The acid catalytic reactions of toluene with n-propylalcohol were investigated and the adsorption experiments of dialkylbenzene isomers were carried out at 100$^{\circ}C$ over modified HZSM-5 zeolites. ZSM-5 zeolite was synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction using 4-propylammonium ion, sodium aluminate and colloidal silica etc., and several zeolite catalysts, including H-, K-, Sr-, P-Mg-HZSM-5, H-Y and H-mordenite, were prepared by conventional methods. The main reaction products of toluene with n-propylalcohol over HZSM-5 catalyst include not only xylenes, propyltoluenes, but also ethyltoluenes and high para-selectivity among dialkylbenzene isomers was observed on P-Mg-HZSM-5 zeolite. The diffusion coefficients of various p-dialkylbenzenes are nearly the same, about 1 ${times}$ 10$^{-10}$ cm$^2$/sec and that of m-xylene was about one tenth of o-xylene. These reaction and adsorption characteristics were interpreted in the light of the shape-selectivity related to related to the zeolite pore structure and the zeolitic acidity.

Gelatinization behaviours and gel properties of hydroxypropylated corn starches (HPCS) were investigated with differential scanning calorimeter, amylograph and rheometer. Gelatinization temperature of HPCS decreased as degree of substitution increased. The retrogradation of corn starch was greatly reduced by hydroxypropylation, indicating that the association of starch molecules was sterically hindered by hydroxypropyl groups. In HPCS, gel was formed slowly and gel strength decreased resulting in soft and sticky texture. Texture profiles of HPCS gels were similar to those of tapioca and waxy corn starch. HPCS has shown a remarkable increase of paste transparency compared to native corn starch.

The paper describes a method of user feedback in order to enhance the retrieval effectiveness. In this paper, to overcome a weak point of the existing feedback function adapting fuzzy technique, we proposed the interaction function using gaussian function that gives different learning rate according to choice of components with same function. And, we grade degree that the user opinion is reflected to a system by applying user profile to the feedback function. User retrieval feedback method is adaptive retrieval method that makes a slow change for a long time using feedback function adapting gaussian function and user profile.

게 껍질로부터 얻은 키틴을 탈아세틸화하여 키토산을 얻었으며, 얻어진 키토산의 유기용매에 대한 용해성을 향상시키기 위해 알칼리 조건에서 고압반응ㅇ기를 사용하여 프로필렌옥사이드와 반응시켜 치환율 3.5의 히드록시프로필 키토산을 합성하였다. 합성된 히드록시프로필 키토산은 고체상 CP/MAS 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR, FT-IR을 통해 반응이 키토산의 6번 탄소의 수산기와 2번 탄소의 아민기에 주로 일어났음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 X-선 회절분석을 통해 키토산의 결정성이 프로필렌옥사이드와의 반응에 의해 크게 감소하였음을 알 수 있었고, 그 결과 유기 용매에 대한 용해성이 현저히 증가되는 현상을 나타내었다. 한편, 히드록시프로필 키토산을 수상에 녹인 후 W/O 에멀젼상에 서 알칼리 촉매를 사용항 에피클로로히드린과 가교반응을 실시한 결과 내부가 비어있는 중공 마이크로비드를 얻을 수 있었다. 전자현미경을 통한 분석결과 중공 마이크로비드의 껍질의 내부에는 스킨층이 형성되어 있었으며, 외부 표면은 다공성이 높은 비대칭 막으로 되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

소프트 핸드오프는 공간 다이버서티 때문에 끊김없는 통화를 보장할 수는 있지만, 하나의 단말이 두개 이상의 셀에서 자원을 사용하므로 자원의 낭비를 초래하게 된다. 따라서 CDMA에서 소프트 핸드오프 방법을 이용할 때는 성능면에서 통화의 품질과 망 자원사이에 평형을 유지해야 한다. IS-95에서 명시된 소프트 핸드오프 진행 절차에 단말의 프로필 파라미터를 활용하는 새로운 소프트 핸드오프 알고리즘을 제시하고 이를 시뮬레이션을 통하여 성능을 분석한다. 단말이 호를 유지한 상태에서 셀의 경계점을 계속 왕복한다면 잦은 핸드오프가 발생하게 되고 활성 집합에는 항시 여러 기지국이 연결상태에서 또 다시 핸드오프를 요구할 확률은 지수적으로 감소한다. 또한, 단말이 호를 유지한 상태에서 핸드오프가 이루어진 경력을 안다면 활성 집합에 포함될 기지국의 수를 제한할 수 있으므로 자원의 낭비를 막을 수 있다. 이와 같이 단말의 프로필을 이용한 경우에 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안한 알고리즘이 IS-95보다 호의 블록킹 확률이 감소함을 보인다.

