Need of Accreditation System for Engineering Technology Programs in Junior College and Case of the Main Foreign Countries (전문대학 공학기술교육 프로그램 인증제 도입의 필요성과 주요 외국의 운영 사례)

  • The accreditation system for engineering technology programs has not been carried out in this country. For need of accreditation for engineering technology programs and development of evaluation criteria, we need analyses of accreditation procedures, rules and evaluation criteria. So we researched accreditation system and evaluation criteria with countries. These are signatories to the Sydney Accord under which approved engineering technology programs. Accreditation procedures and evaluation criteria are characteristic of the each countries which carried out accreditation system. We have to introduce accreditation system and develop evaluation criteria in our manner for advancing our engineering technology education of community college.

  • As the importance of information security grows, the demand of professionals in information security field is continuing to increase. In developing as information security professionals, however, there are practical problems to be solved in advance. This study defines the body of essential knowledge(EBK) for information security professional development; on the other hand, this study suggests a education program as a multidisciplinary major based on the EBK.

  • 본 논문은 전자책 제작 Sigil 환경과 C 프로그램 환경을 이용하여 전자책 ePub과 서버, 클라이언트 통신을 통해 인증정보를 사용한 전자책의 저작권 보호 시스템을 설계한다. 서버와 클라이언트 통신을 통해 전자책의 인증정보를 이용하여 사용 권한 유무를 판별한다. 나날이 불법적인 방법으로 전자책을 구입하는 경우 저작권의 보호를 받지 못해 큰 피해를 입는 사람들이 많다. 본 논문은 전자책 ePub의 인증정보를 이용한 저작권 보호 프로그램을 개발하여 전자책의 인증정보가 조건에 만족한다면 전자책을 열람하고, 조건에 만족하지 않는다면 프로그램을 종료함으로서 악의적인 사용자가 전자책의 접근을 할 수 없도록 한다.

An Efficient Authentication Scheme for Downloading and Updating Applications in Smart Cards (스마트 카드 응용 프로그램의 다운로드와 갱신에 대한 효율적인 인증 기법)

  • In this paper we propose a method for authenticating the application that is to be downloaded or updated in smart cards. Previous works have some drawbacks such as having a long verification delay or requiring a large amount of primary/secondary storage. We propose an efficient parameterized scheme by using the hash chain technique where the secondary storage requirement and verification delay of updating the application are O(k) and O(k+n/k), respectively. Moreover, both the first storage requirement and verification delay of downloading the application are O(1).

  • The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has been implementing the government's recognition project regarding the program accrediting organizations in Higher Education. This research is to establish an evaluation model for the government's recognition process of the program accrediting organizations, and develop the evaluation categories, items and indices for the model. The research has set the concept for the government's recognition regarding the program accrediting organizations and designed an evaluation model for such organizations. The evaluation model embraces a preliminary evaluation process, assessing an eligibility of the accrediting organizations for the higher education based on the formalities set forth for the government recognition organization accrediting process. It also includes the main evaluation process, which assess the eligibility based on the evaluation standards stipulated in the associated legislation and regulations. In addition, through in-depth verification processes by experts, this research finalized 2 evaluation domains, 5 evaluation categories, 24 evaluation items and 33 evaluation indices.

A Study on Genetic Counseling Curriculum, Accreditation of the Training Program, and the Certification Process of Genetic Counselors in Korea (유전상담 교육프로그램 개발과 전문유전상담사 학회인증제도에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was undertaken to provide the framework for development of a genetic counseling training program, and an accreditation and certification process suitable for non-M.D. genetic counselors in Korea. Materials and Methods: Global standards of genetic counseling curriculums, training program accreditation (TPA), and the certification process for genetic counselors (CPGC) in the U.S.A and Japan were reviewed, and a questionnaire survey was performed to elicit opinions among health-care providers including physicians, nurses, technicians, researchers, and educators. In addition, input from professional communities, including the Korean Society of Medical Genetics (KSMG) and Institute for Genetic Testing Evaluation, was sought in formulating the framework of this study. Results: Comparison of U.S.A. and Japan educational systems showed similarities in curriculum, accreditation, and certification programs. Analysis of 117 respondents opinions showed a high level of agreement in the area of global standards; 88% indicated that KSMG should be in charge of TPA and CPGC, while 77% favored a certification exam composed of both written exam and interview components. Conclusion: Based upon this study we propose that the KSMG should be in charge of providing the TPA and CPGC for non-MD genetic counselors. Requirements for the entrance to a Master's degree genetic counseling program should be open to successful four year undergraduate students in all areas, provided the candidates demonstrate the abilities to master the graduate level of study in human genetics, clinical genetics, statistics, psychology, and other required subjects. Eligibility for certification should include qualified candidates of genetic counseling with no formally approved education, but a sufficient amount of clinical experience, in addition to accredited program graduates. Certification examinations should be carried out every two years and the certification should be good for five years, as is the case in Japan.

  • Phishing is an attack to theft an user's identity by masquerading the user or the device. The number of phishing victims are sharply increased due to wide spread use of smart phones and messenger programs. Smart phones can operate various wi-fi based apps besides typical voice call and SMS functions. Generally, the messenger program such as Kakao Talk or Nate On is consisted of client and server functions. Thus, the authentication between the client and the server is essential to communicate securely. In this paper, we propose the messenger authentication protocol safe against smart phone phishing. To protect communications among clients, the proposed method provides message encryption and authentication functions.
