철도차량 대차를 피로균열 평가법 연구 (A Study on the Fatigue Crack Evaluation Method of Railway Bogie Frame)

  • 선형탄성파괴역학을 적용하여 균열이 발생한 변동하중하의 철도차량 대차틀에 대한 균열성장속도를 예측하였다. 이를 위하여 철도차량 대차틀의 균열발생사례를 분석하여 취약부위를 파악하였으며, 영업노선에서의 실동하중 측정과 구조해석을 통한 정하중 계산으로 대차틀 취약부에서 운행 중 받는 총 하중이력을 생성하였다. 총 하중이력에서 균열닫힘을 고려한 유효하중이력을 계산하였으며, 취약부 3곳에서 균열성장속도를 예측하고 일본에서 측정한 균열진전 사례와 비교하였다. 해석결과 초기길이 40mm의 균열이 급속한 균열성장을 일으키기까지는 약 50만km의 주행거리가 필요하며 이는 약 3.8년의 운행기간에 해당하므로 도시철도의 유지보수기간을 고려하면 임계균열로 도달하기 전에 충분히 감지할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 2상계 스테인리스강의 모재 및 용접부에 대하여 대기중의 피로시험과 인공해수중의 부식피로 시험을 모재부와 용접부의 .alpha.,.gamma.상의 상비율 변화에 따른 조직의 변화 및 용접잔유응력의 영향이 크랙전파에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 응력-스트레인의 히스테리스곡선에서 균열닫힘 거동을 실측하고 이들의 결과로 부터 유효응력확대계수와 균열전파속도와 관계를 정리하여 이들의 문제를 해석하였다.

  • The fatigue crack propagation behavior of the SA516-Grade 70 steel which is used for pressure vessels was experimentally examined under the condition of at room temperature, $150^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$ and $370^{\circ}C$ with stress ration of R=0.1 and 0.3. The fatigue crack propagation rate , da/dN, related with the stress intensity factor range, $\vartriangle$N, was influenced by the stress ration within the stable growth of fatigue crack(Region II) with an increase in $\vartriangle$N. The resistance to the fatigue crack growth at high temperature is higher in comparison with that at room temperature, and the resistance attributed to the extent of plasticity-induced by compressive residual stress according to the cyclic loads. Fractographic examinations revels that the differences of the fatigue crack growth characteristics between room and high temperatures are mainly explained by the crack and oxide-induced by high temperature.

자동차구조용 $SiC_p/Al-Si$복합재의 피로균열 진전특성에 대한 연구 (Fatigue Crack Growth Characteristics of $SiC_p/Al-Si$ Alloy Composites for Automotive Structures)

  • In order to investigate the behavior of fatigue crack growth of SiC-particulate- reinforced Al-Si alloy composites, fatigue tests using single edge notched tension(SENT) specimens were performed. Composite materials were manufactured by using both permanent die casting and extrusion processes with different volume fractions of $10\%\;and\;20\%$. $SiC_p-reinfurced$ Al-Si composites showed the increased levels of threshold stress intensity factor range, ${\Delta}K_{th}$, for the increased volume fractions of SiC particles, which implies the increased fatigue crack growth resistance at the threshold or low ${\Delta}K$ levels, compared to the unreinforced Al-Si alloy. In the Paris region, however, the composites showed the increased rate of crack growth resulting in the unfavorable effects on the fatigue crack growth resistance. Critical stress intensity factor range at unstable crack growth leading to final fracture decreased as the volume fraction of SiC particle increased, because of the reduced fracture toughness of the composites. Extruded materials showed higher threshold and critical values than the cast materials.

  • In this study, residual stresses of the weldment were calculated by finite element analysis(FEA) and experiment. And, the crack closure behaviour and fatigue crack growth characteristics in field of residual stress of A106 Gr B steel pipe weldment were investigated under various stress ratio. Obtained results are as follows. I) $K_{op}$ was independent of $K_{max}$, and load ratio in fatigue crack growth. 2) In variation of load ratio, the scatter band of crack growth curve was reduced by half considering crack closure. and 3) Neglecting crack closure behaviour, actual fatigue crack growth rate can be underestimated' and Actual fatigue crack growth rate can be overestimated by $K_{res}$, in tensile residual stress field.

