Design and Fabrication of CMOS Micro Humidity Sensor System (CMOS 마이크로 습도센서 시스템의 설계 및 제작)

  • Integrated humidity sensor system with two stages operational amplifier has been designed and fabricated by $0.8{\mu}m$ analog mixed CMOS technology. The system (28 pin and $2mm{\times}4mm$) consisted of Wheatstone-bridge type humidity sensor, resistive type humidity sensor, temperature sensors and operational amplifier for signal amplification and process in one chip. The poly-nitride etch stop process has been tried to form the sensing area as well as trench in a standard CMOS process. This modified technique did not affect the CMOS devices in their essential characteristics and gave an allowance to fabricate the system on same chip by standard process. The operational amplifier showed the stable operation so that unity gain bandwidth was more than 5.46 MHz and slew rate was more than 10 V/uS, respectively. The drain current of n-channel humidity sensitive field effect transistor (HUSFET) increased from 0.54 mA to 0.68 mA as the relative humidity increased from 10 to 70 %RH.

  • 하천의 합류부는 두 개 이상의 하천이 하나로 합쳐지는 구간으로 서로 다른 특성으로 인해 급격한 흐름의 변화와 수리학적 지형변화가 발생하는 구간이다. 하천의 합류부에서는 유체의 물리화학적인 특성과 흐름 구조의 변화가 발생할 수 있다. 흐름 구조의 변화로 인한 유사 이송으로 세굴과 같은 지형적인 변화가 발생할 수 있다. 합류부의 혼합을 이해하기 위해서는 본류와 지류의 다양한 유입조건에 따른 공간적인 패턴을 분석하는 것이 중요하다. 그러나, 대부분의 합류부 연구들은 실측에 기반한 공간적인 패턴 분석의 어려움으로 인해 실내실험 또는 수치모형에 의존하여 연구가 수행되어, 실측자료에 기반한 공간적인 수체혼합의 분석은 매우 제한적이었다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 하천 합류부의 혼합 현상을 규명하는 인자로 흐름 방향 유속, 2차류와 수심 등 기본적인 수리학적 인자들 외에 연직, 수평 방향으로 측정한 수질 자료와 드론 영상을 활용하여 합류부의 혼합 특성을 해석하고자 하였다. 수질 자료 중 하천의 혼합을 가장 잘 확인할 수 있는 인자로써 전기전도도와 온도를 활용하였다. SonTek ADCP를 이동식으로 횡단하여 측정해 흐름 방향 유속과 2차류, 수심을 확인하였다. ADCP를 운용함과 동시에 YSI의 수질센서를 활용하여 연직, 수평 방향으로의 전기전도도와 온도의 분포를 확인하였다. 또한, 합류부의 2차원 공간적인 분포를 확인하기 위해 드론 영상을 촬영하였다. ADCP, YSI, 드론의 계측자료는 한국의 낙동강과 남강 합류부에서 측정되었고, 분석 결과 계측장비 간의 경향성이 일치하였다. 또한, 이전에 진행된 해외의 합류부 연구 결과와 유사한 결과가 관측되었으나, 일부 부분에서는 다른 결과를 보였다.

  • Wireless Sensor Network is an event-driven system that a large number of micro sensor nodes are collected, giving and Wing information. Congestion can take place easily since a great number of sensor nodes are sensing data and transferring them to sink nodes when an event occurs, comparing to the existing wired network. Current internet transport protocol is TCP/UDP, however, this is not proper for wireless sensor network event-driven ESRT, STCP and CODA are being studied for reliable data transport in the wireless sensor network. Congestion are being detected local buffer and channel loading with these techniques. Broadcasting is mainly used and can avoid congestion when one happens. The way that combining local buffer and channel loading information and detecting congestion is being studied in this paper. When congestion occurs, buffering state is divided into three in order to lessen the broadcasting sending the message on congestion control to the node having frequent channel loading. Thus they have advantage of decreasing network's loading.

Study on Piezoelectric Characteristics of Piezoelectric Paint Sensor According to Poling Time (분극 시간에 따른 압전 페인트 센서의 압전 특성 연구)

  • In this study, the piezoelectric characteristics of a piezoelectric paint sensor were investigated in relation to the poling time. This piezoelectric paint sensor was composed of PNN-PZT powder and epoxy resin with a 1:1 weight ratio. The dimensions of the paint specimen were $40{\times}10{\times}1mm^3$, and the top and bottom sides were both coated with a silver paste to create electrodes. During the poling treatment, the poling time was controlled to examine the effect of the piezoelectric properties, while the poling temperature was fixed at room temperature and the electric field was set to 4 kV/mm. The piezoelectric properties were measured by comparing the output voltage from the paint sensor to the force signal from an impact hammer when the impact hammer hit the specimen. In conclusion, the optimal poling conditions were found to be an electric field of 4 kV/mm and a poling time of around 30 min at room temperature.

  • Recently, the solar tracker has been used to improve the efficiency of solar energy. Solar tracking technologies are classified into the sensor-based method, the program-based method, and the hybrid method. Solar trackers using an AC motor and CdS sensor are low in cost, but the precision of the positions is low, owing to the inertia of the motor and the scattering of sunlight. To compensate for the low precision, we implement a CdS sensor module and propose an AC motor control method using error value. To evaluate the performance of the solar tracker, we implemented a solar water heater. From the experimental results, the solar tracker can achieve ${\pm}2mm$ accuracy for sun, can satisfy ${\pm}15mm$ as a limited error value, and provides a 32% performance enhancement in KSB8202 criteria.

