Middle School Students' Perceptions and Practice of Handwriting and Factors Affecting their Attitudes towards Handwriting (중학생의 필기에 대한 인식, 실태 및 필기태도에 영향을 미치는 요인들)

  • This study aimed to identify middle school students' perceptions and practices of handwriting, and factors affecting their attitudes towards handwriting. Data were collected by means of a survey targeting 346 students enrolled in 9 middle schools(Male=172, Female=172, Unknown=2, M=13.5 years old, SD= .94). Interviews, too, were conducted with 12 students in order to identify the students' perceptions of handwriting. The analyses of both survey and interview data revealed the following: (1) the majority of the interviewee students believed that handwriting is useful for memory and summarization so as to get a better school grade, including performance evaluations; (2) Many of the interviewee students were unsatisfied with their handwriting skills, giving higher scores to their peers' handwriting; (3) 45.7% of the students reported that mother was the one who taught them how to write for the first time; and 49.7% of them had no learning experience of taking notes; (4) Girls than boys and 1st graders than 2 or 3 graders showed more positive attitude towards handwriting; and (5) A multiple regression analysis showed that all the variables entered in the regression model, including sex, grade, affective attitude toward hands-on activities, physical abilities, time spent using a computer, and perceptions of Korean characters, had significant impacts on the students' attitudes towards handwriting.

  • 본 연구는 반도체 산업에서 반도체장비유지보수에 사용되어지는 반도체장비 유지보수 분야의 전문기술인력을 효과적으로 양성할 수 있는 반도체장비 유지보수의 자격종목을 개발하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 반도체장비 유지보수 분야의 국내외 실태 조사, 문헌조사를 통하여 반도체장비 유지보수 관련 교육훈련기관 및 검정 수요 예상 인력을 파악했으며, 유사자격제도(전자부품장착기능사, 전자부품장착산업기사, 생산자동화기능사, 생산자동화산업기사 등)를 분석하였고, 직무분석을 통하여 반도체장비유지보수기능사의 직무 및 교육내용을 분석하였다. 또한 반도체장비 유지보수 자격종목 신설에 대한 설문조사를 실시했으며, 반도체장비유지보수기능사 자격종목의 출제기준 및 채점 방법을 제시했고, 필기시험과 실기시험에 대한 모의 검정시험도 실시하였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 반도체장비유지보수기능사에 대한 교육프로그램을 만들었으며, 자격검정을 실시할 수 있는 출제기준을 제시하였다.

A Study on the Qualification Development of 3D Printing Operation Expert and 3D Printing Development Specialist (3D프린팅전문운용사 및 3D프린터개발산업기사 국가기술 자격종목 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to develop qualification criteria for training and establishing an expert pool of 3D printing operation experts and 3D printing development specialists in the emerging 3D printing industry. We investigate the domestic and international 3D printing industry, as well as 3D printing- related training institutions and quantity of test examinees. Utilizing competency analysis, this study examines the competencies and educational content of both 3D printing operation expert as well as 3D printing development specialists. In addition, a survey was conducted on the issue of institutionalization of qualification criteria for 3D printing operation expert and 3D printer development specialists. This study further proposes evaluation methods for qualification criteria for both 3D printing operation expert and 3D printer development specialists based on simulations of both written and performance tests. Based on the findings, this study proposes instructional program outlines as well as comprehensive guidelines for training and qualification processes for 3D printing operation expert and 3D printer development specialists.

  • The purpose of this study was to survey the actual state of engineering ethics curriculum in engineering college. This study was carried out through literature review and survey to accomplish the purpose. The subjects for the survey were 31 lecturer from 14 colleges that accrediated by ABEEK and prepare accrediatation. The results of this study were as follows. EAC(Ethics Across the Curriclum) was introduced in Engineering Ethics Education. There were a lot of students in a lecture and the plural lecturers were not appoined. In objectives of education, it was surveyed that focused in engineering situation above all theory of ethics and theoritical contents are entering into large part of engineering ethics education. The lecture method and paper-pencil assessment were used mainly in the lecture.

  • The duty of fire officials are very complicated and various that a subject replacement for the fire officials' public examination for service is being required. The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual conditions of the fire officials' public employment system and find out current problems of it, to reconsider the speciality of the examination based on them, and to suggest a subject replacement for the examination to evaluate the duty accomplishment ability. This study presents not only assuring the speciality of fire officials but also the desirable plans to execute the Fire Relating Act effectively by replacing introduction of political science with fire service administration and adding the Fire Relation Law which is more connected on the local fire officials public written examination for service with duty.

