Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate relationship among self-directed learning, confidence of performance, clinical learning environment and Clinical Competency of nursing students. Methods: 178 nursing students participated. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and pearson's correlation coefficients with IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0. Results: Mean score of self-directed learning, confidence of performance, clinical learning environment and clinical competency was 3.36, 3.42, 3.20 and 3.66 points. There was significant positive correlation among self-directed learning, confidence of performance, clinical learning environment and clinical competency. Conclusion: Therefore, in order to improve the clinical competency of nursing students, it is necessary to systematize core nursing skills education and continuously improve the clinical learning environment through close industry-academia cooperation and relationship.

For effective clinical practice education, this study was conducted to find out the effects of learning practical subjects on the core competency and satisfaction level of clinical practice on nursing students. The research subjects were divided into groups that conducted four core nursing education classes eight hours a day for two weeks, and groups that received traditional lecture-oriented education, and a questionnaire was prepared and reported by themselves after 15 weeks of clinical practice. The collected data was analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation, chi-square test, and t-test using the SPSS 21.0 program. The findings supported the hypotheses in critical thinking propensity and clinical practice satisfaction, and the hypotheses in leadership, problem-solving and communication skills were rejected. The results of this study confirmed that practical training for strengthening core practical skills has a positive effect on the critical thinking tendency and clinical practice satisfaction of nursing students. Therefore, it can be used as an effective practical training arbitration in nursing education.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of mentoring senior core fundamental nursing skills education on clinical competence and critical thinking disposition in nursing students. The research design was a one group pre-posttest design and the participants were 57 nursing students. The contents consisted of 3 core fundamental nursing skills of vital sign, nelaton catheterization and subcutaneous injection and total duration of 6 hours. Mentoring seniors conducted to rapport forming & education and evaluated them after exercise and evaluation under the guidance of professor. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires in pre-test and post-test, the collected data were analyzed using paired t-tests. The result shows the scores of clinical competence and critical thinking disposition were increased significantly after mentoring senior core fundamental nursing skills education in nursing students. The results indicate that this study was effective in improving nursing students clinical competence and critical thinking disposition in core fundamental nursing skills and is expected to be utilized in nusing practice education. Additional studies including those on control groups are recommended to compare difference between the experimental group and control group.

This study is a similar experimental study before and after the inequality control group to investigate the effect of PETTLEP model-based image training on fundamental nursing practice education on the confidence and competence ability of core basic nursing skills, and participation in autonomous practice. Data were collected by randomly assigning 74 students who understood the purpose of the study and voluntarily agreed to participate in the study among second-year students of the Department of Nursing at U University located in K Province, randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group. For the collected data, frequency and percentage were used for general characteristics of subjects using SPSS Statistics 23.0 program, skewness and kurtosis were used for normality test, and the dependent variable test for measuring the effect of experimental treatment was analyzed by paired t-test. As a result of the study, PETTLEP model-based image training showed confidence in core basic nursing skills(t=4.18, p<.001) and competence (knowledge(t=2.241, p=.032), nursing skills(t=8.402, p<.001)), there were statistically significant differences in self-practice participation(t=6.822, p<.001). Based on the results of this study, the PETTLEP model-based image training provided Based on the results of this study, it was confirmed that PETTLEP model-based image training can be a teaching and learning method applicable to basic nursing education. In addition, PETTLEP model-based image training is expected to be utilized as a learning method to improve the competence of core basic nursing skills, which are recognized as difficult due to their high level of difficulty.

The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of importance in the knowledge of nursing records, critical thinking disposition and self-confidence of core nursing skills on clinical competence of nursing students. A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 201 Korean nursing students from October to December, 2020. As a result of the study, the factors affecting the clinical competence of nursing students were in the order of critical thinking disposition, importance in the knowledge of nursing records and self-confidence of core nursing skills(β=.43, .31, .24), and explanatory power was 61.9%. Therefore, it is recommend to develop and implement a teaching strategy that can integrate the major factors identified in this study for improving clinical competence of nursing students.

