  • More children today are overweight or obese than ever before. childhood obesity results from an imbalance between the amount of energy consumed and the amount of energy expended. Whether child want to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, it's important to balance between the calories body takes in and uses. Obesity treatment programs for children and adolescents is to slow or halt weight gain so the child will grow into his or her body weight over a period of months to years. Fasting or extreme caloric restriction is not advisable for children. More physical activity is a key element in the prevention and treatment of obesity. Children can't change their exercise and eating habits by themselves. They need the help and support of their families and parents. Children and adolescents who are just beginning to be physically active should start out slowly and gradually build to higher levels in order to prevent the risk of injury or feel defeated from unrealistic goals. It is important that children and adolescents are encouraged to be physically active by doing things that interest them. FUN physical activities that kids choose to do on their own are often best. Kids need about 60 minutes of physical activity a day, but this does not have to happen all at once. Several short 10- or even 5-minute periods of activity throughout the day are just as good. FUN physical activities will help them establish an active lifestyle early on. Obese people need care not for a short period, but throughout their lives.

  • With an entering into force of OPRC-HNS started in June 14th 2007, establishment of response system in a nationwide scale to take care of accidents is required to respond rapidly and effectively. This necessities drove us to analyze national contingency plan for chemicals including national response system against accidents, which is in operation in the US. Main characteristics of the system are well described as an integrated incident command system with a cooperation of responsibilities facilities, manpower, and technical support. In addition, state anψor local authorities tend to have responsibilities on management of disaster with its response activities. Polluters are also charged to pay expenses 3 times expensive provided state or local authorities are conducted. In general, response activities are conducted by private sectors. However, the government will take action with Superfund if the response capacity is over than the polluters can. However, safety are regarded as a primary factor to be considered in the response activities, and try not to recover any pollutants. Personals belonging to USCG and EPA are required to complete specialized courses to promαe professional skills, and are also welcomed to participate in "certification program"

  • In recent years, hoping the interaction of individuals and rather than software development process and tools, and customers want software that works first, rather than a comprehensive document, in cooperation with the customer, rather than the developer negotiate a contract, to each other stick to the plan I think even more so than the value that corresponds to the change. In view of this, software development is given the autonomy and motivation to project team rather than process-oriented and have a passion and vision and human relations oriented management approach is required. In recent years, increasing the productivity benefits of agile development processes, improved quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction as is demonstrated in the methodology selected to promote the project, attention was given to the experts. Contemporary demands with regard to the methodology chosen to meet your needs, in this paper in the organization, and to solve the problems of product-based Cross functional team proposed methodology Feature Team model, this model is an organizational Cross functional team and the team is not the outcome (product) basis, were examined for the model that points to progress the development across multiple product as a functional unit, value-plan through the driven agile technique-based model and proposed a difference. And the domain analysis, required extraction by conventional JAD (joint application development) meeting the targets for the object-oriented modeling, in modeling and organize, review, aware in advance and the UML Structure and Behavior Diagrams and proposed to proceed with the project.

  • The route of Korea and China situates stable shipping market by the agreement on maritime transport between two countries. Epecially, the Car-ferry shipping market between Korea and China is growing up the world's largest markets in this situation. But, the rapid growth of markets have the possibility of imbalance between supply and demand. In addition that heavy competition can be arisen. The aim of this study is to analyze the ways to reinforce competitiveness of Car-ferry shipping companies(CFSCs) between Korea and China routes through suggesting importance weights of service factors. Firstly, evaluating service factors of CFSCs between Korea and China routes are selected by reviewing literatures and Delphi method. Secondly, importance weights of service factors are calculated using Fuzzy method. As a result, Shipper and CFSCs between Korea and China routes select 'agility of loading and unloading', 'agility of customs', and 'punctuality of transportation' as the most important factors. On the other hand, the two groups are shown the perception gaps on the factors such as 'reasonable shipping cost', 'voyage speed', 'multimodal transportation', and 'professionality of manpower'. The implication of this study is that Government of Korea and China Have to cooperate agreement for mutual drive towed trailer and customs to speedy transportation.

  • Wetland function assessment is not only a basic step to understand wetland ecosystems in detail but also an important process as a base of the term, ecosystem service to recognize wetland ecosystems as valuable and useful resources and goods for human being. WET (wetland evaluation technique), EMAP (environmental monitoring assessment program)-wetlands, and HGM (hydrogeomorphic method) were developed as pioneer wetland function assessments in U.S. at the end of $20^{th}$-century. RAMs (rapid assessment methods) became a major function assessment tool which is relatively simpler and easier assessment tool at the beginning of $21^{th}$-century. After that, the hierarchy of three levels of assessment (landscape assessment, rapid assessment, and intensive assesment) has been prepared and strategically utilized according to the objectives and purposes of function assessments. In South Korea, RAM and HGM were used to assess wetland functions with reforming a couple of items and contents at 2001. And, modified and reformed function assessments have been developed to complement and improve upon the existing RAMs and HGMs. Via the trend analysis on wetland function assessments, some needs which require supplements in terms of function assessment are pointed out: 1) wetland function assessments using useful indicators such as birds are needed with considering our environmental characteristics. 2) optimized wetland function assessments for coastal wetlands are also needed. 3) the network construction and further expansion to lead communications and co-operations between researchers and policy makers is needed in the field of wetland function assessment.

