A Study on the Formation of Hydrate Plugging due to water molecules in High Pressure and Low Temperature Gas Pipeline (고압$\cdot$저온 가스 배관에서 수분에 의한 하이드레이트 플러깅 형성)

  • Hydrates are solid cryctallines resembling ice in appearance, which are consist of a gas molecule surrounded by a cage of water molecules. Because of containning a large amount of methane, hydrates have been considered as a future energy resource. However, the formation of hydrates in the oil and gas industries has been known as a serious problem for a long time. The formation of hydrate in pipeline is common in seasonally cold or sub-sea environments with low temperatures and high pressures. Especially, hydrate plug formation becomes a real menace to flow assurance in inadequately protected transmission lines. This study was carried out for the purpose of understanding mechanism of hydrate plugging and examining formation conditions of hydrate in high pressure gas pipeline. In this study, we measured hydrate equilibrium conditions under the various flowing conditions with the methane. The results were presented both the plugging tendency and the effect of flowing velocity.

Analysis of Bearing Capacity Improvement Effect of Inner Cone Penetration Equiped Open-Ended Steel Pipe Pile (개단 강관말뚝 내부 콘항타에 의한 지지력 증대효과 분석)

  • This study analyzes behavior of bearing capacity of open-ended pipe pile from laboratory experiment results. Unlike the conventional pipe piles, cone penetration is implemented into the inside of the pipe pile. During the cone penetration, cone driving energy helps densification of plugged soils and soils below the pile end. Sand pluviator was used to obtain homogeneous soil layers. Two kinds of piles with different pile outer surface roughness were prepared, and two different drop heights of pile driving were applied. Eight experimental cases varying pile outer surface roughness, pile driving energy for conventional and cone penetration implemented piles were conducted. From the experiments, ultimate load of the pile increased approximately by 70% for increased pile driving height, and it increased by 21% for rougher surface pile. When cone penetration is implemented, the ultimate load increased by 40% in average.

  • In this paper, the numerical simulation of the method of characteristics for a two-stroke SI engine was carried out, and the scavenging efficiency and the performance of single engine with two types of exhaust system, that is, a pipe exhaust system and a tuned exhaust system, were predicted and compared. The conculusions are obtained as follows. (1) The method of characteristics of hometropic flow considering the friction and the variation of area is useful to predict the scavenging efficiency and the performance of the two-stroke engine. (2) The shape of exhaust system effects directly on the scavenging and the trapping efficiency. (3) A tuned exhaust system consisted of the diffuser and the convergent nozzle makes the plugging pulse and therefore enhances the scavenging and the trapping efficiency. (4) It may be possible to design the optimum exhaust system by using the plugging pulse.

  • 본 논문에서는 벡터제어에 근거한 선형 유도 전동기의 추진제어 알고리즘에 대해 보여준다. 기존의 사용해왔던 스칼라제어 방식이 아닌 새로운 전류제어 방식을 사용하며, 기존의 13.5Hz 슬립주파수 일정 제어를 가변하여 플러깅 저감 구간을 축소하고 회생구간을 늘림으로써 운전효율 향상 패턴을 찾는 연구를 진행하였다. 본 논문에서는 시뮬레이션을 통해 산출된 최적운전 패턴결과를 반영하여 실험을 통해 이 방법을 제안 하고자 한다.

A Study on the Flow Assurance in Subsea Pipeline Considering System Availability of Topside in LNG-FPSO (LNG-FPSO에서 상부구조물의 시스템 가용도를 고려한 해저 배관의 유동안정성 연구)

  • This study presents flow assurance analysis in subsea pipeline considering system availability of topside in LNG-FPSO. A hydrate management strategy was established, which consisted of PVCap experiments, system availability analysis of LNG-FPSO topside, hydrate risk analysis in the pipeline, and calculation of PVCap injection concentration. The experimental data required for the determination of PVCap injection concentration were obtained by measuring the hydrate induction time of PVCap at the subcooling temperatures of 6.1, 9.2, and 12.1℃. The availability of LNG-FPSO topside system for 20 years was 89.3%, and the longest downtime of 50 hours occurred 2.9 times per year. The subsea pipeline model for multiphase flow simulation was created using field geometry data. As a result of risk analysis of hydrate plugging using subsea pipeline model, hydrate was formed at the end of flowline in 23.2 hours under the condition of 50 hours shutdown. The injection concentration of PVCap was determined based on the PVCap experiment results. The hydrate plugging in subsea pipeline of LNG-FPSO can be completely prevented by injecting PVCap 0.25 wt% 2.9 times per year.

  • 전자기 접촉기(electromagnetic contactor)는 교류 또는 직류 저압의 전로(電路)에 사용되는 부하개폐기의 한 종류로 전자석 코일(electromagnet coil)의 여자(勵磁)에 의하여 주 접촉자를 개폐시키는 기기이다. 일반적으로 전자기 접촉기는 단락전류를 차단하도록 설계되어 있지는 않다. 그러므로 설치 시 적절한 단락 보호가 이루어져야 하며, 반드시 접촉기의 일부분일 필요는 없다. 차단기와 퓨즈 등을 단락보호장치(SCPD, Short-Circuit Protective Device)로 많이 사용한다. 전자기 접촉기는 특히 고빈도 개폐를 목적으로 사용되는 개폐기로, 농형모터(squirrel-cage motors)의 시동, 운전 중의 정지, 플러깅(plugging, 모터가 운전하고 있는 중에 모터의 1차측 접속을 역으로 바꿔서 모터를 급격히 정지시키거나 역 회전시키는 것) 및 인칭(inching, 모터를 짧은 기간 동안 1회 또는 반복 여자해서 피동기구를 조금 이동시키는 것)에 많이 쓰인다. 이러한 기기의 개폐특성을 평가하기 위한 부하는 과도회복 전압의 진동 주파수(oscillatory frequency)와 진폭율 ${\gamma}$를 얻을 수 있도록 조정되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 고빈도 개폐능력을 갖고 있는 전자기 접촉기의 과도회복 전압 특성과 그 특성을 얻기 위한 부하 회로의 조정방법에 대해 고찰하였다.

