Investigating Applicability of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle to the Tidal Flat Zone (조간대 갯벌에서 무인항공기 활용 가능성에 관한 연구 - 수치표고모델을 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, we generated orthoimages and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to confirm the accuracy of possibility of geospatial information system generation, then compared the DEM with the topographic height values measured from Real Time Kinematic-GPS (RTK-GPS). The DEMs were generated from aerial triangulation method using fixed-wing UAV and rotary-wing UAV, and DEM based on the waterline method also generated. For the accurate generation of mosaic images and DEM, the distorted images occurred by interior and exterior orientation were corrected using camera calibration. In addition, we set up the 30 Ground Control Points (GPCs) in order to correct of the UAVs position error. Therefore, the mosaic images and DEM were obtained with geometric error less than 30 cm. The height of generated DEMs by UAVs were compared with the levelled elevation by RTK-GPS. The value of R-square is closely 1. From this study, we could confirm that accurate DEM of the tidal flat can be generated using UAVs and these detailed spatial information about tidal flat will be widely used for tidal flat management.

Multimodal Emotional State Estimation Model for Implementation of Intelligent Exhibition Services (지능형 전시 서비스 구현을 위한 멀티모달 감정 상태 추정 모형)

  • Both researchers and practitioners are showing an increased interested in interactive exhibition services. Interactive exhibition services are designed to directly respond to visitor responses in real time, so as to fully engage visitors' interest and enhance their satisfaction. In order to install an effective interactive exhibition service, it is essential to adopt intelligent technologies that enable accurate estimation of a visitor's emotional state from responses to exhibited stimulus. Studies undertaken so far have attempted to estimate the human emotional state, most of them doing so by gauging either facial expressions or audio responses. However, the most recent research suggests that, a multimodal approach that uses people's multiple responses simultaneously may lead to better estimation. Given this context, we propose a new multimodal emotional state estimation model that uses various responses including facial expressions, gestures, and movements measured by the Microsoft Kinect Sensor. In order to effectively handle a large amount of sensory data, we propose to use stratified sampling-based MRA (multiple regression analysis) as our estimation method. To validate the usefulness of the proposed model, we collected 602,599 responses and emotional state data with 274 variables from 15 people. When we applied our model to the data set, we found that our model estimated the levels of valence and arousal in the 10~15% error range. Since our proposed model is simple and stable, we expect that it will be applied not only in intelligent exhibition services, but also in other areas such as e-learning and personalized advertising.

  • They use emoticons as assistance to express their emotion on CMC communications. Emoticons have been developed into diverse forms like text emoticon, image emoticon, animation emoticon. However emoticons represent the emotion only in simple way, not in specific because the shortage of grouping expressions of the emotion. So, the emoticons used nowadays should be grouped specifically in order to help produce the modulated animation emoticons those are able to represent the feeling in specific and diverse way and be used conveniently. Therefore, this thesis is going to propose the design method of a new kind of animation emoticons those can make what animation emoticons used nowadays are not able to through the grouping and analyzing expression images according to faces, gesture(hand), and backgrounds(decoration) focused on the animation emoticons in messenger programs.

  • 감성 연구의 생리, 심리, 동작 분석 등의 과정에서 발생하는 문서, 데이터, 화상, 그림, 그래픽 등의 자료 공유에 인터넷을 적용하는 것은 매우 유망하다, 본 연구에서는 현재의 인터넷 (또는 인트라넷) 환경을 고려하여 Ultra 2 DB 서버, Sun Solaris (UNIX) OS, UniSql DBMS, Apache Web 서버로 시스템을 구축하였다. 이 시스템을 이용하여 웹기반 감성데이터 베이스 시제품을 구축하여 각종 감성자료를 보급하는 체계를 1차 완료하였으며, 도메인(www.gamsung.or.kr)을 등록하여 서비스를 실시하고 있다. 이 시스템에는 1단계 감성공학기술개발 사업의 35개 연구보고서, 1단계 연구결과로서 생산한 262개 감성지표, 2단계(전반기) 연구사업의 78개 감성지표, 일본의 인간감각계측 및 응용기술개발 중심으로 생산하나 100개 감성지표, 음성데이터, 인체측정데이터, 얼굴표정데이터와 설문데이터 등의 감성데이터와 감성공학 연구자 인력, 국내제조업체 정보, 참고문헌, 감성 정보물 등을 DB화하여 인터넷을 통하여 조회, 검색할 수 있도록 하였다. 뿐만 아니라 현재 진행되고 있는 감성공학기술개발에 대한 각종 정보를 제공하고 있으며 감성공학의 기술 동향에 대해서도 소개하고 있다. 이는 한국인의 감성 연구에 적합한 감성공학 데이터 베이스 시스템 구축의 발판을 마련하였으며, 향후 소비자의 감성을 예측하고, 이를 시스템 설계에 반영할 수 있으므로 인간중심의 제품개발에 큰 기여를 할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 3D character animation uses the various entertainment factors such as movie, advertisement, game and cyber idol and occupies an important position in video industry. Although character animation makes various productions and real expressions possible, it is difficult to make character like human body without anatomical understanding of human body. Human body anatomy is the basic knowledge which analyzes physical structure anatomically, gives a lot of helps to make character modeling and make physical movement and facial expression delicately when character animation is produced. Therefore this study examines structure and proportion of human body and focuses on character modeling and animation production based on anatomical understanding of human body.

