A Study on the Water Quality Variation Characteristics of Nakdong River Considering the Meteorological Effects (기상학적 영향을 고려한 낙동강 유역 수질변동특성 연구)

  • 최근 낙동강유역에서는 여름철 폭염 및 가뭄의 영향으로 조류대경보가 발령되고 있으며, 급격한 수질환경적 변화가 이루어지고 있다. 녹조중의 하나인 남조류가 만들어내는 마이크로시스틴은 직접 섭취하면 간 괴사까지 일으키는 독성물질로 알려져 있으며, 최근 4대강 녹조 발생 지역에 살고있는 어패류의 체내에 마이크로시스틴이 축적돼 이를 섭취하기만 해도 이차 독성이 나타나는 것으로 확인되었다. 특히 낙동강은 가뭄과 같은 기상학적 영향에 따른 수질환경적 변동특성이 뚜렷하여 수생태에 미치는 피해우려가 크며, 녹조발생에 취약한 유역이라 할 수 있다. 이는 기후변화에 따른 강우의 강도 및 편중으로 영양물질 유출의 증가와 표층 온도 상승과 함께 밀도류에 의해 성층이 심화되면서 표층에서의 극심한 녹조 발생이 이루어지는 것으로 설명할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 연구대상지점으로 낙동강유역을 선정하여 물환경 빅데이터 구축을 통해 상세 유역현황을 파악하고 데이터마이닝 기법을 이용하여 녹조발생에 따른 수질환경적 변동특성 및 영향인자를 분석하고자 한다. 또한 가뭄에 따른 수질환경적 취약지역에 대한 선제적 관리방안을 도출하기 위해 지점별 취약성 평가방안을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on the Application of Paper Fly Ash as Stabilization/Hardening Agent (지반개량재로서 제지회의 활용에 관한 연구)

  • Examined a practical use possibility of paper fly ash that is industrial by-product as a stabilization/hardening agent. Performed unconfined compression test, scanning electron microscopy and pH analysis etc. for 100% paper fly ash-soil mixtures and each paper fly ash-soil mixtures that add cement as the second addition and sulfate component of small quantity for strength promotion and so on. In all cases, strength of admixtures increased according as curing time and mixing ratio increases but almost strength is revealed at mixing early and expressed maximum strength increase efficiency at mixing ratio 9% with raw soil. Compare with the case that use paper fly ash only, in case of cement amount 10~30% was included in paper fly ash, strength of admixtures increases two times and 40% was included, that increases from five to eight times.

Estimating Unsaturated Shear Strength and Yield Load of Compacted Aggregate Sub-base Materials (다져진 보조기층 재료의 불포화 전단강도 및 항복하중 평가)

  • In general, conventional road pavements are designed under the assumption that the shear strength of geomaterials are under saturated state. In reality, however, most of the pavement geomaterials exists under the unsaturated state. To deal with this gap between saturated and unsaturated conditions, in this paper, unsaturated shear strength was estimated using the results from the triaxial compression test and soil-water characteristics curves. Then, yield loads were assessed using 2-Dimensional finite element method with the selected nonlinear elastic model and the Mohr-Coulomb yield criteria. In addition, various unsaturated condition and surface layer effects on the yield load of granular materials were identified. Therefore, the results demonstrated would provide a possibility to estimate bearing capacity of paved or unpaved roads using unsaturated soil mechanics.

  • Our country's leading granite weathered soil of the ground slope failures that occur in cutting slope most cases, it does not require in-depth to the shear strength most of the surface layer is affected by weathering (1~2 m) at a shallow depth close to the ground, it is important to identify the reliability. Based on the result obtained in actual field investigation, the field slope type was classified by each type of wedge slope, Infinite slope, finite slope -I and finite slope -II, and the slope stability was examined respectively. In addition, using the numerical analysis results, the relationship between the slope inclination angle and safety factor was analyzed and it tried to offer basic data to which the stability in the field slope was able to be estimated by analyzing the safety factor change of the slope according to the slope type. In this study, classified into four types of natural slope, safety factor estimation method by slope types is proposed through the numerical analysis. However, some limit exists in generalizing in this research because it does not test various case studies. Therefore, the case study of a wide range of various sypes to assess the safety of various types slope can be made, accommodate a wide range of field conditions reasonable risk evaluation criteria may be derived.