The Mugeuk mineralized area that associated with the pull-apart type Cretaceous Eumseong basin is composed of several gold-silver vein deposits that are emplaced in late Cretaceous biotite granite. The gold-silver deposits in the area show various hydrothermal alteration zones as well as Au/Ag ratios and ore mineralogy. The Geumbong mine showing relatively high gold fineness is composed of multiple veins and show alteration pattern; vein \longrightarrow phyllic \longrightarrow subphyllic \longrightarrow propylitic \longrightarrow subpropylitic zone. In contrast, The Taegeuk mines show the low fineness values, in far southern part are characterized by increasing tendency of simple and/or stockwork veins. The deposit displays alteration pattern; vein \longrightarrow propylitic \longrightarrow subpropylitic zone. Variations of alteration zone with depth show that phyllic zone are dominant in deeper level and propylitic zone sporadically overlapped by argillic zone are dominant in shallow level. The differences of alteration pattern between the gold-silver deposits are reflect the evolution of the hydrothermal fluids; the ore-forming fluids of the Geumbong mine are at relatively high temperature and salinity and highly-evolved meteoric water, developing phyllic zone, the Taegeuk mine containing greater amounts of less-evolved meteoric waters shows relatively low temperature and salinity in ore-forming fluids, developing propylitic zone. The various physicochemical environment for gold-silver mineralization in the Mugeuk mineralized area is due to proximity from heat source area (Mugeuk mine) to marginal area (Taegeuk mine) in a geothermal field. Therefore, it is suggested that the criteria for project exploration in the area are to focus on the area proximal to heat source and phyllic zone.

Physicochemical properties of hydroxypropylated rice starches were investigated. Swelling power of hydroxypropylated rice starch increased at relatively lower temperature than native rice starch. Solubility of hydroxypropylated rice starch was lower (1.9-13.4%) than that of native rice starch (2.2-13.8%), and increased with increasing amount of propylene oxide. Pasting temperature ($66.2-70.8^{\circ}C$) and peak viscosity (2,843-3,395cp) of hydroxypropylated rice starch were lower than those of native starch ($71.6^{\circ}C,\;3,976\;cp$) and decreased with increasing amount of propylene oxide, regardless of reaction time. DSC thermal transitions of hydroxypropylated rice starches shifted toward lower temperature. Amylopectin-melting enthalpy of hydroxypropylated rice starch decreased (11.8-9.8J/g) with increasing amount of propylene oxide and was lower than that of native starch (11.9 J/g). These results indicate hydroxypropylation lowered swelling power and gelatinization temperatures of rice starch, because internal bonds of rice starch molecules were sterically weaken by substituted hydroxypropyl groups.

한 친구가 여자 2명을 만나기로 했으니 '너도 나오라'구 긴급호출이 왔다. 만남장소인 서울대공원으로 가보니 앳된 여대생 2명이 나와 있었다. 사유인 즉, 당시 친구가 남녀 만남을 주선하는 만남정보센터에 등록을 했다고 한다. 이곳에서는 남자회원들의 프로필을 자판기를 통해 불특정 다수가 뽑아볼 수 있도록 했다. 프로필이 마음에 들면 만남정보센터로 연학해 만남을 주선해 달라면 된다. 그렇게 해서 한 여대생이 친구의 연락처를 받아 연락을 했고 '혼자 나가기 멋쩍으니 2명씩 만나자'해서 자리가 마련이 된 것이다. 그때 그 여대생들과 즐거운 데이트를 즐겼던 기억이 아련하다

단일모드 광섬유에서 박막도파로로 효율적인 광신호의 전송은 집적광학에서 해결해야 할 중요한 문제이다. 본 연구에서는 필드 프로필의 불일치를 피하고, 높은 광 결합 효율을 갖을 수 있는 광섬유-박마도파로 결합구조를 제안하였다. 광섬유와 박막 도파로의 경계에서의 필드프로필의 커다란 불일치는 박막도파로의 위에 의도적으로 성장시킨 결합도파로를 이용하여 효율적으로 피할 수 있었다.
