  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between partner violence and depression in the elderly. This secondary analysis study used the data from 2015 Korean Welfare Panel Study. A total of 2,819 older adults who completed the survey about demographic characteristics, health-related characteristics, satisfaction in the relationship with children, satisfaction in social relationship, partner violence, and depression. Data were analyzed with SPSS 23.0 by using descriptive analyses, independent t-tests, $x^2$-tests, bivariate logistic regressions, and hierarchical logistic regressions. In the results of hierarchical logistic regressions, after controlled demographic and health related characteristics, satisfaction in the relationship with children, and satisfaction in social relationship, partner violence was significantly associated with depression in both male and female older people. In conclusion, it is important to make a prevention program to reduce partner violence and depression for not only female but also male older adults.

  • The purposes of the present study were to investigate the effects of individual, family, and school factors on the onset of adolescents' violence behaviors. For these goals, we applied discrete-time survival analysis to the Korean Youth Panel Survey. According to the estimated hazard function, the likelihood of onset of adolescents' violence behavior was low during elementary school years and increasing sharply from middle school years. Results showed that gender, self-esteem, aggressiveness, broken home, parental abuse, and the number of delinquent friends were significant determinants of the onset of adolescents' violence behaviors. Findings from this study suggest the need to focus on the significant determinants and consider various prevention programs.

  • This study investigated the effects of individual characteristics, school factors, and community factors on adolescent school violence behaviors. Data from a total of 1,777 middle school students from 50 schools in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions were used for analysis. A hierarchical generalized linear modeling was employed to conduct a two-level analysis. Results showed that adolescents' individual factors, including attitudes toward violence, parental attachment, child abuse experiences, and affiliation with delinquent peers, as well as school factors including teacher's abusive classroom discipline, affected adolescent school violence behaviors. In addition, neighborhood disorder was found to be significantly positively correlated with adolescents' school violence. The results of this study suggest that for an understanding of school violence and to prepare countermeasures accordingly, integrated consideration of various environmental contexts in adolescents' daily lives, such as family, school, and community environments, is necessary. A multidimensional, integrated intervention plan to effectively resolve school violence based on these research results is discussed.

In order to find out whether there is an effect, we used the nonparametric statistic as a quantitative study to verify the difference of self-esteem. In qualitative research, I used the dynamic familyization, sentence completion test, program report, feedback journal, and observation log from researcher and assistant therapist so as to get the deep understanding of their inner world. This study conducted a trauma test for 49 children in grades 4-6 from one elementary school in a city of Jeollabukdo Province. As a result, there was a significant increase in total self-esteem including their social life. family life, and school life after the program was implemented. Also, integrated art therapy promoted general perception and specific perception of self, which affected total self - esteem, social self - esteem, family self - esteem, and school self-esteem.
