A container terminal productivity is maximized by a minimized time for processing containers. So, we have been elevated the container terminal productivity through an improvement of computing system, but there are a limitation because of problems for transportation management and method. A Y/T(Yard Tractor), which is a representative transportation, is able to do only one process, loading or unloading, at one time. So if the Y/T can do loading and unloading step by step at a same time, the processing time would be shortened. In this paper, we proposed an effective operating process of Y/T(Yard Tractor) Multi-Cycle System by applying RTLS(Real Time Location System) to Y/T(Yard Tractor) in order to improve the process of loading and unloading at the container terminal. For this, we described Multi-Cycle System. This system consists of a real time location of Y/T based on RTLS, an indicating of Y/T location in real time with GIS technology, and an algorithm(Dijkstra's algorithm) of the shortest distance. And we used the system in container terminal process and could improve the container terminal productivity. As the result of simulation for the proposed system in this paper, we could verify that 9% of driving distance was reduced compared with the existing rate and 19% of driving distance was reduced compared with the maximum rate. Consequently, we could find out the container performance is maximized.

It is clear that when the amplitude of grinding chatter increases enough the contact between grinding wheel and workpiece cannot be sustained and the loss of contact occurs during a period of grinding chatter. In this paper the behavior of nonlinear grinding chatter due to the loss of contact has been studied. A nonlinear grinding chatter loop is developed where the loss of contact is considered as a nonlinear element of asymmetrical gain. The analysis is carried out in the time domain by numerical simulation and also in the complex domain by use of describing function method. The results show that two typical patterns of nonlinear grinding chatter can originate from the nonlinearity. One is an irregular chatter frequency at starting stage decreases to the natural frequency of grinding structure while the chatter amplitude increases and decreases repeatedly. The other is a limit cycle chatter of which the amplitude and frequency converge to constant and remain. This nonlinear behavior of grinding chatter has been well analyzed by the describing function method and confirmed by the numerical simulation.
Customers' needs change every moment. Profitability of stores can't be increased anymore with an existing standardized chain store management. Accordingly, a personalized store management tool needs through prediction of customers' preference. In this study, we propose a recommending procedure using dynamic customers' preference by analyzing the transaction database. We utilize self-organizing map algorithm and association rule mining which are applied to cluster the chain stores and explore purchase sequence of customers. We demonstrate that the proposed methodology makes an effect on recommendation of products in the market which is characterized by a fast fashion and a short product life cycle.
This article investigates the problem of data preprocessing for the precision orbit determination (POD) of low earth orbit satellite using GPS .aw data. Several data preprocessing algorithms have been developed to edit the GPS data automatically such that outlier deletion, cycle slip identification and correction, and time tag error correction. The GPS data are precisely edited for the accuracy of POD. Some methods of data preprocessing are restricted to the rate of the collections of the pseudorange and carrier phase measurements. This study considers the preprocessing efficiency varied with the rate, the quality of receiver and the altitude of the satellite's orbit. We also propose the proper methods in accordance with the rate for single frequency and dual frequency receivers.

LDPC (low density parity check) code shows near Shannon limit performance by iterative decoding based on sum-product algorithm (SPA). Message updating procedure between variable and check nodes in SPA is done by a scheduling method. LDPC code shows different performance according to scheduling schemes. The conventional researches have been shown that the shuffled BP (belief propagation) algorithm shows better performance than the standard BP algorithm although it needs less number of iterations. However the reason is not analyzed clearly. Therefore the reason of difference in performance according to LDPC decoding algorithms is analyzed in this paper. 4 cases according to satisfaction of parity check condition are considered and compared. As results, the difference in the updating procedure in a cycle in the parity check matrix is considered to be the main reason of performance difference.

Most of the aerospace propulsion is based on the Brayton cycle, in which the combustion is held through the constant pressure process, but further improvement of performance by increasing compression ratio is challenged by mechanical limits. Detonation propulsions, regarded promising for high-speed propulsion for a lase decade, is more rigorously studied in these days as a game-changer for the improvement of thermodynamic efficiency of propulsion and power generation systems. Since, the additional compression by the strong shock of the detonation wave is considered increasing thermodynamics efficiency that is hardly achievable by the conventional compression systems. Present paper will give an introduction the latest technical trends on the Pulse Detonation Engines(PDEs) and the activities on the Pressure Gain Combustion (PGC) based on Constant Volume Combustion (CVC).
In this experimental research, it was studied to compare with pure gasoline and the fuels of RM50 (reformulated methanol fuel) for performance and exhaust emissions without reconstruction of engine systems. RM50 has a wider range of combustion limitation, which is one of the methanol's characteristics. This causes a stable driving state of RM50 in the experimental condition of unstable state and a low cycle by cycle variation which is used to determine the driving state. It is determined that fuel stability is better because cycle by cycle variation varies within 10%, therefore, driving characteristics is relatively good. In all conditions, RM50 has lower exhaust emissions of CO, HC, NOx than gasoline fuel, however, RM50's noise characteristics are 0.5~2dB higher at all condition, and in the result of the experiments of rubber fusion, it increases the utility possibility of RM50.

In order to overcome the detection limit by the current nondestructive evaluation technology, a nonlinear resonant ultrasound spectroscopy(NRUS) technique was applied for detection of micro-scale cracks in a material. A down-shift of the resonance frequency and a variation of normalized amplitude of the resonance pattern were suggested as the nonlinear parameter for detection of micro-scale cracks in a materials. A natural-like crack were produced in a standard compact tension(CT) specimen by a low cycle fatigue test and the resonance patterns were acquired in each fatigue step. As the exciting voltage increases, a down-shift of resonance frequency were increases as well as the normalized amplitude decrease. This nonlinear effects were significant and even greater in the cracked specimen, but not observed in a intact specimen.

In this study linear and nonlinear dynamic stability characteristics of a medium-size high-speed turbocharger, whose rotor is supported by two 3-lobe journal bearings, are analyzed to evaluate and identify the effects of its bearing design variables. The rotor has the rated speed of 40,500 rpm and maximum continuous speed of 45,000 rpm. At first, utilizing the linear stability analysis method, bearing designs of yielding stable or unstable LogDecs as small as possible are searched by manipulating with machined bearing clearances and preloads. As next, utilizing the nonlinear analysis method, limit cycles of the rotor responses at the rated and maximum continuous speeds are simulated to check their acceptances. Results have shown that for the turbocharger rotor-bearing system considered, the 3-lobe journal bearing design with a smaller machined clearance and a larger preload are preferred for the stable rotor responses. More importantly, since there exists a good correlation between the linear and nonlinear stability analysis results, it is concluded that firstly the linear stability analysis method may be applied to screen quickly the ranges of bearing designs for stable or least unstable solutions and then, lastly the nonlinear stability analysis method may be deployed to check an absolute motion stability in terms of the limit cycle.