  • The changing patterns of water temperature and turbidity in streams entering Imha Reservoir were studied. The turbidity variation near the intake tower in Imha Reservoir was investigated in relation with the variation of water temperature and turbidity in streams. Water temperature was estimated using multi-regression method with air temperature and dew point as independent variables. Peak turbidity was also estimated using non-linear regression method with rainfall intensity as an independent variable. Although more independent variables representing watershed characteristics seem to be needed to increase estimation accuracies, the methodology used in this study can be applied to estimate water temperature and peak turbidity in other streams.

Utilizability of Waste Concrete Powder as a Material for Soil Pavement (흙도로포장용 재료로서 폐콘크리트 미분말의 활용성 연구)

  • This study is conducted to utilize waste concrete powder (WCP) made as a by-product manufacturing high quality recycled aggregate. The blaine fineness of the used waste concrete powder was $928cm^2/g$. As the main characteristic of waste concrete powder, it showed an angular type similar to cement, but hydrated products were attached on the surface of particles. In addition, the size of the particles of waste concrete powder was larger than OPC and in terms of chemical components it had higher $SiO_2$ contents. For using WCP in soil cement-based pavement, the qualities, physical and chemical properties, of WCP should be researched. In the first step, the specified compressive strength of mortar for two types of clay sand soil and clay soil respectively was experimented to be 15 MPa and then optimum mixing ratio of chemical solidification agent were decided in the range of 1.5 - 3.0% in the replacement with cement weight content. In the second step, based on the prior experimental results, recycling possibility of WCP in soil cement-based pavement was studied. In the result of experiment the mixing ratio of WCP were 5, 10, 15 and 20% in the replacement with soil weight and the compressive strength of mortar was somewhat decreased according to the increase of the mixing ratio of WCP.

Measurements of Monostatic Bottom Backscattering Strengths in Shallow Water of the Yellow Sea (서해 천해환경에서 단상태 해저면 후방산란강도 측정)

  • Measurements of bottom backscattering strengths in a frequency range of 6-14 kHz were made on the shallow water off the southern Gyeonggi Bay in Yellow Sea in May 2013, as part of the KIOST-HYU joint acoustics experiment. Geological surveys for the experimental area were performed using multi-beam echo sounder, sparker system, and grab sampling to investigate the bottom topography, sub-bottom profile and composition of surficial sediment, respectively. In this paper, the backscattering strengths as a function of grazing angle (in range of $28^{\circ}{\sim}69^{\circ}$) were estimated and compared to the predictions obtained by Lambert's law and APL-UW scattering model. Finally, the effects of geoacoustic parameters corresponding to the experimental area on the backscattering strengths are discussed.

