  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of burnout, verbal abuse experience, and social support on job embeddedness in the Small and Medium Sized Hospital Nurses. The data were collected from 497 nurses by means of self-reported questionnaires on August 23th to October 30th, 2017. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results showed that burnout, verbal abuse experience, social support, and position were identified as the factors affecting the nurse's job embeddedness (Adjusted $R^2=.45$). Therefore, to enhance nurses' job embeddedness, it is necessary to reduce nurse's burnout and increase social supports from supervisor and colleague. Additionally, the nurse leaders should prepare a verbal abuse prevention program for nurses.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of social support in relations between alcoholics' depression and suicidal ideation. The subjects were diagnosed with alcohol dependence by the DSM-IV, and are currently hospitalized at the hospitals in Busan, Ulsan, etc. for alcohol treatment. After explaining the purpose of this study to the participants, the questionnaires were distributed to those who agreed to the research and survey was self-written. Through this process, 217 questionnaires were analyzed. The Survey was done from October 1 to November 1, 2017. To examine the mediating effect of social support, 3steps' mediated regression analysis and Sobel test were done. The result of mediated regression analysis show halfly mediated effect of social support on alcoholics' suicidal ideation. According to these findings, intervention strategies that focus on increasing the social support on alcoholics are suggested.

  • The purpose of this case study was to examine how a supportive songwriting program could facilitate resilience for adolescents with school maladjustment. Participants included four middle school students with adaptive difficulties. The participants received eight 50-minute sessions of a supportive songwriting program. The program consisted of singing and discussing selected songs, followed by the participants creating their own lyrics about their current adaptation issues. The Resilience Scale for Adolescents was completed by each participant before and after the intervention, and the participants' lyrics were analyzed for how the factors of resilience were reflected in their lyrics. The results showed that all participants' scores on the resilience scale increased. It was also found that the factor on the resilience scale that increased the most for each participant was related to the issues expressed in their lyrics. The results suggest that the process of writing songs can be effective in eliciting adolescents' school related issues and accessing their positive resources, which can lead to behavioral and psychological improvements.

  • The study aimed to effect of leisure support and leisure constraints on life satisfaction for extreme sports participants. A total of 368 adults from Seoul, In-chon, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheng-do were recruited. I conducted frequency, reliability, confirmatory factor, correction, and structure equaling modeling analyses using PASW Statistics 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The results were as follows: (1) leisure support of extreme sport participants has no influence on leisure constraints; (2) leisure support of extreme sport participants had no influence on life satisfaction; (3) leisure constrain of extreme sports had a positive influence on life satisfaction. The article revealed which sport activity as like leisure activity had influence on life satisfaction, and leisure support of participants were related with life satisfaction. Therefore, we continue need to induce to join a extreme sport as it publicize a good benefits for extreme sport.

  • This study was conducted to confirm the mediating effect of self-esteem and social support in the relationship between life stress and depression in middle-aged men. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program, t-test, ANOVA, pearson's correlation coefficient, SPSS Process Macro (Model 4), and bootstrapping approach. As a result of this study, when considering the effect of self-esteem, a parameter in the relationship between life stress and depression, the direct effect of life stress on depression was .49. Considering the effect of social support as a parameter, the direct effect of life stress on depression was .50. That is, when the parameters were not considered, life stress decreased compared to the overall effect of .62 on depression. Through this, it was confirmed that self-esteem and social support had a mediating effect in the relationship between life stress and depression.

  • In this study, geometric calculation was performed to investigate the influence of the combined effect of tilt and misorientation on the pullout capacity of suction anchor used in floating offshore wind turbine. When considering the combined effect of tilt and misorientation, it was observed that they do not proportionally affect the pullout capacity but rather influence each other relatively. Criteria considering both tilt and misorientation are not provided in existing literature or DNV recommendation. Therefore, based on the comprehensive results of this study, a proposed decrease in pullout capacity within 3% is suggested.

  • Load testis are executed on model reticulated root piles (RRP) to figure out the optimum slanting angle in the piles installation. One set of model RRP consists of 8 slanting piles which are installed in circular patterns forming two concentric circles, each of which is made by 4 piles. Each pile which is a steel bar of 5m in diameter and 300mm in length is coated to become a pile of 6.5mm in diameter. The slanting angle of the model RRP varies from 0$^{\circ}$ to 20$^{\circ}$ Comparing ultimate bearing capacities of the model RRP of different installation angles, it is observed that the ultimate capacities of the RRP increase as the installation angle increases until 15$^{\circ}$, and the optimum slanting angle of the RRP is around 15$^{\circ}$ The ultimate bearing capacity of the 15$^{\circ}$-RRP is found to be 22% bigger than that of the vertical RRP and 120% bigger than that of the circular surface footing whose diameter is same with the circle formed by outer root piles'heads. However, it is noticed that when the slanting angle of the RRP is increased over 15$^{\circ}$, the ultimate capacity starts to be reduced. The ultimate capacity of 20$^{\circ}$-RRP is even smaller than that of the vertical RRP by as much as 5%. From the observation of the load settlement curve obtained during the RRP load tests, it is known that as the slanting angle gets bigger the load -settlement behavior becomes more ductile.

  • A study of 117 Korean immigrant women who had husband and(or) children in Hawaii found the relation between social networks and psychological well-being. Social networks composed supporters, support structure, and support contents. Psychological well-being examined family life satisfaction, family life stability, and women's psychological health. Results showed as followed. First, the choice of immigration place among Korean immigrant women and her family based on other family members and friends lived in there. Second, her supporters were family and relatives, Korean friends, foreign friends, religions, belonged organizations and groups, public agencies in Hawaii, and mass-media. The best supporters of them was family and relatives and they mostly provided mental health to Korean immigrant women. Family, Korean friends, foreign friends, and religions tended to support emotional assistance. Third, the level of psychological well-being was higher. Her level of psychological health was higher than the others. Fourth, the best predictors of psychological well-being were child existence, occupation, and immigration duration. Fifth, psychological well-being significantly distinguished different relations of supporters from support structure of social network. The number and support duration with foreign friends supporter and the support duration and the level of perceived useful support content highly related with psychological well-being.

  • Offshore wind turbine (OWT) receive a combined vertical-horizontal- moment load by wind, waves, and the structure's own weight. In this study, the bearing capacity for the combined load of the suction foundation of OWT installed on the sandy soil was calculated by finite element analysis. In addition, the stress state of the soil around the suction foundation was analyzed in detail under the condition that a combined load was applied. Based on the results of the analyses, new equations are proposed to calculate the horizontal and moment bearing capacities as well as to define the capacity envelopes under general combined loads.

  • The relation among social support, depressive symptoms, and living arrangements were examined in a non-random sample of 175 adults age 60 and older. A convenience sample was obtained through a personal interview. A structural equation modeling approach was used to explore the role of social support in the relation between the living arrangements of elderly Koreans and their level of depressive symptoms. These results are consistent with previous analyses suggesting that social support plays a significant role in moderating depressive symptoms, in relation to negative living arrangements among older Korean populations (the buffering-effect hypothesis).
