  • 우리나라에서는 선박의 항로를 표시하기 위하여 등부표를 설치하여 운영하고 있으나 등부표는 수면하에 침추를 설치하고 체인으로 연결되는 특성으로 인하여 정확한 위치표시가 되지 않아 선박이 항로를 이탈하는 사고가 반발하여, 항해자가 정확한 항행목표를 이용하기어려운 실정에 있어, 이를 개선하기 위하여 시인성과 위치 유동성이 거의 없는 새로운 스파부이 개발방법에 대한 연구와 시험설치 효과를 분석하였다.

  • 항만 물류 관련 업무처리의 효율화를 위해 EDI가 도입되고 활용되고 있으나 많은 문제점들이 야기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라 EDI 활용실태를 실증적으로 조사하여 그 원인을 정확하게 분석함으로써 개선방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 조사결과 나타난 문제점들 중 중요한 내용을 살펴보면, 무역망과 물류망의 분리 운영, 항만 물류 관련 기관들 사이의 데이터베이스의 독립적 운영, 사용자시스템상의 문제 등이다. 이중에서도 사용자들에게 많은 부담을 주고있는 부분이 PORT-MIS EDI 사용자시스템인 것으로 판단되어 이에 대한 구체적 수준의 문제점 분석과 개선방안을 도출하여 제시하였다.

  • 전국 항만, 연안해역의 항로표지에 해양기상 및 조류신호표지를 구축하여 국지적 해양관측 정보를 실시간으로 서비스하고 있다. 이번 연구에서는 품질분석과 관계자간 간담회를 통해 얻은 현 문제점을 개선하기 위한 조치사항들을 통해 정상자료율을 높여 해양기상정보 서비스 품질을 개선하였다.

흰목이버섯 유래 고순도 다당체의 광노화 개선 Global 화장품 신소재 개발

  • 최근 길어진 여름 및 이상고온 현상이 지속됨에 따라 심화되는 광노화 피부의 특징으로는 건조, 굵고 깊은 주름, 탄력저하 및 불균일한 색소침착 등이 나타나게 됨. 화장품 소재는 기존 광노화 관련 화학물질인 Retinol 등을 대체하기 위해 자연 유래 성분을 적용한 신소재 연구를 진행하고 있음. 흰목이버섯(Tremella fuciformis)은 흰목이목에 속하는 버섯류로 자실체는 한천질로서, 주름이 되어 갈라져 있거나 또는 귓불 모양을 이루고 있으며, 크기는 10 cm 정도이다. 중국에서는 보양식의 주재료로 쓰일 만큼 탁월한 항노화 효능이 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 흰목이버섯의 자실체에서 추출하여 정제한 β-Glucan의 성분 확인, in vitro 수준의 피부 항노화 효과, 동물대체 독성 시험을 통한 피부독성 확인 및 인체 피부유효성 평가를 통한 항노화 효과를 확인하였다. 흰목이에서 추출, 정제 후 Bio-LC를 통한 유리당 분석 결과 Mannose, Fucose, Glucose를 확인하였으며, Human Keratinocyte에 UVB를 조사하여 광노화를 유발한 피부세포에 피부 자극 및 탄력저하 인자인 IL-6, TNFa 및 MMP-1을 평가한 결과 농도 의존적으로 현저히 개선됨을 확인하였다. 또한 보습 및 피부장벽 개선 인자인 Filaggrin과 Involucrin 생성효능을 평가한 결과 매우 높이 생성됨을 확인하였다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 광독성, 피부감작성 및 안점막 동물대체 독성시험을 실시한 결과 무독성임을 확인하여 피부에 안전하면서 효능이 우수한 것을 in vitro 수준에서 확인하였고, 피부 홍반완화, 주름개선, 탄력개선 및 보습증가 등 광노화 예방효과를 인체를 대상으로 평가한 결과 유의적인 홍반완화, 주름개선, 탄력 및 보습증가효과를 확인하였다. 본 연구결과를 종합하여 볼 때 흰목이버섯에서 추출, 정제한 β-Glucan은 in vitro 수준에서 자외선으로 인한 피부 트러블 완화, 탄력 및 보습개선을 확인하였고 독성시험을 통해 무자극임을 판정하였으며, 인체유효성 평가를 통해 광노화 예방효과를 확인하였으며 본 결과를 통해 아시아 및 글로벌 시장으로 천연유래 항노화 소재로 확장하고자 한다.

A Study on Decision of Minimum Required Channel Width Considering Ship Types by Fast Time Simulation (배속 시뮬레이션 기반의 선종별 최소 항로 폭에 관한 연구)

  • Waterway design should prioritize appropriate channel width to ensure preferential safe passage for the arrival and departure of vessels. To calculate the minimum channel width required for safe passage a comprehensive review of several factors is required. These factors include vessel maneuverability, determined by vessel size, type and speed; environmental factors such as wind, tide, and wave action; human factors, including personal experience and operator judgment as well as marine traffic and navigation support facilities for decision making. However, the Korean channel width design standard is based only on vessel length, and requires improvement when compared with the standards of PIANC, USA, and Japan. This study aims to estimate the appropriate channel width required for one-way traffic in a straight channel, considering various vessel and environmental factors, using Fast Time Simulation (FTS). When the wind speed is 25 knots, with a current speed of 2 knots and a normal vessel speed of 10 knots FTS shows that a 150K GT Cruise Ship requires a minimum channel width of 0.67-0.91 the vessel length (L), whereas a 120K TEU Container Ship and a 300K DWT VLCC require 0.79-1.17 and 1.02-1.59, respectively. Such results can be used to calculate the minimum channel width required for safe passage as an improved Korean design standard.