재생아스팔트 포장의 구조설계 기술

  • 포장구조체에서 요구되는 강도를 갖게 하는 구조 설계의 방법은 경험적 절차부터 반역학적 절차까지 발전되어 왔다. 재생 가열아스팔트혼합물이 기존의 가열아스팔트혼합물(HMA)과 비교하여 비슷하거나 때에 따라 더 좋은 성능을 가져오므로, AASHTO설계지침서에서는 본질적으로 재생(recycled) HMA 재료와 신생(virgin) HMA 재료간의 차이가 없다고 기술하고 있으며, 기존 HMA 재료에 사용되는 덧씌우기설계법의 구조회복 분석방법(structural rehabilitation analysis method)을 재생포장설계에도 권장하고 있다. 재생 가열아스팔트의 설계를 위한 AASHTO 방법은 설계교통량, 교통량 및 수행능력예측의 신뢰수준, 공용기간, 그리고 포장상태 평가지수에 의하여 결정된 포장구조체에서 요구되는 포장두께지수(SN)에 기초한다. 포장두께지수(SN)는 포장층 두께, 상대강도계수, 각 층의 배수조건들의 곱의 조합으로서 나타내어질 수 있다. 덧씌우기로 간주될 수 있는 재생된 층의 포장두께지수(SN)는 기존 포장에서의 포장두께지수와 보강된 포장에서 요구되는 포장두께지수의 차이에 의하여 계산되어질 수 있다. 상대강도계수의 값은 AASHTO 설계지침에 명시되어 있다. AI 방법은 교통량, 노상의 회복탄성계수, 그리고 설계두께를 계산하기 위한 표층과 기층의 종류를 사용한다. 이 방법은 재생된 가열혼합물질과 기존의 가열혼합물질과는 거의 비슷한 성능을 나타낸다고 본다. 또다른 AI 방법에 의하면 재생된 층은 덧씌우기층이라고 간주하고, 현재의 포장두께와 요구되어지는 포장두께 사이의 차를 이용하여 재생될 층의 두께를 산정한다. 소요되는 덧씌우기 두께는 포장의 현장 상태지수(condition rating)와 각 종류에 따른 포장체와 포장재료가 아스팔트 콘크리트층의 등가두께로 전환되어 나타나는 방법에 근거하여 결정될 수 있다. 또 다른 방법은 포장체 각 층의 물성과 하중을 이용한 컴퓨터 프로그램에 의하여 산정된 하중-변형 응답에 의한 설계 방법을 포함한다. 이런 방법들에서는 포장체는 탄성이나 점탄성층 위에서 탄성이나 점탄성 거동을 보인다고 가정한다. 재생 상온혼합물에서의 AASHTO 설계 방법은 가열혼합물의 설계방법과 유사하다. 그러나, 재생 상온혼합물에서의 상대강도계수는 시공방법에 좌우되므로, 기술자의 판단을 근거로 하여 결정되어져야 한다. AI방법에서는 포장구조체를 다층탄성구조라고 보고, 노상의 강도와 설계 교통량을 근거로 요구되는 포장두께를 결정한다. 재생 상온혼합물 기층의 두께는 재생 상온혼합물 기충 위에서 가열아스팔혼합물에 대하여 산정된 덧씌우기 두께를 이용하여 결정할 수 있다. 아스팔트 표면의 재생은 기존 포장의 구조적 능력을 정상적으로 개선할 수 없으므로, 표면 재생의 두께를 설계하는 방법은 없다. 그러나, 임의의 덧씌우기 두께는 기존의 덧씌우기 설계법에 기초하여 산정 할 수 있다. 만약 덧씌우기가 승차감만을 개선시킨다고 여겨진다면, 혼합물에서 사용되어지는 최대 골재 크기에 기초한 최소 두께를 결정할 수 있다.

Fireproof Performance of Mortar using Gypsum in Simplified Heating Test (간이 내화시험에 의한 석고계 모르타르의 내화성능)

  • Spalling must be considered when designing high-strength concrete to cope with fire. This study investigates the temperature rise of steel bar in high-strength concrete coated with fireproof mortar using gypsum exposed to fire. It was found that fireproof mortar using gypsum is more effective in constraining the temperature rise of steel bar in the high strength concrete than fireproof mortar using cement, and that the thinner the cover depth of the fireproof mortar, the more significant the influence of the gypsum. In addition, while there was no difference between ${\alpha}$-hemihydrate mortar and ${\beta}$-hemihydrate mortar on the temperature rise of steel bar, the compressive strength of ${\alpha}$-hemihydrate mortar is higher than that of ${\beta}$-hemihydrate mortar.

Elastic Modulus and Layer Coefficient of Permeable Block Pavements Based on Plate Load Tests (평판재하시험을 통한 투수 블록포장의 탄성계수 및 상대강도계수 산정)

  • Permeable block pavement systems are widely used to relieve the flood and enhance water circulation. However, domestic design method has not yet been established well. Although AASHTO 93 flexible pavement design method is applied as a structural design method outside the country, there is a lack of information on layer coefficient of the permeable pavement materials, which makes it difficult to apply the design to various materials. Therefore, in this study, a method of calculating the layer coefficient of permeable block pavement materials by plate load test was presented and the layer coefficient of a permeable block pavement in a testbed was evaluated. Overall, calculated layer coefficient of open graded aggregate and permeable block pavement surface layer were similar to those of the conventional values. The presented method may be used to evaluate layer coefficients of permeable block pavements for design.