  • This research is aiming to develop Semiconductor equipment maintenance certification course to train qualified maintenance experts more effectively requested in related semiconductor industry. In the course of research, we adopted diverse research technique such as interview, on-spot investigation, documentary references to analyze current status of related training facilities, and forecast the population of test applicants. We analyzed similar certification course(Craftsman SMT, Industrial Engineer SMT, Craftsman Mechatronics, Industrial Enginee Mechatronics, et) as reference to set up job objectives and curriculum of semiconductor equipment maintenance certification. We conducted survey on expectations on newly created certificate, presented evaluation standard and objective of test, and preliminary writing test and demonstration test. Based on the result of various research, we were able to present training program for semiconductor equipment maintenance certification and set the assessment standard of qualification exam.

A Study on the Usefulness of NCS based Employment in Port Public Enterprise (항만공기업의 NCS 기반 채용 유용성에 관한 연구)

  • Being in the globally competitive environment, public port enterprises which accentuate on the employment of excellent talents to procure competitive advantage are introducing the NCS(National Competency Standards)-based employment system that focuses on job skills. This study mainly aims to analyze the actual status of NCS utilization among public port enterprises and its usefulness as well as performance. The appropriateness, efficiency, satisfaction, comprehensiveness and performance of the current NCS - based employment system were analyzed by using collected data from the recruiting officers and new employees as subjects. And eventually an improvement plan was suggested. The result of analysis shows that the appropriateness and satisfaction level of NCS - based employment system are generally high; while its effectiveness, applicants' recognition and acceptance level as well as performance are slightly higher. Moreover, the job capability and performance on the job of new employee selected by the NCS employment system were analyzed to be higher when the appropriateness and satisfaction level of that system is high. In order to establish NCS - based employment system, early formulation and implementation of job performance assessment system to evaluate the actual abilities and performance of job is necessary. This study suggested the NCS - based employment system is effective for public port enterprises to procure excellent talents, as well as being useful for job preparation of job seekers according to the job competencies requirement of the enterprises. Therefore, this study contributes to the proliferation of NCS - based recruitment system.

Recruitment and Selection of Police Officials in the United States -the System and it's Implications- (미국 경찰관 모집·선발제도의 특징 및 함의)

  • Recruitment and selection are separate but mutually reinforcing processes. The goal of recruitment is to attract the largest number of applicants possible to apply to the agency, and selection is the process of weeding out unqualified candidates and identifying qualified candidates. In this context, the recruitment and selection system of police officials is an important issue because it affects their future performance as police officers on the job, especially their policing skills, perception of society, occupational ethics. This study suggested the characteristics of U. S. recruitment and selection system of police officials. In the U. S, each police agency sets up its own recruitment and selection standards and procedures. However, recruitment and selection process follows a certain sequence : receiving application, psychological examination, background check, polygraph test, drug screening, interview, physical agility, and medical test. Special characteristic of American police system regarding recruitment and selection is that many law enforcement agencies use a polygraph test to ensure the integrity of the candidates. Another interesting screening process is a drug test because many Americans abuse illegal drugs. A candidate officer must submit urine or a hair sample for screening test. Police human resources specialists should continually identify the most innovative tests and approaches recruit and select police officers. Recruitment and selection strategies should increasingly attract and retain those officers who have the attributes to work in a community-oriented policing environment.

Isolation of Major foodborne Pathogenic Bacteria from Ready-to-Eat Seafoods and Its Reduction Strategy (해산물식품 중 식중독원인균의 오염패턴 및 저감화 방안)

  • The contamination frequency of major foodborne pathogenic bacteria was investigated from 213 seafood samples including sliced raw fish and shellfish in Busan and CyeongNam province area. Tested microorganisms were Salmonella spp. Staphyloroccus aureus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Escherichia coli O157:H7, Bncillus cereus, Listeria monocytogenes and Campylobacter jejuni. The frequency of isolated microorganisms was V. parahaemolyticus (30.5%), B. cereus (9.9%), S. aureus (3.8%) and other pathogenic bacteria (1.4%). from July to October, total isolation rates were greater than 50% and V. parahaemolyticus was dominant among the microorganisms isolated. The bacteria isolation rate (49.2%) in raw seafoods including shellfishes was higher than one (28.9%) in sliced raw fish. V. parahaemelyticus isolates were resistant to ampicillin (96.9%), amikacin (29.2%) and tetracycline (27.7%), and B. cereus isolates were resistant to ampicillin (100%), Penicillin G (100%), rifampicin (71.4%) and tetracycline (14.3%). The growth of V. parahaemolyticus and B. rereus was greatly inhibited below $10^{\circ}C$, but increased at ambient temperature. Washing seafood with tap water showed to reduce total count of remaining V. parahaemolyticus. Thus temperature control under $10^{\circ}C$, sufficient washing and prompt eating appeared to reduce the risk of food poisoning by these bacteria in seafoods.