  • In this study a stereo digital camera system was developed. Using this system, we can collect informations such as coordinates, lengths of all objects shown in the photo image just by taking digital photograph in field. This system has the advantage of obtaining stereo images with settled exterior orientation parameters, while the accuracy slightly worsen because in a close range photogrammetry with stereo digital camera system, the base line distance is restricted within about 1m. We took images with various exposure distances and angles to objects for experimental error assessment, and analyzed the affection of image coordinates errors.

  • The main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of compounded welding by using acoustic emission (AE) signals and doing a source location for weld heat affected zone (HAZ) through tensile testing. This study was carried out an SWS 490A high strength steel for electric shield metal arc welding, SMAW; $CO_2$ gas metal arc welding, GMAW($CO_2$); and gas tungsten arc welding, GTAW/TIG. Data displays are based on the measured parameters of the AE signals, along with environmental variables such as time and load. For instance, Gutenberg-Richter magnitude-frequency relationship (G-R MFR) offers useful b-value in data analysis. Namely event identification, source location gives the X- and Y-coordinates of the AE source. And K-means clustering analysis by Euclidean distance confirmed that was powerful to source location. Generally, strength of welded metal zone was stronger than strength of base metal. As the result, confirmed certainly that fracture is produced in HAZ instead of welded metal zone from source location.

  • 얼굴 동작을 효과적으로 인식하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 얼굴 동작은 얼굴 표정, 얼굴 자세, 시선, 주름 같은 얼굴 특징이나 얼굴 행동 등으로 표출될 수 있다. 이러한 표출된 정보들은 얼굴 동작이 다양하고 명확하지 않아 연구 진행에 많은 어려움이 있다. 그러므로, 본 논문에서는 얼굴 동작을 묘사하는 FACS를 기반으로 하여 시각적 관찰에 의해 주요한 얼굴 동작을 표현하고, 베이지안 네트워크를 통하여 여러 정보를 분석 융합하여 얼굴 행동을 추론 할 수 있도록 하였다. 베이지안 네트워크의 하향식 추론으로 시각 정보를 선택 할 수 있고, 관측된 현상을 토대로 상향식 추론 하여 얼굴 동작의 신뢰 전파를 통하여 분류 인식한다.

Eyebrow Detection Algorithm Using the Histogram Analysis (히스토그램 분석을 이용한 눈썹 검출 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, I proposed a eyebrow detection algorithm in human face, that is important element in facial recognition. The proposed algorithm consists of four processes: face region detection using color region segmentation. eye detection by template matching, eyebrow candidate region detection in detected eye region, and eyebrow detection by thresholding using the modified histogram that gets luminance value in the candidate region. The test results show that the proposed algorithm can detect eyebrow region very effectively in facial image.

  • For competitiveness of national B2C (Business to Customer) service industry, improvement of process and analysis focused on customer and change of service system are needed. In other words, a business and an organization should deduce and provide what kind of services customers want. Then, evaluate customers' satisfaction and improve the service quality. To achieve this goal, accurate feedbacks from customers play an important role; however, there are not quantitative and standard systems a lot in nation. Recently, the researches about ICT (Information and Communication Technology) that can recognize emotion of human being are on the increase. The facial expression recognition among them is known as most efficient and natural human interface. This research analyzes about more efficient facial expression recognition and suggests a customer satisfaction feedback system using that.
