A Study on the Technology of Maritime Wireless Communications in Korea (국내 해양무선통신의 기술 현용 분석)

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 우리 나라에서 사용하는 해양무선통신을 육상국을 중심으로 주파수, 서비스의 종류, 통신의 종류, 항만의 분포 둥을 조사 분석하였다. 특히 1998년 5월부터 서비스가 시작된 초단파대역의 해양이동전화에 대한 내용을 중점적으로 조사하여 기재하고 있다. 해양이동전화의 경우, 기지국의 위치, 망구축, 번호의 이용과 단말기의 보급, 서비스계획, 주요제원, 서비스의 특징 둥을 조사 분석하여, 새롭게 시작하는 해상이동전화에 대한 이해를 도모하였다. 일본에서는 1979년 3월부터 자동교환접속에 의한 해상이동전화서비스가 시작된 것과 비교해볼 때, 우리 나라의 해상이동전화서비스는 매우 늦은 감이 있지만, 도서지역 주민들에 대한 생활수준의 향상 둥에 많은 기여를 할 것으로 생각된다. 이러한 해상이동전화 서비스의 시작은 지역간 정보통신서비스제공의 불균형을 해소하고 낙후된 해안ㆍ도서지역의 통신서비스개선에 큰 역할을 담당할 것이다.

  • Unfortunately, the area without economical efficiency, especially the far distance sea, is much lower than that of a urban area-built-up area. It should be promoted the equivalent level to a urban area in the light of future-oriented universal service. Actually, Because propagation environment of mobile communication in the sea is greatly different from that for inland focused on built-up area, a propagation prediction model in the sea should be distinguished from inland-based one. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to suggest the propagation prediction model for the sea service as a method to minimize unnecessary facilities investment and maintenance caused by additional or new building of a base station. If mobile phone service for far distance sea is provided by expanding limited communication zone of narrow band CDMA mobile communication whose spread band FA is 1.2288MHz. Suggested propagation prediction model includes five parameters to minimize facilities investment of a base station and maximize channel capacity: equivalent line of sight, chip delay by PN code, antenna altitude, power of base station and gain of antennas. Finally, suggested propagation prediction model is simulated and, the results are examined for its utility by comparing with loss of free space.

  • Since the adoption of GMDSS, the band 495-505 kHz has no longer been globally used for maritime calling and distress and the designation of this band for calling and distress was suppressed at WRC-07. In accordance with provision RR, maritime mobile operations are presently limited to radiotelegraphy. Accordingly, use of the band has diminished.This frequency band 415 kHz to 526.5 kHz and high frequencies is ideally suited to broadcast from shore to ship. The surface wave propagation of a coast station using this band can provide a coverage area from the coast to 400 nautical miles off shore.

  • In this paper, the main objective of maritime safty network is to prevent Marin Accident in advance and avoid the loss of lives and property efficiently. Our country's martime safety network was widly changed with its concerned rules and the operation methods through the complete operation of GMDSS system wewr enforced, but the loss of lives from marin accidents tends to increase against the general expectation.

  • 현재 널리 사용되고 있는 모바일 기기에서는 대부분 텍스트 위주의 메모 기능이 지원되고 있다. 특히 스타일러스 펜을 입력 도구로 사용하는 PDA(Personal Digital Assistant)와 같은 모바일 기기에서는 텍스트뿐만 아니라 그래픽 환경에서 드로잉을 이용한 메모 기능도 지원되고 있다. 그러나 기기의 특성상 제약이 많아 키패드를 주 입력 수단으로 사용할 수밖에 없는 모바일 기기에서는 이러한 방식의 그래픽 메모는 현실적으로 거의 불가능하여 일반적으로 지원되지 않고 있다. 그래픽 메모의 기능이 지원된다고 하더라도, 제한된 입력 환경에서 필요한 좌표 값의 입력을 위해 방향키를 이용하여 픽셀 단위로 포커스를 이동시키는 방법은 직관성을 보장할 수 있으나 그 속도가 매우 느려 실제 활용이 불가능하다. 반면, 필요한 좌표 값을 직접 키패드로 입력하여 그리는 경우에는 메모 시간은 상대적으로 감소할 수 있으나 그래픽 메모 시 그리고자 하는 형태에 대해 직관성을 확보할 수 없다. 이러한 한계점들을 극복하고 문제점들을 개선하여 휴대 전화와 같이 극히 제한된 환경에서 키패드를 주 입력 장치로 사용할 수밖에 없는 모바일 기기에서도 많은 장점을 지니고 있는 그래픽 메모를 보다 효과적으로 사용할 수 있도록, 본 논문에서는 다중 해상도를 이용한 입력 방법을 제안하고, 그 적용 가능성을 고찰하였다.

  • The maritime mobile communication system has been changing to the new system that is facilitated by the radio telex, digital selective calling and maritime satellite communications from the old system by the radio telegraphy and telephone according to the GMDSS. The NBDP using the ITA No.2 code is a useful media in the maritime communications and provides the procedures of telex. Also it can provide the efficient and more useful functions and the solutions for the incremental traffic requirements by adopting the Hangul code. So, in this paper, we proposed the new Korean NBDP code for the ITA No.2 code, designed and implemented the algorithm which is the processing of the Hangul NBDP code using the microprocessor.

  • Though there were many research and development about telemedicine on land recently, not yet applied to that on the shore. In this paper, when emergency clinic situation were generated in a ship on shore, the telemedicine system was designed and implemented for transfer and clinic service to doctors on the land by measuring basic body signals of patients. Presently, wireless communication and inmarsat telephone are usually used by simple questions and clinic consults to remote doctors when emergency situation were happened in the ship. In this paper, the telemedicine system on the shore were developed for improving this problems by measuring patient's fundamental conditions such as the blood pressure, pulse, the respiratory condition, electrocardiogram, body temperature, patient image and sending these information to remote doctors on land for more accurate prescription. The developed system can supply the high level clinic service to emergency patients on the shore and cope with the emergency situation in ship.

  • In recent years, using a smart phone that can access the Internet becomes routine in society through development of information and communication technology. On land, as especially actual accidents and research results show risk that using the smart phone while driving at the same time, and there are traffic laws and regulations that restriction of using of smart phone. But the regulations on the use of smart phones at sea is incomplete state. On this paper. We invested present status of use and reality of smart phone at sea and analyzed the subjective risk for judging to apply to regulation. And we analyzed risk quantitatively by using the simulation experiment; it Suggested a direction of guideline for use of smart phone at sea.
