A new double-pulse laser system that combines Raman and laser induced plasma spectroscopy (LIPS) in a single unit is proposed. The study attempts to enhance the laser induced plasma signals while simultaneously extracting the desired molecular signals from Raman spectroscopy. In low pressure conditions such as the lunar atmosphere, the measuring of plasma emission is hard because of the low electron density and short persistence time causing a rapid plasma expansion. Furthermore, in the integration of the detecting system aimed at space exploration, the minimization of laser system is important in terms of the payload mass. Simultaneous molecular and atomic detection that gave highly resolved spectral data at pressure below 0.07 torr is demonstrated amongst eight rock samples test. The plasma stacking produced from the double-pulse laser enhanced the signal intensity of calcium and oxygen lines in calcite matrix by twofold, compared to a conventional LIPS.
Ever since high resolution satellites were launched, high-resolution satellite images have been utilized in many areas. This paper proposed methods of generating simulated satellite image using DEM(Digital Elevation Model) and digital image such as aerial photograph. There are two methods proposed in the paper: one is Direct-Indirect method and the other Indirect-Indirect, method. It is assumed that satellite attitude is not changing and perspective center is moving in the direction of flight while image is captured. The proposed methods were implemented with aerial photograph, DEM data, arbitrary orbit parameters and attitude parameters of high resolution satellite image under generation. Furthermore, for the stereo viewing, different orientation parameters and perspective center were tested for generating simulated satellite image. In addition, the quality and accuracy of the simulated satellite image generated by the proposed methods were analyzed.
In this paper, the algorithm to extract the height of flat-rooftop structures in stereo aerial image is suggested with an assumption that location, orientation, focal length, and field of view of a camera are known. It can be adapted to stereo aerial or satellite images. For performing feature-based stereo matching, the line segments suitable to describe the shape of general buildings are chosen as the feature. This paper is composed of three categories;the first step is to extract edges of structures with the polygon extraction algorithm which utilizes the edge following method, the second step is to perform the line segment matching with the camera information, and the last step is to calculate the location of each matched line and to estimate heights. The stereo images used in experiments are not real but synthetic ones. The experiment shows good results.

In this study, we propose a method for detecting coastal surface wastes using an UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) remote sensing method and an object detection algorithm based on deep learning. An object detection algorithm based on deep neural networks was proposed to detect coastal debris in aerial images. A deep neural network model was trained with image datasets of three classes: PET, Styrofoam, and plastics. And the detection accuracy of each class was compared with Darknet-53. Through this, it was possible to monitor the wastes landing on the shore by type through unmanned aerial vehicles. In the future, if the method proposed in this study is applied, a complete enumeration of the whole beach will be possible. It is believed that it can contribute to increase the efficiency of the marine environment monitoring field.
The conceptual design lunar lander demonstrator has been developed to use as a test bed for advanced spacecraft technologies and to test a prototype planetary lander capable of vertical takeoff and landing. Size of the lunar lander demonstrator is the same as that of lunar lander conceptually designed, however, the weight of lunar lander demonstrator is designed in 1/6 scale in consideration of gravity difference between moon and earth. The thruster clustering and virtual flight test were performed in the demonstrator fixed on the ground. The demonstrator ground test has been conducted for two months in the test site for the solid motor combustion of the Goheung Flight Center. The purposes of ground test of demonstrator are to demonstrate and verify essential electronics, propulsion system, control algorithm, embedded software, structure and system operation technologies before developing the flight model lander. This paper is described about the virtual flight test including test configuration, test aims and test facilities
The advent of towed geo-electrical array surveying on water and land has resulted in datasets of magnitude approaching that of airborne electromagnetic surveying and most suited to 1D inversion. Robustness and complete automation is essential if processing and reliable interpretation of such data is to be viable. Sharp boundaries such as river beds and the top of saline aquifers must be resolved so use of smoothness constraints must be minimised. Suitable inversion algorithms must intelligently handle low signal-to-noise ratio data if conductive basement, that attenuates signal, is not to be misrepresented. A noise-level aware inversion algorithm that operates with one elastic thickness layer per electrode configuration has been coded. The noise-level aware inversion identifies if conductive basement has attenuated signal levels so that they are below noise level, and models conductive basement where appropriate. Layers in the initial models are distributed to span the effective depths of each of the geo-electric array quadrupoles. The algorithm works optimally on data collected using geo-electric arrays with an approximately exponential distribution of quadrupole effective depths. Inversion of data from arrays with linear electrodes, used to reduce contact resistance, and capacitive-line antennae is plausible. This paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the algorithm using theoretical examples and an example from a salt interception scheme on the Murray River, Australia.

