made in class. The interview showed that the change related to science happenedunder the indirect influence of teachers rather than direct influence. Furthermore, students wanted scienceteachers to meet the science class possessing various instruction behaviors and support behaviors. Therefore,science teachers playing an important role in students' choice of career should make efforts to realize thelearner-centered curriculum and change students' science-related attitude into a positive direction.

A Study on Factors Influencing Adolescents' Sustainable Reading Attitude: Focusing on Middle School Students (청소년의 지속적 독서태도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 중학교 학생을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to identify factors to the sustainable reading attitude for making suggestion of the measures in reading education to strengthen the sustainable reading attitude. First of all, a set of in-depth interviews as a pilot was conducted with middle school students to search the factors, then a questionnaire was developed based on the pilot and existing research reports to survey middle school students in Seoul metropolitan area. The results from the analysis of the survey data showed that environmental factors in the schools, individual characteristics, such as grade and gender, interests, and perceptions of reading education significantly influenced the sustainable reading attitude, statistically. This study has implications to suggest the practical direction of desirable reading education to strengthen the sustainable reading attitude.

Perceptions and Attitudes of Americans in Korea toward Edible Insect-based Pet Food (식용곤충 함유 반려동물 식품에 대한 국내거주 미국인 소비자 인식 및 태도 연구)

  • We examined American consumers' perceptions and attitudes toward edible insect-based pet food. In this study, 16 Americans in Korea who owned dogs were categorized into two groups, and focus-group discussions were conducted under three conditions. First, we observed the free association perception of edible insect-based pet food, and attitudes were analyzed after providing a newspaper article related to it. Finally, consumer attitude was examined in the context of purchasing. The study found that the participants had high awareness of the eco-friendliness of edible insects and showed a positive attitude toward news articles related to it. However, when it came to purchasing, they considered nutritional and health functional values compared to environmental values. Meanwhile, the rejection of insects was nevertheless the most important negative factor in pet food, as in general food. The results are significant in confirming the possibility of using insect-based pet food by examining the perceptions and attitudes toward the environmental, nutritional, and health functional values of edible insects under three conditions for American consumers.

  • 기상학적 측면에서 강수 부족으로 인한 수생태환경(하천), 호소환경(저수지) 및 유역환경(중권역)으로 미치는 환경학적 가뭄의 영향을 평가하기 위한 시도는 매우 중요하다. 만약 동일한 규모의 강수부족 현상이 발생할지라도, 환경적 측면에서의 수질 및 수생태에 미치는 영향이 매우 큰 유역이 있고, 반면 어느 정도의 복원력을 유지할 수 있는 유역이 있을 것이다. 즉, 서로 다른 유역환경에 따라 가뭄으로 인한 환경적 영향은 달라질 가능성이 크며, 이처럼 환경적 가뭄에 취약한 지역을 위해서는 지속적인 환경가뭄 모니터링이 중요하다. 환경적 측면에서 가뭄의 영향을 평가하기 위해서는 다양한 수질 관련 항목을 연계한 환경가뭄 감시가 중요하며, 이와 더불어 가뭄과 관련한 다양한 이해관계자 간의 효율적인 의사결정 도구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다양한 시나리오 정보를 제공할 수 있는 베이지안 네트워크 모형을 적용하여 환경가뭄 민감도 평가 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 모형에서는 수질 문제가 가장 심하게 대두되고 있는 낙동강 유역을 대상으로, 기상학적 가뭄에 의한 수생태 및 환경 관련 변수들(BOD, T-P, TOC)의 복잡한 상호의존성을 파악할 수 있는 베이지안 네트워크 모형을 활용하였다. 또한, 기상학적 가뭄에 의한 상류와 하류 간의 환경적 영향을 연계하여 해석하기 위한 모형을 구축하였다. 그 결과, 기상학적 가뭄으로 인한 환경적 민감도가 크게 나타나는 중권역(예: 임하댐유역)과 이와 반대인 중권역(예: 병성천유역)의 구분이 가능하였다. 또한, 상류에서 발생한 심한 기상학적 가뭄이 하류 지역 내 환경적인 영향을 지속할 가능성이 있음을 확인되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제안한 방법은 환경적 가뭄의 취약지역을 우선 선정하고, 나아가 상-하류 간의 환경적 가뭄을 감시하는 데 있어 활용도가 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The Effects of Discussion Activities Based on Education for Sustainable Development to Children's Sensibility of Natural Environment and Environment-friendly Attitude (지속가능발전 내용이 포함된 그림책을 활용한 토의활동이 유아의 자연환경 감수성과 환경친화적 태도에 미치는 효과)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to suggest the effects of discussion activities based on education for sustainable development to children's natural environment and environment-friendly attitude. Methods: The subjects of the study were 39 children in H kindergarten located in G city, and the discussion activities for young children connected with sustainable development were conducted through 12 weeks. For the statistical analysis of the data collected, the t-test and the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) were conducted using the SPSS WIN 18.0 program. Results: As a result, the experimental group children of which the discussion activities based on education for sustainable development for young children scored high in the sensibility of natural environment. And also, the experimental group children of which discussion activities based on education for sustainable development scored high in children's natural environment-friendly attitude. Conclusion/Implications: This suggests that the discussion activities based on education for sustainable development are needed to improve children's natural environment and environment-friendly attitude.