An Energy Efficient Hybrid Routing Protocol Based on LEACH and PEGASIS (LEACH와 PEGASIS 기법에 기반한 에너지 효율적 하이브리드 라우팅 규약)

  • Since all sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks work by their own embedded batteries, if a node runs out of its battery, the sensor network can not operate normally. In this situation we should employ the routing protocols which can consume the energy of nodes efficiently. Many protocols for energy efficient routing in sensor networks have been suggested but LEACH and PEGASIS are most well known protocols. However LEACH consumes energy heavily in the head nodes and the head nodes tend to die early and PEGASIS - which is known as a better energy efficient protocol - has a long transfer time from a source node to sink node and the nodes close to the sink node expend energy sharply since it makes a long hop of data forwarding. We proposed a new hybrid protocol of LEACH and PEGASIS, which uses the clustering mechanism of LEACH and the chaining mechanism of PEGASIS and it makes the life time of sensor networks longer than other protocols and we improved the performance 33% and 18% higher than LEACH-C and PEGASIS respectively.

Stretchable Strain Sensors Using 3D Printed Polymer Structures Coated with Graphene/Carbon Nanofiber Hybrids (그래핀/탄소나노섬유 코팅된 3D 프린팅 고분자 구조를 이용한 신축성 스트레인 센서)

  • Stretchable strain sensors have been developed for potential future applications including wearable devices and health monitoring. For practical implementation of stretchable strain sensors, their stability and repeatability are one of the important aspects to be considered. In this work, we utilized 3D printed polymer structures having kirigami patterns to improve the stretchability and reduce the hysteresis. The polymer structures were coated with graphene/carbon nanofiber hybrids to make a robust electrical network. The stretchable strain sensors showed a high gauge of 36 at a strain of 32%. Because of the kirigami structures and the robust graphene/carbon nanofiber coating, the sensors also exhibited stable resistance responses at various strains ranging from 1% to 30%.

A Research of LEACH Protocol improved Mobility and Connectivity on WSN using Feature of AOMDV and Vibration Sensor (AOMDV의 특성과 진동 센서를 적용한 이동성과 연결성이 개선된 WSN용 LEACH 프로토콜 연구)

  • As the growth of ubiquitous services, various types of ad hoc networks have emerged. In particular, wireless sensor networks (WSN) and mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are widely known ad hoc networks, but there are also other kinds of wireless ad hoc networks in which the characteristics of the aforementioned two network types are mixed together. This paper proposes a variant of the Low Energy Adaptive Cluster Hierarchy (LEACH) routing protocol modified to be suitable in such a combined network environment. That is, the proposed routing protocol provides node detection and route discovery/maintenance in a network with a large number of mobile sensor nodes, while preserving node mobility, network connectivity, and energy efficiency. The proposed routing protocol is implemented with a multi-hop multi-path algorithm, a topology reconfiguration technique using node movement estimation and vibration sensors, and an efficient path selection and data transmission technique for a great many moving nodes. In the experiments, the performance of the proposed protocol is demonstrated by comparing it to the conventional LEACH protocol.

  • 칼라 영상은 단색조의 영상에 비해 인간의 시각을 크게 향상시킨다. 따라서 칼라 영상 처리에 관한 연구는 매우 중요하다. 칼라 영상은 센서 잡음이나 채널 전송 에러에 의해 생기는 잡음에 의해 자주 오염되어진다. 이러한 칼라 잡음을 제거하기 위해 여러 형태의 필터들이 개발되어 왔는데 혼합된 잡음에서 벡터 $\alpha$-trimmed 평균 필터는 우수한 성능을 보였다. 그러나, 벡터 $\alpha$-trimmed 평균 필터는 필터링 과정이 영상의 전 영역에 걸쳐 균일하게 적용되어지기 때문에 윤곽선 이동이 일어나 blurring 현상이 심하게 나타나는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 본 논문에서는 윤곽선 영역과 smooth 영역을 구분한 뒤 각 영역에 적합한 선택적인 필터링을 하는 조건적인 퍼지 클러스터 필터를 제안하였고 제안된 조건적인 퍼지 클러스터 필터는 기존의 벡터 $\alpha$-trimmed 평균 필터에 비해 혼합된 잡음에서 우수한 성능을 보였다.

  • 본 논문은 친환경 운전(Eco Driving)에 대한 사회적, 기술적 관심이 고조되고 있는 현 상황에서 차량에서 제공하는 차량 정보 가운데 MAF 센서 값을 이용하여 차량의 주행 연비를 추정하고자 하였다. MAF는 화학반응에서 연료 1g당 혼합되는 공기의 양을 의미하며, g/s의 단위를 사용한다. 휘발유 차량의 경우 엔진 ECU에서 폐회로 제어를 통해 혼합비를 14.7:1로 일정하게 유지하는 동작을 수행하므로 우리는 MAF 값을 통해 차량의 주행 연비 추정이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 국내에서 생산중인 차종들에 대해 MAF 값을 이용한 실제 주행 테스트 수행하였으며, 이에 대한 연비 결과를 종합적으로 비교 분석하였다.
