Open access has emerged as an alternative to overcome the crisis brought by scholarly communication on commercial publishers. The purpose of this study is to suggest the intellectual structure that reflects the newest research trend in the field of open access, to identify how the subject area is structured by using co-word analysis, and compare and analyze with the existing study. In order to do this, the total number of dataset was 761 papers collected from Web of Science during the period from January 2012 to November 2018 using information science and 2,321 keywords as a noun phase are extracted from titles and abstracts. To analyze the intellectual structure of open access, 13 topic clusters are extracted by network analysis and the keywords with higher centrallity are drawn by visualizing the intellectual relationship. In addition, after clustering analysis, the relationship was analyzed by plotting the result on the multidimensional scaling map. As a result, it is expected that our research helps the research direction of open access for the future.

This study aims to identify the methods of implementation for the 'National Research Foundation of Korea Open Access 2021(Plan)'. This study covers the methods of implementation in the three following core items: 1) developing the details on the amount, method, and procedures of APC support; 2) proposing methods for facilitating the transition of domestic Korean academic journals to open access journals; and 3) developing methods of entrusting papers to open access repositories. APC support should be guaranteed at a reasonable level. The average or median of APC values for the previous three years will be applied to set the upper limit for support each year. APC support will be provided when the paper is published to open access journals or transitioning journals to open access. Hybrid journals or dual access journals are not included. Support for open access publishing of academic journals in Korea during the transition period will be available for open access journals that have registered for CCL in KJCI or journals that have submitted their application for transitioning to open access. Publishing in hybrid, dual access or subscription-based journals must be accompanied by items related to copyright such as embargo. Research results will be used for the detailed implementation plan of 'NRF OA2021 (Plan)'. They will serve as the base data for the rapid, stable, and sustainable implementation of open access policy in NRF, addressing the Korean domestic academic journal publishing environment and the field of international academic communication.

This study aims to investigate the awareness and experiences of domestic researchers regarding data publishing, which has been recognized as a new channel of data sharing as scholarly communication evolves in the open science environment. A survey is conducted among researchers from five government-funded research institutes in the field of science and technology and members of the GeoAI Data Society to confirm the awareness of data publishing. As a result of the study, domestic researchers recognized providing explanations for data, stable access to data, citation, and quality assurance through peer review as the advantages of data journals. On the contrary, a low level of recognition for data paper as one of the research outputs was presented. With regard to the properties of data publication, the respondents answered that the data description, metadata description, and permanent identifiers are highly related, however, their recognition of the relation between the properties of data publication and the data submission to a repository and data peer review was relatively low. Finally, to expand the data publication, the need for the development of an editorial system that supports data paper peer review and cross-linking to a data repository as well as the development of a repository that supports data citation was identified. This study on the domestic researchers' experience and awareness of data publishing can provide insights for the implementation of data publishing services and infrastructure in the future.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of academic journals and scholarly events published and operated by the four major academic societies in library and information science (Korean Library and Information Science Society, Korean Society for Library and Information Science, Korean Biblia Society for Library and Information Science, and Korea Society for Information Management). An online survey was carried out to know the members' perceptions of journals' quality, number, review process, publication/distribution, readership, practicality, interdisciplinarity, internationalization, and differentiation. In addition, the reasons for participation and non-participation in scholarly events, the degree of achievement of the purpose, differentiation between scholarly events, and ways to revitalize joint academic conferences were examined. A total of 197 members of the four societies completed the survey. The findings showed that the overall quality of the four journals was good, but they still needed to be improved in the review process, publication and distribution, readership, practicality, and internationalization. Strategies to specialize each journal needed to be considered as well. To revitalize scholarly events, large-scale joint academic conferences can be organized to encourage the participation of researchers and practitioners, considering both academic and social aspects of research and practice. This study mainly reported the results of the online survey. Also, it shed light on the suggestions to improve the academic journals and scholarly events in the field of library and information science based on the findings from the case studies of international academic journals and events as well as the group discussions and feedback from the participants at the joint conferenece held in December 2022.

A Records manager and archivist should have the academic knowledge and working ability due to the working character. Archives and records centers are being changed with developing information technology so that they are requiring a records manager and archivist to have a professional working ability through a variety of practice. However, in recent, the curriculum of Korean archival graduate schools focuses on a theoretical field and neglects to apply a theory to a working field. Therefore, in this paper, the writer compares some elements to improve the working ability shown in the curriculum of Korean and American archival graduate programs, and suggests the method to cultivate a theoretical knowledge as well as working ability. The cultivating ways the writer suggests are as follows: To improve the working ability in a practical field of the curriculum of archival graduate school in Korea, the writer suggests -- 1. increasing the grades of major field and college courses, and changing the practice subject to an obligatory subject, and 2. developing an internship program for a full practice with company, government, and college, and 3. operating a continuous training program that an records manager engaging in records center and archives can acquire a new knowledge and technology and apply the professionalism to a working field.

