Recently, as most functional business activities in an enterprise are supported by computerized information systems, data duplication and inconsistency among functional information systems become serious problems. It brings people to have many interests on data quality management. This paper presents a case study in which a company had improved their data quality by enhancing their data quality management processes. Though the case study, we describe main issues and risk factors in the process of data quality improvement projects as well as solutions to resolve the issues, which can be referred by other companies who pursue data quality improvement. Also, the improvement effects are evaluated by multidimensional perspectives which include quantitative and qualitative measures on data quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, organization, and culture.

This research is a byproduct of a project initiated by a major airport in Korea. The airport aimed to enhance airside safety and weighed a few IT options that may strengthen its current safety practices. In order to satisfy requirements unique to the airport and to inherit existing legacy systems, a PCS-based mobile database system was proposed. We first discuss technical aspects of the system as well as design issues in mobile systems before we compare two specific alternatives for transactional service handoff. A simulation study comparing two types of coordination follows before we present a scheme that manages transaction processing and locating service in mobile environments. Finally, we discuss the limitations of the scheme from the perspectives of the airport in question along with other research issues.

Market in the 21st century innovative products is not the same as marketing traditional products and services. Whether for survival or to sustain market leadership, Design Marketing Strategy is the key in the new era of world competition. Design Strategies are also more critical issues in the future, because most business and firms depend on successful design project. In order to effectively bring creative professional output to market, design leaders who can use design intelligence to shape the future of their organizations and business must evidence marketing strategy technology, creative and managerial skill. Design Management links design and related business activities into a creative and coordinated strategy for creating value and sustainable advantage for the firm. Design education has focused primarily in the training of professional designers within their specific disciplines. But it dose not provide training in the management skills necessary to effectively lead a design project team. Most design colleges do not provide any integrated education in leadership and team building, strategy, finance, marketing or project management. This is the time that Design Management Program should be prepared to provide design students who want to manage design project in creative industry. The program has to be prepared to provide all the business skills and information that design students need to know in an upper-level undergraduate school. The Program's goal is to graduate design leaders able to strategically manage a design project for the challenge of managing in the 21st century.

Better utilization of the knowledge of employees in any organization has long been accepted as a vital component of a corporation's competitiveness. This has been considered even more important in the construction industry due to the dynamic and intermittent nature of construction projects. With the rapid advance of network technologies during the last decade, construction companies quickly shifted their focus of knowledge management to interactive online repositories. However, the efforts of leveraging organizational knowledge has remained fragmented in the construction industry until recent years. In addition, companies have begun to realize that actual returns on this investment in network technologies would be far less than initial expectations if online efforts do not incorporate companies' general offline knowledge management efforts, which are done without the use of computer network. Thus, this paper focused on assessment of implementing current Lessons-Learned Systems at the large construction companies in Korea to provide the foundation for developing a renovated conceptual Lessons-Learned System model.

청정개발체제(CDM)는 1997년 교토의정서(Kyoto protocol)를 통해 확립된 온실가스 배출과 관련된 선진국과 개도국 간 협력 기제의 하나이다. 청정개발체제는 기본적으로 선진국의 정부 또는 민간조직이 개도국에서 배출감축 프로젝트를 수행하고, CER(Certified Emission Reduction)의 형태로 배출권을 얻는 것을 허용하고, CER을 자국의 배출감축목표 달성을 위해 사용할 수 있도록 하고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 아세안 국가들의 청정개발 메커니즘의 성취도를 알아보는데 있으며, 자료는 2010년 10월 15일 현재 유엔기후변화기본협약(UNFCCC)에 등록된 254개 청정개발체제 사업을 대상으로 분석하였다. 이 연구의 결과, 전체 254개 사업 중 20%만이 탄소배출권을 받은 것으로 나타났으며, 실제 탄소배출권의 총량은 650만 톤이지만, 이는 전체 사업계획서에 반영된 양의 15%에 불과한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 아세안 국가의 CDM사업과 관련된 장애 요인으로서는 (1) 사업 등록과 탄소배출권 승인 간 시간 격차가 존재하고, (2) 사업계획과 실제 승인량에 차이가 나타나며, (3) 특히 소규모 사업의 경우 높은 거래 비용 때문에 등록 후 배출승인을 신청하지 않고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 이러한 연구결과는 아세안국가들이 CDM사업을 수행하는 데 있어서 선진국들의 주요 파트너가 되고 있지만, 실제로 사업을 통한 탄소배출량은 제한적일 수 있음을 의미한다. 따라서 일부 아세안 국가에서 교토의정서에 따라 자체적으로 탄소배출감축을 시도하고 있음을 고려할 때, 자체적인 CDM의 성공적인 경영, 수행, 운영을 위해 더 많은 선진국들의 협력과 지원이 주어질 필요가 있다.

