e-Portfolio is a useful tool that enhances students' learning competency. This paper introduces 'K-folio' which is an e-Portfolio system. K-folio is currently being implemented throughout campus. K-folio is designed to apply the theoretical framework for college level e-Portfolio. We chose RAD(Rapid Application Development) as our development method which we designed to gradually improve system's capability and usability by reflecting and implementing the suggestions of students and instructors. This paper has the following contributions: first, it proposes the e-Portfolio implementation model that is more applicable to the college environment. second, the study identifies RAD as the most suitable method for e-Portfolio development. third, it mentions important technical implications regarding the development and operation for their e-Portfolio.

We focused on the peer relationship of adolescent patients with schizophrenia, which usually occurs around puberty. Reviewing cases with schizophrenia and the literature extensively, we had come to the conclusion as follows；1) the most robust predictors among factors influencing the prognosis of schizophrenia are premorbid interpersonal relationship and adaptive functions. 2) Especially teachers’ reports about school life and peer relationship during school life are useful for predicting the occurrence of schizophrenia in adolescents. We described characteristic and behavioral childhood features which are important in pathogenesis of schizophrenia, based on high-risk studies and long term follow-up studies. Also, pathological profiles of the interpersonal relationship and pathology in adulthood were presented. We tried to integrate various aspects of interpersonal and social weaknesses of schizophrenics applying 'primary and secondary socialization' concept. Finally, five cases of adolescent schizophrenics were described briefly and proposal for the early detection and intervention for risk factors was introduced.

The purpose of this study is to discuss what the incorporation of humanistic imagination into mathematics means to mathematics education and to suggest implications for mathematics education in school mathematics. Traditionally, mathematics has been perceived to be far from our life problems because it targets logical and pure abstract thinking. According to international mathematics and science studies such as TIMSS and PISA, Korean students have relatively high mathematics achievement in the international research, but their attitude toward mathematics is very negative and their awareness of why they are learning mathematics and their satisfaction with life is low. In mathematics education, linking mathematics with humanities imagination allows students to view problems of human life from a humanities perspective, and to have an understanding of others and reflect on themselves from a new perspective. The researcher introduces several examples of whether mathematics and humanistic imagination can be combined for mathematics education. In this study, the ultimate reason for learning mathematics is to achieve learners to realize the principles of life or Dharma, and to live a happier life. However, in order to expand its rich meaning by making these new attempts in mathematics education, the researcher argued that tolerance and patience are needed for many challenges and difficulties in improving the quality of mathematics content itself including applying humanistic imagination to mathematics properly.

In school mathematics, activities to make particular convex polygons by attaching edgewise some pieces of tangram are introduced. This paper focus on deepening these activities. In this paper, by using Pick's Theorem and 和 草's method, all the convex polygons by attaching edgewise seven pieces of tangram, Sei Shonagon(淸少納言)'s tangram, and Pythagoras puzzle are found out respectively. By using Pick's Theorem to the square seven-piece puzzles satisfying conditions of the length of edge, it is showed that the number of convex polygons by attaching edgewise seven pieces of them can not exceed 20. And same result is obtained by generalizing 和 草's method. The number of convex polygons by attaching edgewise seven pieces of tangram, Sei Shonagon's tangram, and Pythagoras puzzle are 13, 16, and 12 respectively.

In this paper we compared waldorf education with korean public education in the area of teaching the numbers form 0 to 10. We took several characters of both. The korean education style has the characters like separation of 0~9 and 10, teaching of the meaning of ordinal numbers and cardinal numbers, use of storytelling. The waldorf education style has the characters like teaching of the qualitive meaning of numbers, use of storytelling, meeting numners in rhythm, teaching from whole to part.

Though teachers' lesson plays, this article analysed teachers' knowledge for mathematical teaching about mathematical definitions and their pedagogical difficulties in teaching defining. Although the participant teachers didn't transmit definitions to students and suggested possible definitions of the given geometric figure in their imaginary lessons, they didn't teach defining as deductive organization of properties of the geometric figure. They considered mathematical definition as a mere linguistic convention of a word, so they couldn't appreciate the necessity of deductive organization in teaching definitions, and the arbitrary nature of mathematical definitions. Therefore, for learning to teach definitions differently, it is necessary for teachers to reflect the gap between the everyday and mathematical definitions in teachers'education.

Within a context of rapid technological change and shifting market conditions, the education environment requires new paradigm of education delivery. In accordance of such a technological progress, distance education system, which makes the learning take place at anytime anywhere, overcoming barriers of time, or distance, is emerging as a mainstream of education delivery replacing the convectional one way delivery system from instructor to learners. This paper aims to introduce the development principle and algorithm about Instructional System Desgin(ISD) module, a part of a total solution for distance education services. It was developed on Linux, a free Unix-type operating system. Linux supports so various network protocols, sharing the network resources in a smooth way, that it is able to integrate with other operating system very easily, especially with Windows NT or Windows 2000 servers. In terms of quality, it never falls behind the windows products which are commercially available only. It is a right operating system for the such a school environment that is usually limited in budgets. The development environment of the distance education solution to which ISD module belongs is composing of Apache server for web server, lava bean based on components for ISD module, PHP, server-side scripting language, for HTML documents and MySQL for DBMS.

Recently, the status of public education has fallen and instead, the fever of private education has caused various social problem. Because of this private education, the polarization of education has become more serious. Under this circumstances, this study has focused on the effect of NIE (Newspaper in Education) which is expected to bring about some positive educational results. In foreign countries such as North America and European countries, NIE has already been introduced to schools. The educational effects of NIE has also been recognized. Korea also accepted NIE and expect positive educational effects. Therefore, the experimental study has been performed to prove the educational effect of NIE. Both for the middle school students and high school students, experimental group and control group were divided. After that, with the same study plan, experimental group studied with NIE method and control group studied with regular method. The results revealed that NIE method was effective to raise test scores. However, the subject interest and study attitude were not found to be related with the study methods. Implications were discussed.

We often use spellcheckers in order to correct the syntactic errors in our documents. However, these computer programs are not enough for elementary school students, because their sentences are not smooth even after correcting the syntactic errors in many cases. In this paper, we introduce an automated method for evaluating the smoothness of two synonymous sentences. This method uses a recurrent neural network to solve the problem of long-term dependencies and exploits subwords to cope with the rare word problem. We trained the recurrent neural network language model based on a monolingual corpus of about two million English sentences. In our experiments, the trained model successfully selected the more smooth sentences for all of nine types of test set. We expect that our approach will help in elementary school writing after being implemented as an application for smart devices.