This study examined the effect size of virtual reality programs on the upper extremity function of stroke patients through a meta-analysis. Databases, such as the Research Information Sharing Service, the Korean Studies Information Service System, the National Library of Korea, the Korean Citation Index, and the National Digital Science Library, were used. Previous articles were surveyed for virtual reality programs between January 2010 and June 2019. A meta-analysis was performed by selecting the final 14 studies based on the PICO standard. The RoB and RoBANS tools were used as quality assessment tools for randomized and non-randomized control trials, respectively. The CMA 3.0 program was used to calculate the effect size of each study. Sub-group analysis, meta-regression analysis, and publication bias were performed. The total effect size of the virtual reality programs on the upper extremity function was Hedges's g=0.390 (95% CI: 0.192~0.587) (p<.05). The virtual reality program positively affects the upper extremity function of stroke patients. Therefore, the development of various virtual reality programs and industry-academia cooperation technology for stroke patients is required in accordance with the fourth industry. Randomized control trials and detailed upper extremity function studies for virtual reality programs will be needed in follow-up studies.

The Toyo Bunko (東洋文庫) in Tokyo, Japan is one of the largest library that holds the Korean old geographical documents. About 200 topographies of counties and prefectures, including Giinhansangnyang 杞人間商量 which recorded compilation and improvement plan of the geographical annals belong to it. Several maps and geographical annals of Joseon Period possessed in the Toyo Bunko are set high values on geography since the materials are only belong to it and have not yet been found in Korea. There are very important map collections including six copies of Daedongyeojido 大東輿地圖(1861, 1864) by Kim Jeongho(金正浩) and Suseonjeondo 首善全圖 by Kim, Jungho, collectible stamp of Maema Kyosaku(前間恭作) is imprinted on it, and Gangyeokjundo 疆域全圖 and Dongyeodo 東輿圖 which made with 20-ri and 10-ri grid, owned by Sidehara Daira(幣原坦). Especially Gwanbukjido 關北地圖 which is the northern border map recorded the Lee Sam's(李森) preface who served as a military official of Hamgyeong and Pyeongan Province in early 18th century. These maps and some other maps have a historical value to supplement of the history of Korean Cartography.

This study reviews the basics of earthquake preparedness from several archives and international cases of earthquake damage and restoration to establish an earthquake preparedness plan in Korean archives. The results of the study are as follows: first, to establish the direction of an earthquake preparedness plan, the study summarizes the basic characteristics of an earthquake and its damages, as well as applies the key elements of disaster preparedness planning after reviewing its basic principles. Second, the study analyzes four international cases that may have significant implications for the earthquake preparedness plan in Korea. Given this, four international cases present lessons and limitations such as the book dropping of a library in Japan, the collapse of archives in Germany, damaged archives because of a massive earthquake in New Zealand, and earthquake preparedness and recovery plans in cultural heritage sectors. Third, to apply the information from overseas cases to domestic, the study examines the lessons, the key elements of earthquake preparedness planning, and the public record standard for Korean archives through the mutual linking process, as well as issues that should be considered. The issues reviewed in this study could help Korean archives establish a realizable earthquake preparedness plan in the future.

The Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology provides the documents and information on the construction technology through the Construction Technology Digital Library System to enhance the technological competitiveness of the construction engineers. The purpose of this study is to measure the monetary value of information service quality in order to improve the documents and information service quality provided by this system. For this purpose, a questionnaire model was designed to apply the DBDC- CVM. We surveyed the members of 300 this systems for the amount of information that they are willing to pay to maximize the quality of information service. The correlation between the dependent variable and the explanatory variables was analyzed with the basic statistics of the survey results. The independent variables affecting the dependent variable are statistically significant. The logit model is used to estimate the monetary value of individual respondents who are willing to pay for information service quality. In previous research, we measured the use value of information service. On the other hand, this study shows that the measurement of value based on information service quality is different from previous research.

The importance of data publishing in the open-science era is increasing as it can contribute to other scientific discoveries by accelerating the sharing of research data, improving accessibility and citability, and providing standardized technical documentation for research data. In addition, the need for data papers is emerging as a way for data papers to maintain a status equivalent to research papers, and the publication of data journals is on the rise as a new type of scholarly publishing. In particular, the field of Ecology is a field where large-scale research data are produced and managed, thus the data journal publishing in this field is active worldwide. On the other hand, the research on data journal is in its early stages in Korea, and there is no data journal in the field of Ecology. Thus, this study explores and presents strategies for publishing data journals in the ecological field. First, we investigate the publishing status of domestic and international data journals and the publication status of domestic journals. Then, we conducted a focused group interview with experts of scholarly publishing, open access policy and journal publishing in the field of Ecology. Finally, based on the survey and the expert FGI's results, strategies are suggested in terms of publishing data journals in the field of ecology, organizing and publishing journals, organizing journal editors, and receiving manuscripts.
