  • Intelligent robot is defined as a system that it judges autonomously based on sensory organ of sight, hearing etc.. analogously with human. Human communicates using nonverbal means such as gesture in addition to language. If robot understands such nonverbal communication means, robot may become familiar with human . HCI (Human Computer Interaction) technologies are studied vigorously including face recognition and gesture recognition, but they are many problems that must be solved in real conditions. In this paper, we introduce the importance of contents and give application example of technology stressed on the recent research result about gesture recognition technology as one of most natural communication method with human.

A Study on the Characteristics of High Energy Nitrogen ion Implanted CdS Thin Films (고에너지 질소 이온 주입된 CdS 박막 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The effects of nitrogen ion implantation on vacuum evaporated cadmium sulphide (CdS) thin films were investigated by X-ray diffraction, optical transmittance spectra, and Raman scattering studies. The as-deposited CdS films have a hexagonal structure with preferential (0 0 2) orientation. Formation of Cd metallic clusters was observed in ion implanted films from the XRD patterns. The band gap of N+ implanted films decreased, whereas the optical absorption coefficient values increased with the increase of implantation dose. The Raman peak position appeared at 299 cm-1 and the FWHM increased with the ion dose. A decrease in the area of Raman peak of CdS Al(LO) mode is seen on implantation.

  • Uigwe is official reports of the Joseon dynasty. They published from early Joseon but remain from 17C. We can search many hidden informations in them. Ga-Jungjagak (temporary T-shaped house) is one of them. It is unique architecture of the Joseon dynasty but it doesn't exist now at all. We can see many drawings describing Ga-Jungjagak (temporary T-shaped house) located next to Jungjagak in Uigwe. Jungjagak (T-shaped house) was built in royal tombs for sacrifice. Ga-Jungjagak was built in royal tombs for sacrifice as Jungjagak but existed temporarily. In this study, I want to find the process of norms Ga-Jungjagak in old records, official reports and annals of the Joseon Dynasty. Results are as follows: Ga-Jungjagak is the sacrifice space for queens in royal tombs. It is need to avoid sacrifice of delight and sorrow at the same time. They sacrifice to represent sorrow after the death of kings and queens for three years. After three year, they sacrifice to represent delight for kings and queens became ancestral gods. Ga-Jungjagak was destroyed three years later to combined sacrifices. The shape of Ga-Jungjagak is similar to Jungjagak in the same tomb. But dimensions of Ga-Jungjagak are equal or smaller than Jungjagak and decorations are abstemious.

  • Vincenzo Scamozzi as the successor of Palladio stands as a major accomplishment of the task of cleanup to the classicism in 16th century. In addition, unlike the trend seen over Palladian, he shows succession and change of Renaissance villa. "L'Idea dell' Archittectura Universale; The Idea of a Universal Architecture"(1615) is a book of Scamozz's representative. This book is represented his idea for a residential building. His concepts for a residential building were analyzed through the analysis of his book and work. Scamozzi thought that domestic architecture should be designed according to he owner's social status and reputation. These concepts as decorum and this is divided into three categories. This is a threefold order, the first category and highest encompassing reigning princess and their families, who were more or less regarded as God's representatives on earth. The second category comprised noblemen and high office holders whose houses were to be, in all respects, a degree less grand, costly and dignified than the prince's residence. The third category was made up of prominent citizens and wealthy merchants whose houses were to have only moderate commoner did not come into this classification at all. - the magnifiche, honorevoli, and commune style of speech.

  • After Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 was over and the situation was coped with, Chang-Kyoung Palace and Chang-Duk Palace were rebult, and In-Kyung Palace and Kyung-Duk Palace were built during the reign of Kwang Hae Kun. Many utilitarians were engaged with the construction as a manager, and they devoted themselves to improve technology. As a result, craftsmen were treated so valuable, compared to the past, that they were consulted about the technical problems under construction, the process of making an estimate, and the management of construction materials. Moreover, famous craftsmen obtained the government service. And there were various attempts on organizing and compensating workmen in order to manage them efficiently. In addition, the know-how of manufacturing a blue tile, which had been failed to succeed due to the war, was revived, and manufacturing a yellow tile, which had not been used, was studied by utilitarians. Finally, There were many kind of technical attempts and development under the construction of palaces, which gave utilitarians a chance to express their ideas, expected practical science, and assembled craftsmen who had scattered due to the war, during the reign of Kwang Hae Kun

A Study on Taoist Literatures Including in Annotated Classified Bibliographies in Joseon Dynasty (조선시대 해제목록에 나타난 도가서적(道家書籍) 연구)

  • This study analyzed the annotations of Taoist literatures in "Haedong-munheon-chongnok", "Gyujang-chongmok", "Nupango" and "Hongssi-dokseorok", which were annotated classified bibliographies compiled in Joseon Dynasty. Based on the analyses, the study explored the perspectives from which the annotations were written since Taoism was considered to be heretical from a Confucian point of view. With respect to writing the annotations of Taoist literatures, it was general that the annotations were written objectively about Taoism, rather than relying on a Confucian perspective. Yet, Hong Seok Ju, who wrote "Hongssi-dokseorok" clearly expressed his opinions about the pros and cons of Taoism. Overall, it would be well appreciated that the annotated bibliographies in Joseon Dynasty retained objectivity in Taoist literatures regarded as heresy at that time.

