  • The objective of this study was to identify the effect of lumbar lordotic curve adjustment on head and neck posture in older adults. Methods Twenty healthy older participants (mean age 71.32) were photographed while watching monitor in sitting with or without lumbar roll support(length 28cm, diameter 10cm). The upper cervical angle and lower cervical angle were measured using the NIH ImageJ 1.32. Comparisons between upper and lower cervical angle with or without lumbar roll support were made using paired-t test analysis. Results Subjects demonstrated a significant difference in the mean upper and lower cervical angle. Mean difference of the upper cervical angle was about $2.83^{\circ}$ with and without lumbar roll support(p<0.005). Mean difference of the lower cervical angle was about $4.44^{\circ}$ with and without lumbar roll support(p<0.0001). Conclusions This study showed that healthy older adults demonstrated more ability to maintain an upright posture of cervical spine during lumbar lordotic curve maintenance with lumbar roll support than without lumbar roll support. When the clinicians consider improvement of the head and neck posture in older adults, they must incorporate adjustment in the lumbar region.

  • This study aims to prove the mediating effect of emotion dysregulation and perceived social support in the relationship between covert narcissism on the relation addiction. The researchers surveyed college students for about 3 weeks through a questionnaire on college campus or with the help of their colleagues and professors. The subjects were 362 students. SPSS, AMOS and Mplus were used for statistical analysis, correlation analysis and structural equation analysis. The conclusions are as follows : First, emotion dysregulation, relation addiction and covert narcissism showed positive correlation and covert narcissism, emotion dysregulation, relation addiction and perceived social support showed a significant negative correlation. Second, it was found that after investigating the mediation effect of emotion dysregulation and perceived social support in the influence between covert narcissism and relation addiction, emotion dysregulation turned out to have a significant mediating effect while perceived social support did not. Third, dual mediating effect was significant in emotion dysregulation and perceived social support in the influence between covert narcissism and relation addiction. These findings proved that covert narcissism, emotion dysregulation, perceived social support are variables that effect relation addiction, and also clarified that emotion dysregulation is a strong mediating variable in the influence between covert narcissism and relation addiction. Finally, when counseling a client with the same tendency as covert narcissism, it gives an opportunity to be aware of the emotional problem and an opportunity to positively perceive its own social resources, so as not to reach interpersonal problems such as relationship addiction pointed out the need for an approach.

  • The approach slab plays an important role in the driving comfort of the connection section on a bridge. On the other hand, the approach slab only calculates the section force of a simple beam, and does not analyze the behavior. In this study, the unsupported length and settlement of approach slabs of IPM Bridges were examined using structural analysis. First, the section force was calculated by designing a simple beam, according to the length of the approach slab. The structural analysis was conducted to examine the behavior of the unsupported length and settlement. As the result, the bending moment decreased when the unsupported length was increased, and the bending moment increased when the settlement was increased. In addition, the design section force was estimated to be larger than the force of structural analysis, and the design of the approach slab according to the design guideline showed no problem in stability. Nevertheless, the vertical displacement exceeded the maintenance criterion of a 1/200 curve when the settlement exceeded 10 mm regardless of the unsupported length. Therefore, excessive settlement occurs in the reinforced earth retaining wall supporting the approach slab, and the design bending moment may be exceeded. Therefore, strict management is required.

  • This study was designed to examine the effects of self-efficacy and social support on test anxiety among nursing students taking the National Examination for Registered Nurses. A convenience sample of 212 nursing students was obtained from three nursing colleges. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire during December 2015. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlations and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 18.0. The mean score for test anxiety was located in the middle range, with the score of $2.84{\pm}0.53$; those for self-efficacy and social support were located higher in the 1-5 scale, each scoring $3.50{\pm}0.54$ and $3.72{\pm}0.48$. Test anxiety correlated negatively with self-efficacy (r=-.32, p<.001), social support (r=-.27, p<.001), friends support (r=-.21, p=.002), family support (r=-.25, p<.001) and professor support (r=-.14, p=.038). Self-efficacy, family support and gender explained 13.0% of participants' test anxiety (F=11.01, p<.001). Findings from this study suggests that improving the self-efficacy and family support will be helpful for nursing students to relieve their test anxiety.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual status of Internet gaming disorder in university students, the relationship between perceived stress, social support, lifestyle and Internet gaming disorder, and the medium effect of social support in the relationship between perceived stress and Internet gaming disorder. The main results of the survey and analysis of 1,154 university students located in Gyeonggi Province are as follows. First, the prevalence of Internet gaming disorder among university students was 14.0 percent, which is very high. Second, the perceived stress had a positive correlation with the Internet gaming disorder. The more negatively perceived stress events occurred by university students, the higher the degree of internet gaming disorder was. Third, social support had a negative correlation with perceived stress and internet gaming disorder. The higher the support of parents, friends, and others, the lower the perceived stress and the lower the internet gaming disorder. Fourth, social support partially mediated the relationship between perceived stress and Internet gaming disorder. Even though stress was negatively perceived, the degree of internet gaming disorder was low when social support was high. Fifth, among the lifestyle habits of students, the rate of alcoholism was higher in the Internet gaming disorder group than in the non-disorder group. Finally, the results of the study and ways to prevent Internet gaming disorder among university students were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether social support produced any mediating effects when needy single mothers' sense of social exclusion affected their own will to escape poverty. The subjects in this study were 376 poor single mothers who resided in the cities of Busan, Gimhae and Yangsan and who were in their 20s to 60s. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the single mothers who lived in poverty were given less social support when they felt more excluded in the dimensions of health, relationships, production, consumption, political participation and housing. Second, the needy single mothers had a more will to escape poverty when more social support was provided and less will to escape poverty when they felt more excluded in the dimensions of health, relationships, production, consumption, political participation and housing. Third, social support produced mediating effects when social exclusion affected the will to escape poverty. The findings of the study suggest that in order to relieve needy single mothers' sense of social exclusion and bolster their will to escape poverty, formal social support from the nation and local community and informal social support from neighbors, friends and relatives should both be strengthened.

  • The aim of this study is to identify whether college students' self-discrepancy has an effect on their well-being and to verify the moderating effect of social support on the relation between self-discrepancy and well-being. For this study, the preliminary research was conducted in the way that questionnaire tests on self-discrepancy, well-being, and social support were administered to 587 college students in Busan and Gyeongnam province. The test results were analyzed by means of SPSS 21.0 program. First, average and standard deviation were analyzed to examine the general characteristics of self-discrepancy, well-being and social support. Second, correlation analysis was used to examine the relationships between variables. Third, hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to examine the moderating effect of social support on the relation between self-discrepancy and well-being. The conclusions drawn from the analysis are as follows. First, self-discrepancy had a significant negative correlation with well-being and social support had a significant positive correlation with well-being. Second, contrary to the research hypothesis, social support had no moderating effect on the relationship between self-discrepancy and well-being. Based on these findings, the implications and the limitations of the research findings were discussed, and recommendations for future research were provided.
