  • The purpose of this study was to survey collaborate learning in early childhood settings in Korea. Specifically, the study examined whether the realities of and the teachers' perception on collaborative learning would differ in terms of the teachers' belief on constructivism. To achieve this purpose, 210 teachers of kindergartens and daycare centers in Busan completed a questionnaire developed by the authors. The teachers' belief on constructivism was rated as high, medium, and low. The ${\chi}^2$-test, one-way analysis of variance, and the Scheffe test were used to analyze the teachers' interest on and practice level of collaborate learning. As a result of this analysis, the authors observed several significant differences in the realities of and the teachers' perception on collaborative learning in terms of the teachers' belief on constructivism. We discussed the results and provided practical implications for teacher training.

  • The purpose of this study is to design and apply cooperative learning using module cards for SW education for beginner and to analyze their effects and perceptions. Cooperative learning using 30 module cards consists of 3 activities and we applied it to elementary school students to verify the effectiveness of the learning. For the research analysis, we analyzed the pre-post motivation of SW education, the degree of satisfaction, interest level, and step recognition of the cooperative learning. As a result of the analysis, the learning motivation showed significant improvement in all areas of attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. Students also found that the second stage of cooperative learning using module cards was the most interesting and the third was the most helpful.

The 16-session forest experience play activity program was planned for conducting research on the children's leadership ability and happiness fullness when using the Nuri curriculum, and this was carried out on the experimental group for 2 months. The pre- and post-analyses were carried out on the non-experimental group after outdoor activities on the topic of the Nuri curriculum-related activities. The results were as follows. First, cooperative art activities through the forest experience had a positive effect on the children's reinvention ability, human relations, goal achievement and direction power, which are all sub-factors of their leadership. Second, cooperative art activities through the forest experience had a positive effect on positive emotions, commitment, personal relations, meaning and achievement, which are sub-factors of their total happiness. Overall, their cooperative art activities during the forest experience were judged to be facilitating factors that have a positive effect on their leadership and happiness fullness.

  • The purpose of this study is to draw the implication for building domestic housing-related co-operatives by understanding activities of housing-related co-operatives from case study and by suggesting the start-up typology for possible domestic housing-related co-operatives and requisites for building them. According to their activities housing-related co-operatives are categorized into three types which are housing supply and operation type, maintain and improve the existing housing type, and design and performance improvement type. National housing policy should be connected to housing co-operatives indirectly. That is, the policy direction ought to be not toward controlling housing co-operatives, letting them supply more houses directly, but toward supporting voluntary co-operatives, showing them the overall housing policy blueprint. Co-operatives cannot be a panacea. Too much protection or support for co-operatives could lead to a reverse discrimination against private companies, and the co-operatives might overuse this kind of prominent position. We need to focus on the possibility of the role of co-operatives as a facilitator for local economy rather than a perfect substitute for the existing economy system.

  • This study explored effective teaching-learning activities under the hybrid teaching model combining flipped learning, direct instruction, cooperative learning and distance learning. Subjects were 99 college students enrolled in 2 teacher preparation courses. Students evaluated effectiveness of 22 teaching-learning activities according to Likert scale at the end of the semester. As a result, all 22 teaching learning activities were considered effective more or less. They facilitated motivation, comprehension, participation, thinking, and led to mastery of the task. ② Activities scored low were 'questioning and answering at the beginning of online class', 'open book test'. ③ Hybrid teaching model was favored over traditional instruction. Open ended responses were consistent with the ones in the questionnaire. This research supports the notion that key teaching models to be combined for successful flipped learning in college setting are direct instruction and cooperative learning. Furthermore, effective and ineffective teaching strategies for flipped learning were found.
