  • In the event of a fire, fire engines usually arrive within 15 minutes and become a fire suppressor. In this paper, an analytical model was established to evaluate the salt damage resistance of concrete according to fire suppression time, and the concentration of salt inside the concrete after fire was measured and the time to reach the critical concentration was assessed by how short.

  • Due to frequent fire incidents in underground culverts, many live are lost and the function of city is paralyzed, and consequently they bring tremendous damages to fortunes and live of people. It brings my attention that there are many problems presented when the current standard of smoke prevention facility is applied to prevent fire. Among many methods to prevent smoke in underground culverts this study concentrates on water-mist method witch is not currently applied in Korea and introduces installation method.

  • 건물의 고도화, 복합화 되고 있는 현시대에 화재시의 인명안전을 위하여 피난 및 소화기술의 발전은 더욱 강조되어 재해대책의 기술의 발전이 필요하다. 또한 소방법의 개정으로 인하여 스프링클러를 비롯한 소방설비의 수요가 늘어날 것으로 전망되어진다. 그러나 기존의 소방설비는 많은 공간을 차지하게 되어 층간높이에 영향을 크게 미치는 단점을 가지고 있었다. 본 논문에서는 화재진압설비를 기존의 공조시스템과의 결합을 통해 설치비용의 감소와 함께 공간 절감을 꾀하기 위한 적절한 공조설비의 선택을 위한 연구를 진행하고자 한다.

  • 1960년대까지는 저팽창단백포가 유류화재의 진압에 주로 사용되었으니 불소화합물 계면활성제로부터 유출된 합성 AFFF를 개발하면서 해수로도 이의 사용이 가능하고 지역 및 유출화재 예방에서 AFFF 특유의 초기진압효과 및 대형화재를 방지한다는 장점 때문에 널리 사용되고 있으며, 석유화학산업의 저장탱크지역 및 공정지역에서 AFFF와 FPF가 주로 사용되며 부두시설(Oilrig, Marine Tanker, 해상 / 해변터미널)에는 AFFF의 사용이 지배적이다. 현재 사용되고 있는 foam으로는 단백포(Protein: PF), 불화단백포(Fluoroprotein: FPF), 막형성 불화단백포(Film Forming Fluoroprotein Foam: FFFP), 고팽창폼(High Expansion Foam), 수성막 형성폼(Aqueous Film Foaming Foam: AFFF), 알콜폼(Alcohol Resistant Foam: ATD) 등이 있으니 본고에서는 AFFF 중심으로 소개한다.

  • Utility-Pipe Conduit is, Housing and city effectively accommodate what they absolutely need power, communications, gas, pipeline, water supply, drainage, energy facilities etc, according to expansion of urban infrastructure are derived, several ways to solve problems in, collection facilities in place are maintained and managed facility. If Utility-Pipe Conduit is damaged, as well as national security, because their impact on society as a whole, by introducing large vulnerability in the fire prevention activities and suppression measures and disaster for our situation by introducing measures, comprehensive analysis of the fire risk, it shall establish fire prevention activities and suppression through analysis of Utility-Pipe Conduit design, institutional issues, the problem of fire protection facilities, fire spread phenomenon etc. Because of Utility-Pipe Conduit is an enclosed place, so incomplete combustion due to lack of oxygen supply that there are problem such dark smoke, carbon monoxide etc, toxic combustion products and heat generation and visual impairment is an issue difficult to enter. Fire Suppression Test using the Automatic Monitor System for Double-Deck Tunnel (복층터널 자동 모니터 소화설비를 이용한 화재진압 실험)

  • As one of the solutions to deal with economic loss caused by traffic congestion in metropolitan area, a deep underground road has been planned and implemented at home and abroad. The part of them has been pushed ahead with a double-deck scheme which has an advantage in constructability and cost efficiency comparing to traditional road tunnel. However, the double-deck tunnel has a lower floor height than the general road tunnel due to the special structure used as the upper and lower lines by installing the middle slab on one excavation section. Therefore, it is relatively weak against fire accidents and ventilation problems occurring in tunnels. Thus study to develop the life safety system optimized to a double-deck tunnel has been systematically carried out in order to overcome their weak point. In this study, automatic monitoring fire extinguisher (AMFE) is developed to suppress a fire and prevent its spread at early stage of tunnel fire, conducting the performance test through vehicle fire tests as verification. The tests were conducted with AMFE being 30 m apart from the vehicle and 10 m apart from engine room. As a results, it was confirmed that AMFE enables to suppress a fire and prevent its spread in both cases.

  • In a bid to avoid the economic loss resulting from traffic jam in urban area, a deep underground road at 40 m depth has been considered and the first class disaster prevention facilities shall be applied according to domestic guideline. Automatic-monitoring fire extinguishing system designed to use for fire fighting has been widely applied at home and abroad. Recently development and commercialization through theoretical and experimental research to apply to road/railroad sector have been underway. Based on such performance of automatic fire extinguishing system, technical/economic analysis of existing water spray systems was conducted and as a result, it has demonstrated the superiority in terms of fire suppression as well as in cost efficiency. Then to commercialize this system, more diverse studies that will incorporate the characteristics of domestic tunnels are needed and should the system be promoted through institutional improvement, it's expected to become one of the advanced nations with own original technology in a life safety system industry throughout the world.

  • The importance of the firefighting education & Training is being magnified in order to enhance and strengthen a firefighters' ability and to reduce the firefighters' fatality and casualty. Therefore, It is needed to expand the facilities. In this study, with a comparative analysis of the global firefighting education & training facilities for fire suppression, we try to present the necessity and the basic contents of the establishing the installation criteria for the domestic firefighting education & training facilities. It has to contain specific purpose of the training and minimum standards for the structures with a guarantee of an international level. Naturally, the top priority is a safety of trainees and trainers. And, it should pay attention to a higher effectivity of the training course with a active reflection of the standard operation procedures' scenarios. Simultaneously, by securing a similarity and a compatibility to the other standards, it must maintain the balance of a whole standard.

  • This study analyzes the issue of the supply of force of fire in the high-rise buildings, and proposes an efficient method to do so. The results are as follows. First, in terms of Detect fire, it is necessary to shorten force of fire supply time by diversifying fire alarms such as alarms, vibrations, and voices from outside, clarification of fire occurrence points, and marking of fire. Second, with regard to communication signals, strengthening the installation target of wireless communication auxiliary facilities, supplementing the installation of repeaters, and constructing a multicommunications network were proposed. Third, in terms of Decide action, it is necessary to supply firefighter and firefighting equipment with the method of crossing of a river in adjacent buildings. Fourth, in terms of Respond to site, helicopters and emergency elevators are used to assist in the supply of firefighting equipment using drones. Easy-to-break glass windows and identification marks are required in every floor. Finally, in terms of applying fire suppressants, water can be supplied by means of a helicopter adjacent to the structure.

  • In this study I investigated that fire fighters utilize fire facilities properly or not, and found problems and solutions with interview and questionnaire. Fire fighters tend to utilize portable instruments. 62% of fire fighters have used fire facilities which is installed in building. The most useful facility is indoor fire hydrant, 42% of fire fighters have used that. The primary reason to avoid to use facility is that they think the facilities are not good at quick response. Almost fire fighters want improvement to enhance utilizing fire facilities. Finally in the fire scene, commander's initiative, fire fighter's ability, easiness of utilizing fire facilities, and fire fighter's creditibility about fire facilities are related to the degree of utilizing fire facilities.