Improvement Plans for Anchorage at Yeosu·Kwangyang Port (여수·광양항 정박지 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • Relocation and expansion of existing port facilities are necessary given this increase in marine traffic volume and the presence of larger entering vessels. Therefore, this study focused on anchorage among water facilities, and examined the degree of harmony between anchorage and other water facilities at Yeosu Kwangyang Port. The number of anchoring vessels in relation to anchorage over the past 5 years, total anchored hours by anchorage-years, average number of simultaneously anchored vessels by anchorage-years, maximum number of simultaneously anchored vessels by anchorage, and maximum size of anchored vessels by anchorage have been surveyed. The minimum anchorage radius has been calculated according to the designated anchorage capacity according to anchorage. Finally, improvement plans for Yeosu Kwangyang Port's anchorage have been suggested, including relocating of Yeosu no. 2 anchorage, expanding of Kwangyang no. 1 ~ 5 anchorage, relocating of Kwangyang no. 8 ~ 9 anchorage, and repealing of Kwangyang no. 11 anchorage.

A Study on Efficiency and Productivity Analysis of Mokpo Port -DEA model and FCM combined analysis- (목포항의 효율성 및 생산성 분석에 관한 연구 -DEA모형과 FCM을 결합분석법-)

  • Until now, there have been few studies analyzing the efficiency of the Port of Mokpo and comparing it with other seaports in the country to identify the future direction of development for the port. In this paper, we use the data envelopment analysis (DEA) model in combination with the Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) to measure the efficiency and productivity of major ports in Korea, focusing on the Port of Mokpo. First, the study identifies which ports are efficient or inefficient based on technical or operational scale. Second, by using the MPI to overcome the shortfalls of the DEA model, the study can compare a port's performance across the years and evaluate the productivity of a port during the research period. Moreover, this study also applies fuzzy C-means (FCM) clustering to classify port groups based on the size of their infrastructure and their efficiency scores. Finally, it is possible to find ways to enhance the efficiency and future direction of development of the Port of Mokpo.

Hangbisan, Sulfur-based Oriental Medicine, Lowers the Blood Cholesterol Level of ob/ob Obese Mice (유전성 비만 마우스에 대한 항비산의 혈중 콜레스테롤 저하 효과)

  • Among oriental medicine, sulfur is known to generate heat in the human body. Since body warming reaction results in the consumption of energy source, the medicines containing sulfur could help in the weight loss of laboratory rats. This study was designed to determine the possible weight loss effects of Hangbisan, sulfur based oriental medicine, on ob/ob mice. The obese mice were fed with standard diet containing 10% (w/w) Hangbisan or 10% (w/w) cellulose during 12 weeks. Hangbisan affected the weight loss of obese mice as cellulose did during experimental periods, while also reducing the level of plasma total cholesterol. These results suggest that dietary Hangbisan improved the composition of blood profiles in obese mice, and therefore has potential as an anti-obesity ingredient in the application of oriental medicine compounds.

A Study on Improvements of Incheon International Passenger Port Management System (인천항 국제여객부두 관리체계 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Over the past 20 years, Korea's number of international passengers and freight transportation records has increased by 8.6% per year, respectively. However, despite the development of sea lanes and increased voyages, there have been constant calls for improving the inefficient management of international passenger ports. Hence, this paper presents improvements and further directions for international passenger port management. Focusing on the Incheon International passenger port as a representative case study, the main results show that the most important, urgent, possible measures for improving the port management include (i) the expansion of customs personnel and implementation of a 24-hours customs clearance system in operation, (ii) installation of buffer facilities between the ferry and ferry cargo and establishment of hinterland specialized in car ferry freight in a facility, and (iii) clear standards for cost-bearing subjects and limitation of high cost related to terminal use in institution. These results imply the need for government policy access and investment reflecting stakeholder opinions at various levels, such as operation, facilities, institution, and so forth, for efficient management of international passenger ports.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the new strategies for West coast ports, especially Mokpo Port development. This paper also analyzes the recently evolving change of shipping environment such as upsizing of vessels, horizontal and vertical integration strategies in the liner shipping industries through the mergers and acquisitions or strategic alliances, establishment of dedicated terminal and surging bunker charge. With shipping environment is rapidly changing, we examine how to cope with the current situation and suggest the solutions how to tackle shippers' and shipping companies' request. As a result of an empirical study, we found out that Mokpo Port suffers from the shortage of container cargo, container imbalance, insufficient forwarders and inland trucking service providers and hinterland transportation network system. With these obstacles settled, the number of container cargo can be induced to Mokpo Port and the regular container services between Mokpo and Chinese ports and Japanese ports loops were found to be competitive.