  • This phenomenological study aims to explore Nursing Students' Experiences who have experienced team-based learning (TBL). The purpose of this study is to contribute to fostering professional nurses required in the clinical field by improving the learning outcomes by applying the TBL classes. The study participants were seven students of the nursing department who took TBL classes in adult nursing classes. The data were collected through participating observations and in-depth interviews, and analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological methods. As a result of the study, nine conceptual descriptions and five theme clusters were derived. The major theme clusters for the experiences of students were 'Dedication to best results', 'Self-led learning attitudes are formed', 'Becoming a communal knowledge creator', 'Active class time', and 'Meaningless peer evaluation'. Nine conceptual descriptions were 'Doing one's best to fulfill one's role', 'Preparing for the class with the pre-learning', 'Forming confidence through pre-learning', 'Solving problems through interaction with friends', 'Becoming a mentor to each other', 'Working together to resolve issues', 'Intimacy formed', 'A lively class', and 'Peer evaluation with familiarity'. This study contributes to the improvement of the learning outcomes of the nursing students by enabling learner-centered classes and self-led learning, thereby contributing to fostering the professional nursing manpower required in the clinical field.

  • Ontology is an explicit specification of concepts and relationships between concepts in an interest domain. As considered as one of typical knowledge representation methods, ontology is applied to various studies such as information extraction, information integration, information sharing, or knowledge management. In IT based industries, ontology is applied to research on information integration and sharing in order to enhance interoperability between enterprises. In supply chains or logistics, several enterprises participate as business partners to plan movements of goods, and control goods and logistics flows. A number of researches on information integration and sharing for the effective and efficient management of logistics or supply chains have been addressed. In this paper, we address an ontology as a knowledge-base for semantic-based integration of logistics information distributed in the logistics flow. Especially, we focus on developing an ontology that enables to represent and translate semantic meaning of EPC data in the EPC Network applied logistics. We present a scenario for tracing products in logistics in order to show the value of our ontology.

  • This study explores the trajectories of institutionalization for technology transfer both in the U.S. and Korea, particularly focusing on two universities: Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and the University of California (UC). By comparing the diverging paths of the two universities in setting up institutions, this paper examines the limits of and lessons for technology transfer policies both to Korean government and universities in Korea. The University of California was involved in designing rules and codes, on one hand, to stimulate its members' engagements with technology transfer activity and, on the other hand, to keep its academic integrity since, no later than, the 1960s. The efforts and consequences range from its rules of patenting system to its codes of conducts. Through making rules formal and resolving conflicts on technology transfer activity, the U.S., and the University of California have decreased uncertainties for its members' engagements with industries. By contrast, KAIST has not built up such range of rules or codes due to its shorter experience and its constraining legal contexts. Korea introduced the legal format of the US Bayh-Dole Act in 2002, and its central government has led the initiatives for technology transfer, not allowing much latitude for its universities. This study implies a set of policy recommendations to the Korean government and KAIST: to build entrepreneurial universities, the government should give greater latitude to universities, so universities should be more rigorously engaged in developing their own rules and routines; the government, rather, should focus on providing bridging R&D funds like the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), so researchers could draw on resources to move their basic research into next phases; KAIST would be better to promote its members to engage with industries, and introduce conduct codes that allow its academics to engage in industrial activity, rather than building up its commercialization facilities.

  • As science and technology advanced, specialized and massive, development through mutual cooperation or research based on patent licensing such as material transfer contract, technology transfer contract etc are actively taking place to minimize or separate the cost and risk of R&D. In R&D, such mutual work can enjoy the merit of division of labor by effectively allocating resources and manpower to accomplish its goal. Inevitably, however, there are also many possibilities of disputes regarding the ownership and use of intellectual property rights resulting from such mutual/post-studies, or inventions upgraded by using prior patents. The case reviewed by this paper is noticeable regarding the recent trend of upgraded inventions. In the case, a pharmaceutical company conducted tests/assessments on the complete technology of patent owned by a university on the premise of transferring the technology, and then terminated the technology transfer contract due to reasons of toxicity. The university then filed a damage claim suit against the company for infringing the contract. This is a dispute case betw een a university which developed a potential ingredient for new medicine and a pharmaceutical company which agreed to transfer and receive the technological later on. Regarding the upgraded inventions of source patents, this case has many implications on the protection of prior patents, research contract, and research security to protect the accomplishment of research. This paper reviews the subject ruling and the protection of upgraded patents and source technologies. As critical notes, the paper also summarizes the major issues of case ruling to observe the standard of ruling patent infringement related to the extortion of upgraded patents. Then, through the ruling of the case above, the paper suggests implications and future strategies.