The Effects of Intelligence and Scientific Attitude on Understanding in Surrounding Plants (지능과 과학 태도가 주변 식물의 이해에 미치는 영향)

  • Understanding the surrounding plants (SP) by the high school students was compared with their abilities of intelligence (SI) and attitude (SA) in science education. 276 students attending 11 grade high school in the city of Incheon selected for this work were tested for SP and their abilities of SI and SA. The rates of SP were observed to be not related to the personal properties of student but to the abilities of total or science achievement scores made throughout school life. The abilities of SP were, by linear regression, calculated to be dependent upon the some components or variables of SI or of SA. Particularly, the abilities of SP were closely related to the abilities of picture matrix and vocabulary, but not to those of scientific logics among variables of SI. Also, the abilities of SP were calculated to be positively related those of scientific attitude, but negatively to science anxiety in SA. As based on this work, the SP was strongly suggested to be helpful for students 'intelligences or for students' learning in their life.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic visitor information for developing effective park management strategies. To accomplish the purpose of this study, a questionnaire survey was carried out in major entry points in Woulaksan National Park. As for the results, socioeconomic characteristics of the visitors parks were similar to the findings of previous studies of national park visitors. Visitors' overall attitudes to national park use were preservation-oriented and significance levels of 18 management- related attributes were perceived as from normal to not serious. Visitors' recreation satisfaction levels with the area was relatively high.

  • 20세기 후반을 거치며 환경 관련 이슈는 조경 이론과 설계에서도 중심 주제로 자리잡아 왔다. 환경에 대한 고려를 중심에 둔 이른바 생태적 조경계획 설계는 조경의 패러다임에 일대 전환을 가져오고 조경의 대사회적 역할을 교정했다는 평가를 받고 있다. 그러나 이러한 흐름은 동시대 조경 이론과 설계의 가장 첨예한 쟁점 중의 하나인 생태학과 예술 사이의 이분법을 심화시켰다는 비판에 직면하고 있는 것 또한 사실이다. 즉 생태적 조경은 환경적 가치 대형태 구축, 부지의 생태적 분석 대 창조적 표현이라는 이원론적 갈등 관계를 형성해 온 것이다. 이 논문은 이러한 양상의 생태-예술 이원론을 해체하고 대안적 조경의 지평을 구축하는 일이 현대 조경설계가 풀어야 할 최우선의 과제라고 파악한다. 이 논문은 특히 최근의 조경설계에서 실험되고 있는 경험의 구축, 변화와 프로세스의 고려, 일시성과 불확정성을 존중하는 태도 등을 통해 생태-예술 이원론을 해체할 수 있는 실천적 전략을 모색한다. 뿐만 아니라 그러한 전략에서 드러나는 대안적 조경미학이 최근의 환경미학과 공유하고 있는 이론적 지형을 검토함으로써 생태학과 예술의 접점을 가로지르는 조경설계의 새로운 좌표를 탐색한다.

Influential Variables on the Husbands' Authoritarian Communication (남아의 권위주의적 의사소통 관련변인)

  • 본 연구는 평등한 부부관계로의 변화를 요구하는 현대사회에서 부인과의 대등하고 민주적인 의사소통을 저해하고, 부인의 정신.신체증상 호소라든가 가족문제를 야기시키는 한국남편의 전형적인 권위주위적 의사소통에 대한 관련변인을 밝혀내어 부부간의 민주적인 관계형성을 도모하고자 하는데 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 수행되었다. 서울시에 거주하는 328쌍의 부부를 대상으로 남편의 권위주의적 의사소통에 대한 관련변인을 살펴본 결과 개인적 변인으로 자아존중감 성역할태도, 부부간의 변인으로 부부간의 의사결정권, 부부간의 학력차, 부부간의 연령차, 가족환경적 변인으로 남편의 성장가족에서 친부의 권위주위적 행동, 주관적인 사회계층이 통계적으로 유의미하였으며, 개인적 변인, 부부간의 변인, 가족환경적 변인은 남편의 권위주의적 의사소통의 전체분산 중 14.5%, 11.3%, 11.5%를 각각 설명해 주고 있다. 개인, 부부간, 가족환경 변인을 모두 고려하였을 때는 자아존중감, 부부간의 의사결정권 친부의 권위주의적 행동, 성역할 태도, 부부간의 학력차가 통계적으로 유의미하였으며, 이들 변인은 남편의 권위주의적 의사소통의 전체분산 중 25.2%를 설명해 주고 있다.
