  • We need to reflect the establishment of meaning and level of 'proof and argumentation in middle school mathematics'. It should be considered as human activity through communication in community. Thus, we should design instruction from this standpoint. From this point of view, we had been operated 'Geometry Inquiry Class' aimed at middle school students in eighth grade for two years to improve current geometry class in middle school. In this study, we will observe how individual students' original proof schemes are developed and accepted to the class through the process of mutual negotiation between the teacher and students. The episode with four phases begins with the initial proof schemes students have offered. Through the negotiation of class participants, it gives birth to the proof scheme unique to the current geometry classroom. Why do we pay attention to the process? It is because we think that the value of this type of instruction lies in the process of communication and mutual understanding and mutual reference, not in the completeness of the final product. This is the very appropriate proof in the middle school mathematics classroom.

  • The Chinese classic 'The Great Learning' presents a guideline in which direction we should go for the character education and the realization of a just society. It conveys the message, 'Everyone must remain at the level of goodness for our community based on training our own mind and body.' Goodness is a generic concept that means universal truth in the right direction. This study aims to present the direction of communication education for how everyone should stay in goodness. Communication education about goodness could be conducted as follows. Based on the theory of interpersonal communication and persuasive communication, first the abstract concept of goodness is understood, brainstorming and schema activity for the good are performed for true communication, and then the teaching and learning method combining debate, flipped learning, and writing could be utilized. It is difficult to provide communication education with the message of goodness with students who have grown up on the basis of comparatively cramming education. However, through communication using discussion, a paradigm shift in education will take place, and it will not only help form human relationships, but also recognize the importance of the meaning of the community in the society in which we live, and ultimately it will help foster character.

Based on this, the draft was developed, and the draft went through several rounds of cross-review by the authors and the examination and revision by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, before the final edited version was developed. The workbook was finalized with corrections and enhancements based on the advice of 9 experts and 44 home economics teachers. The workbook consists of 4 areas: the 'food selection' area, with 10 learning topics and 36 lessons, the 'food poisoning and food management' area, with 10 learning topics and 36 lessons, the 'cooking' area, with 11 learning topics and 43 lessons, and the 'healthy eating' area, with 11 learning topics and 55 lessons, resulting in a total of 42 learning topics, 170 lessons. The workbook was designed to evenly cultivate practical problem-solving competency, self-reliance capacity, creative thinking capacity, and community capacity. In-depth inquiry-learning is conducted on the content, and the context is structured so that self-diagnosis can be made through evaluation. According to the validity test of the workbook, it was evaluated to be very appropriate for encouraging student-participatory classes and evaluations, and to create a class atmosphere that promotes inquiry by strengthening experiments and practices. In the current situation where the high school credit system is implemented and individual students' learning options are emphasized, the results of this study is expected to help expand the scope of home economics-based elective courses and contribute to realizing student-led classrooms with a focus on inquiry.

  • Entering the 21st century, the flow of society and culture is emerging as a cultural phenomenon in which one experiences, enjoys, and experiences on one's own. This trend has emerged as community dance, which has been active since 2010. Community dances can be targeted by anyone and can be divided into children's, adult and senior citizens' dances depending on the characteristics and age of the group, allowing them to work in various age groups. It also refers to all kinds of dances for the happiness and self-achievement of everyone who can promote gender, race and religion health or meet the needs of expression and improve their physical strength at meetings by age group, from preschoolers to senior citizens. Community dance is a dance activity in which everyone takes advantage of their leisure time and voluntarily participates in joyous activities, making it expandable to lifelong education and social learning. It is a voluntary community gathering conducted by experts for the general public. The definition of community dance can be said to be the aggregate of physical activities that enrich an individual's daily life and enhance their social sense to create a bright society, while individuals achieve the goals of health promotion and aesthetic education. In the contemporary community dance, the dance experience in body and creativity as self-expression reflects the happiness perspective by exploring the positive psychological experience and influence of the participants in the process of participation, and participants have continued networking through online offline to enjoy the dance culture. Although research has been conducted in various fields for 10 years since the boom in community dance began, the actual methodology of the program has been insufficient to present the Feldenkrais Method, hoping that it will be used as a methodology necessary for local community dance, and will be used as part of the educational effects and choreography creation methods of artists that can improve the physical functional aspects of dance and give a sense of psychological stability.

  • The paper describes a case study in which Sungkyunkwan University Library participated in the official ARL(Assoication of Research Libraries) LibQUAL+ evaluation program. LibQUAL+ model is based on the SERVQUAL service quality evaluation model originally developed in the marketing area. It details a number of processes including translation of the LibQUAL+ survey instrument into Korean, selection of study sample and choice of survey versions. In addition, it offers a number of strategies that can be adopted in order to analyze the survey data for various comparisons among different user groups and institutions. LibQUAL+ is more that a survey instrument; it a holistic system for assessing library service quality. Despite criticisms on LibQUAL+, we expect that university libraries in Korean will benefit from participating in the program. It is preferable that a group of libraries form a consortium to participate in the LibQUAL+ program as opposed to individual participation. The consortium can function as a learning community through various workshops and sharing activities, thus elevate the overall evaluation efforts in Korean libraries to a higher level.