용접(鎔接) 강부재(鋼部材)의 피로균열성장(疲勞龜裂成長)에 대한 잔류응력특성(殘留應力特性)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Experimental Investigation of the Residual Stress on Fatigue Crack Growth of Welded Steel Members)

  • 용접(鎔接) 강구조물(鋼構造物)의 피로균열성장거동(疲勞龜裂成長擧動)에 관(關)한 용접잔류응력(鎔擬殘留應力)의 거동(擧動)을 파악(把握)키 위하여 열처리(熱處理)를 실시(實施)하고 피로균열성장(疲勞龜裂成長) 및 검토(檢討)한 결과(結果) 용접부(鎔接部)는 경화(硬化)되어 늑성(勒性)이 감소(減少)되므로 소재부(素材部)보다 피로균열성장율(疲勞龜裂成長率)이 높았으며 이를 열처리(熱處理)한 결과(結果) 경도(硬度)나 저항력(抵抗力)이 증가(增加)되어 개선(改善)되었으며 $650^{\circ}C$ 정도(程度)에서 가장 이상적(理想的) 이었다. Elber 식(式)은 Paris-Erdogan 식(式)에 비(比)해 균열(龜裂)닫힘현상(現狀)을 고려(考廬)하므로 더 낮은 균열성장율(龜裂成長率)을 가지며 각(各) 열처리(熱處理)에 의한 곡선(曲線)들이 서로 비슷하므로 잔류응력(殘留應力)의 효과(効果)를 고려(考慮)할 수 없었다. 균열(龜裂)길이에 따른 개구하중(開口荷重)은 경도(硬度)가 높을수록 큰 값을 가지나 열처리(熱處理) 후(後)는 경도(硬度)값의 저하(低下)로 피로균열(疲勞龜裂) 성장율(成長率)이 낮아지며 흡수(吸收)에너지와 파괴늑성(破壞勒性)을 증대(增大)시켜 균열저지능력(龜裂沮止能力)을 가져 파괴(破壞)의 위험성(危險性)을 감소(減少)시킨다.

  • 본 연구에서는 표면균열의 전파거동에 관한 연구의 일환으로 경량화재료 로서 항공기 구조용으로 널리 사용되고 있는 7075-T651 알루미늄합금을 준비하고 제하탄성 compliance법을 이용하여 표면 및 깊이 방향의 균열진전거동의 특성을 밝히고져 한다.

  • The stress conditions acting on the practical structure are complex, and thus most cracks existing in the practical structures are under mixed-mode loading conditions. The effect of shear load component of mixed-mode loading acts more greatly in the stage of crack initiation and initial propagation than crack propagation stage. Hence, research on the behavior in the stage of crack initiation and initial propagation need to be examined in order to evaluate behavior of mixed-mode fatigue cracks. In this study, the crack tip displacement(CTD) was measured by using the direct measuring method(DMM). We examined the behavior at crack tip by determining crack opening load$(P_{op})$. From the test results, the propagation behavior of mixed-mode fatigue cracks was evaluated by considering mixed-mode crack closure. Also, we examined the characteristic of crack propagation under mixed-mode loading with crack propagation direction.

  • Methods for estimation of the effective stress intensity factor range (${\Delta}K_{eff}$) are evaluated for narrow and wide band random loading crack growth test data of 2024-T351 aluminum alloy. Three methods of determining $K_{op}$, visual measurement, ASTM offset compliance method, and the neural network method proposed by Kang and Song, and three methods of estimating ${\Delta}K_{eff}$, conventional, the 2/PI0 and 2/PI methods proposed by Donald and Paris, are compared in a quantitative manner by using the results of fatigue crack growth life prediction under random loading. For all $K_{op}$ determination methods discussed, the 2/PI0 and 2/PI methods of estimating ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ provide better results than conventional method for narrow and wide band random loading data.

SS330 용접재에서 재분포 압축잔류응력 및 균열닫힘의 영향을 고려한 피로거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fatigue Behavior considering Effects of Redistributing Compressive Residual Stress and Crack Closure in SS330 Weldment)

  • In this study effect of residual stress and its redistribution in weldment on the fatigue crack propagation was investigated. Fatigue tests were conducted by the center notched specimens machined with welded plate. The residual stress and its redistribution after the crack growth were measured by the magnetizing stress indicator and hole-drilling method. Fatigue crack propagation was estimated by the specimens having residual stress redistributed after the cracks growth and having the effects of crack closure. Crack growth rates were predicted and compared with experimental results. It had been found that the predicted crack propagation rates have a good agreement with experimental results when the redistribution of residual stress was considered.
