  • A distributed multimedia school system is developed for the multimedia classroom at high school and university. The system is designed and implemented for students to improve the learning efficiency through the personalized multimedia contents and pace of learning. The previously developed multimedia information retrieval systems have some limitations on being applied to the multimedia classroom: expensive cost per stream or poor retrieval quality inappropriate for education, unscalability of system and service, unfamiliar proprietary client environment, and difficulty for teachers to use the authoring tools and manage the authored teaching materials. The system we developed overcomes the above problems. It is so scalable as to be applicable not only to a segmented classroom but also to the world wide Internet. The stream server is one of the components of the system: stream servers clients, a service gateway system, and a authoring management system. This paper describes the design and implementation of the stream server. A single stream server can simultaneously playback the multimedia streams as many as clients at one classroom. This is achieved only by the software engine without any changes of the hardware architecture. The systematic coupling with other components gives the scalability of the system and the flexibility of services.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microbiological quality, and to assure the hygienic safety of the food production in the university food service facility located in Seoul in accordance with the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point(HACCP) concepts. In the hygienic state assessment of kitchen, it has revealed that it was very important to remove water from the kitchen floor and to establish standard method for disinfection of cooking utensils. And foodservice workers were required to have training program for the safe handling of food and utensils since they did treat food without hygienic gloves. The kitchen layout had to be improved because the near distance of table with heating unit and shelf might cause the growth of microorganisms when prepared food was kept on the shelf. In terms of the timetemperature measurement and microbiological quality assessment during each of the food production phases, most of sengchae (raw vegetable dish) and namul (cooked vegetable dish) were treated within danger zone for food safeness ($5~60^{\circ}C$). It has shown that the microbiological quality of raw materials was very much inferior at the time of receiving based on the TPC($10^{5}~10^{7}$), coliform($10^{3}~1O^{6}$), which was not acceptable level(TPC:$10^{6}$, coliform:$10^{3}$) suggested by Solberg. Microbiological growth has increased in the both of sengchae and namul considerably during most of food production phase. Therefore, it is extremely important to reduce holding and serving time and to avoid treating food within the danger zone for food safeness. In addition, the prevention of cross-contamination during mixing the ingredients with improper equipments and with insanitary treatments by workers was also important to keep the food safety in this speciqic university foodservice facility.

The work areas of medical technologists are classified into clinical pathologic technology, pathologic technology, clinical genetics technology, nuclear medicine in vitro technology, and clinical physiologic technology. New titles of Korean specialized medical technologists refer to certification systems, such as CLMJ, CMAJ, ASCP, IAC, ABRET, and ARMDS. Currently, there are eight types of specialized medical technologists under the cooperation of specialized academic societies. They are hematology, transfusionology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology, histology, cytology, nuclear medicine. • This study suggests the necessity and domestic application plan a national authority database that promotes an integrated access, richer search, and understanding of historical information sources and archival resources distributed among cultural heritage institutions through the "Social Networks and Archive Context" project case. As the SNAC project was transformed into an international cooperative organization led by NARA, it was possible to secure a sustainable operating system and realize cooperative authority control. In addition, SNAC authority records have the characteristics of providing richer contextual information about life and history and social and intellectual network information compared to libraries. Through case analysis, First, like SNAC, a cooperative body led by the National Archives and having joint ownership of the National Library of Korea should lead the development and expand the scope of participating institutions. Second, in the cooperative method, take a structure in which divisions are made for each field with special strengths, but the main decision-making is made through the administrative team in which the two organizations participate. Third, development of scalable open source software that can collect technical information in various formats when constructing authority data, designing with the structure and elements of archival authority records, designing functions to control the quality of authority records, and building user-friendly interfaces and the need for a platform design reflecting content elements.

  • This study was to investigate the unsuitable rate of the storage facilities, the changes in corrosion process over time after installation according to the status, the time to install the facilities, years elapsed after facilities installation, inspection of methods and motivation, and so on, based on the results of the inspection at the petroleum storage facilities conducted by domestic soil-relate specialized agency to derive optimal management plans which meet the status of soil contamination facilities. The results showed that the facilities more than 5 years after the initial leak test at the time of the installation need to be inspected periodically by considering costs of leak test and remediation of polluted soil. The inspection period can be decided by cost and leak test methods showing discrepancies for the results obtained from individual test whether it was direct or indirect. To compensate these matters, we suggested that the direct inspection method on regular schedule is recommended. On the other hand, the inspection can be voluntarily completed to ease burden of the results by inspection or equivalent level to this inspection method. Also, it may need improved construction supervision and performance test system to minimize the occurrence of the nature defects in installing the facilities as well as the upgrade program for the facilities during intervals of inspection period.