With the development of drone and ICT convergence technology, the use of underwater drones such as leisure underwater drones such as underwater exploration for fishing and industrial drones such as bridge piers is increasing. Existing motor controllers are suitable for aerial drones and these can increase the completeness of underwater drones and their reliability in motor control by developing BLDC motor controllers dedicated to underwater drones. By developing a battery management system (BMS) exclusively for underwater drones, battery stability was ensured by checking the state of charge, checking the state of discharge, adjusting cell balancing, and implementing high/voltage protection functions.

Absolute radiometric calibration is a crucial process in converting the electromagnetic signals obtained from satellite sensors into physical quantities. It is performed to enhance the accuracy of satellite data, facilitate comparison and integration with other satellite datasets, and address changes in sensor characteristics over time or due to environmental conditions. In this study, field campaigns were conducted to perform vicarious calibration for the multispectral channels of the CAS500-1. Two valid field observations were obtained under clear-sky conditions, and the top-of-atmosphere (TOA) radiance was simulated using the MODerate resolution atmospheric TRANsmission 6 (MODTRAN 6) radiative transfer model. While a linear relationship was observed between the simulated TOA radiance of tarps and CAS500-1 digital numbers(DN), challenges such as a wide field of view and saturation in CAS500-1 imagery suggest the need for future refinement of the calibration coefficients. Nevertheless, this study represents the first attempt at absolute radiometric calibration for CAS500-1. Despite the challenges, it provides valuable insights for future research aiming to determine reliable coefficients for enhanced accuracy in CAS500-1's absolute radiometric calibration.

The design strategy of the multi-functional structure is that the electrical components and the circuits are directly put on their supporting structural panel in which the radiation shields and the thermal control functions are integrated. Applying the multi-functional structure reduces the total mass and size of the space system and makes it possible to lower launch cost. In present study the performance of thermal radiation for six types of multi-functional structure are investigated by the numerical method. The effect of the rib configuration on heat transfer for the multi-functional-structure is not important alone but is meaningful considering with the structural stiffness, difficulty of manufacturing and mass increase. In heat spreading point of view, the thickness of the outer conductive layer is important rather than the rib configuration and the trade-off study with the mass and thickness is required for optimum design.
Spatial data integration using multiple geo-based data sets has been regarded as one of the primary GIS application issues. As for this issue, several integration schemes have been developed as the perspectives of mathematical geology or geo-mathematics. However, research-based approaches for statistical/quantitative assessments between integrated layer and input layers are not fully considered yet. Related to this niche point, in this study, spatial data integration using multiple geoscientific data sets by known integration algorithms was primarily performed. For spatial integration by using raster-based GIS functionality, geological, geochemical, geophysical data sets, DEM-driven data sets and remotely sensed imagery data sets from the Ogdong area were utilized for geological thematic mapping related by mineral potential mapping. In addition, statistical/quantitative information extraction with respective to relationships among used data sets and/or between each data set and integrated layer was carried out, with the scope of multiple data fusion and schematic statistical assessment methodology. As for the spatial integration scheme, certainty factor (CF) estimation and principal component analysis (PCA) were applied. However, this study was not aimed at direct comparison of both methodologies; whereas, for the statistical/quantitative assessment between integrated layer and input layers, some statistical methodologies based on contingency table were focused. Especially, for the bias reduction, jackknife technique was also applied in PCA-based spatial integration. Through the statistic analyses with respect to the integration information in this case study, new information for relationships of integrated layer and input layers was extracted. In addition, influence effects of input data sets with respect to integrated layer were assessed. This kind of approach provides a decision-making information in the viewpoint of GIS and is also exploratory data analysis in conjunction with GIS and geoscientific application, especially handing spatial integration or data fusion with complex variable data sets.