This exploratory study aims to identify effect on core nursing competency of nursing students who experienced convergence practice due to COVID-19. The subjects of this study surveyed 123 senior nursing students in U city with a structured self-report questionnaire analyzed by the SPSS 22.0 software, t-test, One-way ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The average scores for nursing competence scale, self-directed learning ability, learning satisfaction, learning outcomes were 3.99, 3.71, 4.11 and 4.25 out of 5.00. The factors affecting of students' nursing competencies were self-directed learning ability, learning outcomes with 29 percent being explained by these variables. Learning satisfaction did not affect core nursing competency. Through this study we found that high quality educational environment should be prepared to improve these limitations. it is considered that a clear and systematic standard for the educational environment and evaluation of clinical practice is needed.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of convergence-based reeducation of core basic nursing skills (subcutaneous injection, indwelling catheterization) on competence, knowledge, attitude and confidence for nursing students. Subjects were 34 nursing students and 3rd grade. Experimental treatment and data collection was conducted from December 14 to 29, 2013. Skills for subcutaneous injection including simple blood glucose test and indwelling catheterization were evaluated before and after intervention. Knowledge, attitude and confidence were measured using structured questionnaires. Data were analyzed by the frequency, descriptive statistics and paired t-test using SPSS version 21. As a result, after reeducation, significant improvement was found in competence (p<.001), knowledge (p<.001) and confidence (p<.001) in subcutaneous injection and indwelling catheterization. Convergence-Based reeducation program was found effective to enhance the competence of core basic nursing skills before graduating nursing students. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to develop program and to evaluate the effects with further research.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to set up a Nursing Core Competencies required for staff nurses and to set up Objectives for Nursing Clinical Education based on the Nursing Core Competencies. The objectives in this study are to be achieved ultimately through clinical practice because it is a common avenue of work and the basic objective regardless of the education system and curriculum. Method: A nursing Core Competencies were established by literature review and verified by 15 experts. Nursing Clinical Education Objectives were established by literature review and analysis, and a survey for validity using a five point Likert scale was given to 257 nursing professors, 503 head-nurses, 509 staff nurses who had less than 3 years clinical experience in 34 general hospitals and 738 senior student nurses from 81 nursing colleges. Result: Nine nursing core competencies were set up. In addition 39 Objectives for each of the nursing clinical core competencies were set up. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study will contribute to professional nursing education to provide comprehensive nursing care by applying knowledge to nursing practice to achieve the Nursing Pore Competency as a professional nurse.

Purpose: This study was to conducted to search for factors influencing the confidence of core fundamental nursing skill performance (CC) based on comparative analysis, of the relationship between problem solving ability (PS), self-directed learning ability (SL) and CC of nursing students. Methods: This study was conducted based on questionnaires (208) given to senior nursing students. Data were analyzed by the t-test, ANNOVA and Scheffe's test. Moreover, Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression were conducted to determine the relationship between items. Results: Proving Solving ability differed significantly in SC. In addition, satisfaction with core fundamental nursing skills (SL) differed significantly by gender, academic performance of last semester, support for nursing, and SC. Moreover, PS was found to have a normal relationship with SL and CC, and SL was found to have a normal relationship with CC. Conclusion: Education strategy should include methods of increasing the PS of student to improve CC in nursing education. Moreover, SL education should be used to increase nursing tasks and effective adaptation to their circumstances as a clinical nurse after graduation.

본 연구는 핵심기본간호술 학습경험과 중요도인식, 학습 자기효능감이 수행자신감에 미치는 영향을 파악하여 핵심기본간호술 수행능력 향상을 위한 학습전략 마련의 기초자료로 활용하고자 D지역 소재 일개대학 간호학과에 재학중인 학생 231명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 본 연구결과 학습경험은 학년에 따라, 학습 자기효능감과 수행자신감은 전공만족도와 실습만족도에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 핵심기본간호술 학습경험과 수행자신감, 학습 자기효능감과 수행자신감에서 긍정적 상관관계, 수행자신감에 영향을 미치는 요인은 학습 자기효능감과 학습경험순으로 나타났다. 따라서 핵심기본간호술 수행자신감을 향상시키기 위한 교육전략 수립 시 학습 자기효능감을 강화시키고, 학습경험을 증가시키는 방안이 필요하다.