  • The works of Vicenzo Scamozzi, the successor of Andrea Palladio are able to be comparable with Palladio's works in various ways. When comparing Villa Pisani of Scamozzi with Villa Rotonda of Palladio, their difference is evident. Both Villa Pisani and Rotonda are vacation villas located on low hills and have the magnificent beauty that overpowers their surrounding rural sceneries. However, Scamozzi doesn't show an obsession about Palladio's proportion. Palladio expressed the symbolic meaning of the villa as the center of surrounding rural scenery by having same porticos for all four facades of a square. On the contrary, Scamozzi built a portico only for one facade and constructed open loggias with serliana motif for other three facades. These loggias help lighting and ventilation of rooms located behind of loggias. Geometric innocence that is pursued by Palladio's villa can be understood as the archeological classism based on the nature interpretation from a classical viewpoint. On the contrary, Scamozzi pursued his own architectural characters that apply buildings to fit to their environment.

Studies on Telomerization (I) Telomerization of Vinyl Acetate with Chlorinated Hydrocarbons (Telomerization 에 關한 硏究 (I) Vinyl Acetate 와 Chlorinated Hydrocarbons 과의 Telomerization 에 關하여)

  • The telomerization of vinyl acetate with carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and monochlorobenzene were investigated with respect to the synthesis of those telomers, properties and molecular weights of the formed telomers, and reaction mechanisms. Vinyl acetate reacted with carbon tetrachloride and chloroform to form telomers at 70-90$^{\circ}C$ and 60-70$^{\circ}C$, respectively and it formed polymer with monochlorobenzene. As a chain transfer agent, carbon tetrachloride was more effective than chloroform. In the telomerization of vinyl acetate and carbon tetrachloride: 1) The average molecular weight of the telomer decreased as the mole ratio of carbon tetrachloride to vinyl acetate increased. The optimum conditions for the highest yield of the telomer were as follows: Mole ratio of carbon tetrachloride to vinyl acetate : 2.5 Reaction time : 20 hours. 2) As the reaction proceeded, the refractive index and average molecular weight of the telomer increased rapidly in the first 10 hours but the increase was slow through the next 10 hours, so that, the average recurring number(n) of taxogen in the final product reached an almost definite value, i.e., 3. The telomer formed in the telomerization of vinyl acetate with carbon tetrachloride and chloroform turned to brown color in the air due to decomposition or polymerization. The suggested telomerization mechanism was supported by the hexachloroethane detected in the course of reaction.

¹H NMR Study of the Effect of G-T Mismatches on Dynamics and Stability of d(GCGTGCGC)₂ and Its Berenil Complex

  • The effects of G-T mismatches on thermal stability, the base-pair lifetime and the global structure of a d(GCGTGCGC)2 duplex were studied by using 1H NMR, UV and CD spectroscopy. The existence of G-T mismatches was found to cause a noticeable change in the chemical environment of imino protons associated with significant decrease in the base-pair lifetime at the mismatched site as well as in thermal stability of the duplex itself. The melting transition of d(GCGTGCGC)2 was not cooperative at all at 100 mM or lower concentration of NaCl, but became cooperative at 500 mM or higher NaCl concentration. The melting temperature (Tm) of this duplex was 32℃ at 500 mM concentration of NaCl, which is much lower than that of d(GCGCGCGC)2 at the same NaCl concentration. This suggests that the decrease in stability may be ascribed to the decrease in the base-pair lifetime and the deviation from the normal structure due to the G-T mismatches. Adding berenil to d(GCGTGCGC)2 caused no observable change in the global structure but the large decrease in the base-pair lifetime and the stability of the duplex.

The Study on Performance Characteristics in Refrigeration System using R717 and R22 as working fluid (냉매 R717과 R22를 작동유체로 이용한 냉동장치의 성능특성에 관한 연구)

  • Nowadays HCFCs refrigerant are restricted because it cause depletion of ozone layer. However, natural gases such as ammonia as an organic compound, propane and propylene as hydrocarbon are easy and cheap to obtain as well as environmental. Accordingly, this experiment apply the $NH_3$ and R22 to study the performance characteristic from the superheat control and compare the energy efficiency of two refrigerants from the high performance. The condensing pressure of refrigeration system is increased from 15bar to 16bar and degree of superheat is increased from 0 to $10^{\circ}C$ at each condensing pressure. As the result of experiment, when comparing the each COP, we knew the $NH_3$ is suitable as the alternative refrigerant of the R22.