Nowadays, '1+N' is the operation model of compound bookstores. This study firstly investigated the general information and needs of customers and analyzed 4 basic behaviors of customers in 10 functional space of bookstore. Secondly, a preliminary analysis framework of interior design of compound bookstore was established, by applying 3 research tools of service design to 3 design elements of interior design. Thirdly, the case was analyzed in the preliminary analysis framework to find out the detailed process of the interaction between the customer and the bookstore, the touchpoint and the interior design project, to find out the blind spots in design, and put forward the solutions. Finally, after being refined, a compound bookstore interior design model based on the concept of service design was established. This model can be used to test the design content and service quality of the interior functional area of the compound bookstore, and to find out the design blank points.

The concept of data warehousing was born in the 1970-80s at the same time when Wal-Mart's growing database gave birth to its need to view records in a more effective way. As the world's largest retail warehouse, Wal-Mart represents the world's largest data warehouse. A large portion of the discussionaround Wal-Mart's database management heretofore has only been process-centric, however, not its data per se. The study largely involves technical concepts around database and takes a deep look at Wal-Mart's chronicle of pre-implementation (preparation), implementation, and post-implementation (evaluation) of the data warehousing project. The highlight underlies how Wal-Mart acted against solving endless problems and was able to gear their data management to business contribution. By revisiting their data warehousing project case from a current point of view, we expect their lessons to be still available and applicable. With the renewed interest in (big) data and business intelligence, Wal-Mart's high respect for data and technology holds a lot more meaning than a couple of decades ago.

The purpose of the study is to identify risk factors and analyze risk impacts to increase R&D outcome by taking into consideration the activities undertaken in each phase of New Product Development(NPD) process. The paper builds on survey research that has been developed new IT products within the past 5 years at SAMSUNG and LG subsidiaries in the Republic of Korea. This study identified risk factors in accordance with NPD process and evaluated the identified risk factors with survey questionnaires. To analyze the risk impacts were used to perform a logistic regression analysis based on R&D output. The impact of risk factors were higher for the low-output group. High-output group took a risk into consideration unique undertakings in project management and managed risk factors effectively in order to increase R&D output. Consequently, with the aim of improving output of R&D, a risk management is necessary to identify the risk factors for each phase of NPD and focus on managing risk factors with great effect.

IMF위기 이후 여러 가지로 어려움에 처해 있는 경제를 회복하기 위한 돌파구로서 외국기업과 자본의 유치의 중요성이 더해지고 있다. 특히 대규모 기업의 구조조정과 기업들의 투자마인드 위축으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 지방경제를 활성화하기 위한 수단으로서의 투자유치는 먼저, 외국자본의 직접투자를 통하여 단기간에 산업기반을 강화할 수 있고, 제조업의 해외이전에 따른 산업공동화를 방지할 수 있다. 또한 당면한 과제인 고실업을 해소하기 위해서도 필요하다. 정부는 '98, 9. 17. 외국인투자유치촉진법을 제정, 공포하고, 시행령을 마련하여, 국세와 지방세의 감면혜택은 물론 분양가와 조성원가와 차액보조금, 고용보조금, 직업훈련비등의 인센티브를 보완한다. 경상남도의 외국인투자유치전략으로는 경남의 입지적 경쟁우위를 확보할 수 있는 업종을 선정하여 중점유치활동을 전개하고 있다. 이를 위한 구체적 방안으로는 첫째, 투자유치과를 신설하고 전문직공무원을 채용하였고, 민간전문가를 기업으로부터 파견받아 기존 공무원이 담당하기 힘든 부분을 담담토록 하고 있고, 둘째, 진사지방산업단지를 외국인투자지역으로 지정하고 하였다. 셋째, 외국인투자기업에 대한 여러 가지 인센티브를 위하여 경상남도 기업 및 투자 유치조례(안)을 입안중이다. 넷째, 투자유치 타켓기업을 선정하여 집중유치활동을 전개하고 있으며, 다섯째, 경남도내에 이미 투자한 기업에 대한 사후관리를 철저히 하여 경영상의 애로사항 해결에 만전을 다 할 것이다. 지방자치제의 실시로 지방자치단체간의 경쟁이 가열되고 있으나 투자유치활동에 있어서 동서의 협력방안을 모색해 보았으며, 공동투자프로젝트 개발, 공동투자유치설명회 개최, 투자 유치기법의 상호 벤치마킹 등이 필요하다. 결론적으로 외국인 투자촉진법 등 법령의 정비와 외국인 투자유치의 중요성에 대한 인식이 확산되어 외국인 투자유치의 환경이 획기적으로 개선될 것으로 기대된다. 지방자치단체에서도 투자를 기다리던 관행에 탈피하여 입체적인 투자유치노력을 전개해야 할 것이다.

Along with the recent economic downturn, domestic construction companies have also faced with many difficulties and obstacles. To overcome this situations, now they are trying to continuous efforts to improve efficiency and productivity of project performance through many means including the reduction of fixed cost expenditures. Level of work performance of construction field managers is very important factor of productivity improvement for successive performance of construction project. This study attempts to analyse level and influence factors for work performance of field managers in construction companies through analysis of work burden and level of work performance. Also this study attempts to present basic data of the improvement directions for enhancing construction efficiency and productivity in future.