백상지 공정수가 백상지 물성에 미치는 영향

  • 용수 다소비 산업인 제지산업은 날로 심해지는 환경규제에 대처하기 위해 청수사용 량을 줄이고 백수의 재활용을 극대화하며, 궁극적으로는 폐수를 배출시키지 않는 무방류화 공정의 실현을 위해 많은 연구와 노력을 경주하고 있다. 제지공정의 폐쇄화가 성공적으로 이루어지기 위해서는 폐수의 처리를 통한 수질 개선 및 처리수의 재활용을 제고하는 방안을 채용할 수 있으나, 제지공정의 막대한 용수 사용량을 생각할 때 방출되는 공정수를 이와 같 은 방법으로 완전히 정화, 재사용한다는 것은 경제적으로 비현실적이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 공정수의 정화 및 정화된 처리수의 재활용율 제고를 통하여 제지공정의 무방류화를 실현하 더라도 공정수의 수질 악화는 필연적으로 발생하게 되며 따라서 이에 대한 다각적인 대처 가 요청된다. 제지공정의 무방류화에 따른 수질의 악화는 용수 내 미세분 및 이온성 물질의 누적 을 통해 이루어지며, 이로 인해 펠트 플러깅, 첨가제의 성능저하, 슬라임 및 악취 발생, 제품 의 품질저하 등 여러 가지 문제들이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 백상지 공정의 폐쇄화를 실험실적으로 재현하여 용수 내 미세분 및 각종 이온성 물질의 누적이 종이의 불성에 미치는 영향을 평가하고자 하였다. 백상지 공정 수 내에는 도공파지의 유입과 다량의 충전제 사용에 의하여 상당량의 회분성분이 미세분으 로 포함되어 있다. 이에 백상지 공정의 폐쇄화 단계에 따라 용수 내 누적되는 회분의 특성 변화를 파악하고, 이것이 종이 물성에 대한 영향을 살펴보았다. 또 백수의 재활용에 따른 각 종 이온성 물질의 누적이 종이의 물성에 미치는 영향도 평가하였다. 이러한 이온성 물질의 대상은 칼습 경도 및 전기전도도에 영향하는 무기 이온성 물질과 COD 및 BOD에 영향하는 유기 이온성 물질로 구분하여 평가하였다. 이후 계내에 존재하는 각 이온성 물질의 농도 증 가에 따라 종이를 제조하여 물성의 변화를 파악하였다.

  • The IEEE 1394 protocol is a de facto standard in multimedia digital home network. It supports several advanced features such as hot plugging, dynamic network reconfiguration, isochronous transmission and so on. Since the IEEE 1394 was adapted in the field of multimedia service with QoS guarantee, back bone network protocol with reel-time digital instrumentation and control sub networks, and physical layer protocol for real-time middleware such as real-time CORBA, the additional real-time features has been required in device driver implementation because of the necessity of the predictability enhancement. To guarantee the real-time features, the device driver of the IEEE 1394 should support the priority based packet processing and also need a isochronous buffer management mechanism to deal with the periodic isochronous communication. In this paper, we proposed a new software architecture of the IEEE 1394 device driver for supporting the real-time characteristics such as priority based packet processing, priority based scheduling and so on.

  • Ball joint is a rotating and swiveling element that is typically the interface between two parts. In an automobile, the ball joint is the component that connects the control arms to the steering knuckles by playing a role of bearing. The ball joint can also be installed in linkage systems for motion control applications. This paper describes the simulation strategy for a ball joint analysis, considering manufacturing process. Its manufacturing process can be divided into plugging and spinning. Then, the interested response is selected as the stress distribution generated between its ball and bearing. In this paper, a commercial code of NX DAFUL 2.0 using an implicit integration method is introduced to calculate the response. In addition, the gap analysis is performed to investigate the fitness. Also, the optimum design is suggested through case studies.

Investigation of Plume Opacity Induced by the Combustion of Orimulsion (오리멀젼 연소로 인한 가시백연의 원인 규명)

  • Orimulsion, a bitumen-in-water emulsified fuel, has been used throughout the world as a substitute fuel for heavy oil and coal. Orimulsion has relatively high levels of sulfur, nickel, and vanadium, compared to other fuel oils and coals, and has been the subject of much debate regarding the environmental impacts. In Korea, Y power plant has operated boilers with Orimulsion as a fuel, and they has some drawbacks during the plant operation, such as plume opacity. In this study, we investigated the cause of formation mechanism and factors for the plume opacity by investigating the operation data, and measuring the particle size distribution at EP(Electrostatic Precipitator), FGD(Fuel Gas Desulfurization) and TMS(Telecommunications Management System) units. Resulting data showed the primary particles below 1 ${\mu}m$ formed were regrown by the recombination of $SO_3$ in wet-limestone FGD process, and thus the secondary particles are induced to cause the plume opacity.
