Fracture Probability Properties of Pure and Cantilever Bending Fatigue of STS304 Steel (STS304강의 순수 및 외팔보형 굽힘 피로에 대한 파괴확률 특성)

  • Big accidents of flyings, vessel, subways, gas equipments, buildings and bridge happens frenquently. Therefore many people are suffering harm of property. The destruction cause of macaine components is almost accused by fatigue. This study is test for STS304 specimen using pure and cantilever bending state. Rounded specimen and notched specimen including fracture surface investigation was comparatively experimented, fatigue life according to degree of surface finishing was examined. Fatigue fracture probability of notched canilever specimens were predicted by P-S-N curve, median rank and Weibull distribution. And at the relation with the rotational speed and stress, the fatigue life of the test specimen was higher at high speed than low speed.

  • We have developed the multi-functioned friction measuring instrument for the previous research. In here, we improved the performance of friction measuring instrument by applying the adaptive smoothing method and analyzed the friction of plate and monitoring function of friction surface through scratch tests. We substituted lubricant steel plate to lubricant oil used for reducing the friction when fabricating steel plate because lubricant oil was regarded as one of the major causes for the environmental pollution. In particular, the functions of various plate such as galvannealed steel sheets were analyzed because friction coefficient could be changed depending on the type of organic/inorganic plate or state of coating layer. Therefore, we demonstrated that adaptive smoothing method could enhance the accuracy of measuring instrument which eliminate the noise. As a result of using the method, it showed the reduction rate 0.0417% for the friction coefficient 0.16.

Effect of the strain rate on friction factor and flow stress at Al 6061 alloy (Al 6061 합금에서 마찰인자 및 상온 유동응력에 미치는 변형율 속도 영향)

  • 특정한 마찰 또는 윤활조건 하에서 변형율 속도가 마찰인자에 미치는 영향을 관찰하기 위하여, 약 1$\times$$10^{-3}$/sec, 1$\times$$10^{-2}$/sec, 1$\times$$10^{-1}$/sec에 해당되는 3종류의 변형율 속도에서 평활금형, 흑연계윤활제 및 2황화 몰리브덴계 윤활제에 대한 마찰인자를 상온에서 각각 측정하였다. 측정방법으로서는 외경, 내경 및 높이 비가 6 : 3 : 2인 Al 6061 연주재 ring시편을 공칭변형율 65%까지 약 10% 씩 단속적으로 압축한 후 재윤활 하여주는 단속적 상온 압축시험 방법을 적용하였다. 측정결과, 변형율 속도가 증가함에 따라 윤활제를 사용하지 않은 평활금형에서의 마찰인자는 0.25에서 0.31로 증가, 흑연계 윤활제 적용시에는 0.23에서 0.15로 감소하는 경향을 각각 나타내었고, 2황화 몰리브덴계 윤활제 적용시에는 각각의 변형속도에서 측정된 인자는 0.09-0.10 범위 내로써 마찰인자에 미치는 변형율속도 영향이 아주 미미함을 보여주었다. 본 연구 결과에서는 이 측정결과로부터 각각의 변형속도에서 Al 6061 연주재의 원통형 압축시편으로부터 구한 압축측정응력으로부터 상온유동응력을 구하여 상호 비교하고자 하였다.

  • Ni/3C-SiC 옴믹 접합에 대한 미세구조적-접합 특성과의 상관관계를 규명하였다. 3C-SiC 웨이퍼 위에 저저항 전면 옴믹 적합층을 형성하기 위하여 Ni(t=300$\AA$)을 thermal evaporator를 사용하여 증착하고, 50$0^{\circ}C$, 80$0^{\circ}C$, 103$0^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 30분간(Ar 분위기) 열처리 한 후, scratch test를 실행하여 Ni/3C-SiC의 접착력 특성을 조사하였다. 여러 다른 온도에 따른 Ni/3C-SiC 층의 표면과 계면의 미세구조는 X-ray scattering 법을 사용하였다. 50$0^{\circ}C$ 에서 열처리된 Ni/3C-SiC 층은 가장 낮은 계면 평활도와 가장 높은 표면 평활도를 나타내었다. Ni/3C-SiC 접착력 분석에서 500 $^{\circ}C$ 열처리된 시편의 측정된 임계하중 값은 As-deposited 시편(12 N~ 13 N)보다 훨씬 낮은 2 N~3 N 범위의 값을 보였으나, 열처리 온도가 증가함에 따라 다시 높아지는 경향을 보였다. 미세구조 특성에서는 열처리 온도가 500 $^{\circ}C$ 이상에서는 NiSi$_2$silicides의 domain size는 결정성의 향상에 따라 증가되었다. 결정성 향상이 3C-SiC와 silicides 사이의 격자상수의 낮은 불일치를 완화시키는데 기여 하였 다.

Study of Fatigue Behavior of Repaired Composites (복합재료의 수리후 피로거동 고찰)

  • The static strength and fatigue life of repaired graphite/epoxy laminates are observed using tensile coupon. The lay-up of investigated laminates was [$0^{\circ}$/$\pm$$45^{\circ}$/$90^{\circ}$]$_s$. Static strength was measured from the specimens prepared by various repair techniques such as precured-single patch, precured-double patch and cure-in-place methods. The strength was recovered to the extent of 60~80 % of unnotched case. Fatigue life was also measured from the laminates repaired with cure-in-place method. Hwang and Han's MFLPE 1(modified fatigue life prediction equation 1), which was based on the fatigue modulus degradation model and reference modulus, was chosen for fatigue life prediction of repaired specimen and compared with the conventional fatigue life equation such as S-N curve and Basquin's relation. The MFLPE 1 has better agreement with experimental data than S-N curve and Basquin's relation.

A Study on the Magnetic Properties and Microstructures of Ni-Fe/NiO Bilayers with Various Ar Presure in NiO Deposition (NiO 증착시의 Ar 압력 변화에 따른 Ni-Fe/NiO 이층막의 자기적특성과 미세구조에 대한 연구)

  • The exchange anisotropy between NiO antiferromagnetic layer and NiFe ferromagnetic layer has been investigated in NiFe(10 nm)/NiO(60 nm) formed by magnetron sputtering. The NiO films were sputtered from nickel oxide using R. F. poser and NiFe, Ta were deposited using D. C. power under Ar atmosphere. Above all. we studied the exchange anisotropy of Ni-Fe/NiO bilayer, and focused especially on the effect of NiO depostion condition. Our experimental data showed that the dominant factor for determining the exchange anisotropy properties was the Ar pressure during NiO deposition. The better exchange anisotropy properties were found when the NiO film was deposited at low Ar pressure probably due to the flatten interface and the epitaxial tendency of NiO grains and NiFe grains. However, as Ar pressure increased, interfacial diffusion at NiFe/NiO interface and oxygen content of NiO film increase, and consequently reduced the exchange anisotropy. We concluded that the flatten interface and relatively low oxygen content of NiO layer are dominant factors for the enhancement of the exchange anisotropy in NiFe/NiO bilayer.

  • W-Ti film properties for X-ray absorber applications have been investigated with Ti composition have been investigated with Ti composition variation. W-Ti films were deposited by DC magnetron sputtering system. As the working pressure increases, film density decreases and film stress changes from compressive to tensile. The transition pressure (where the film stress in zero) and the stress gradient decrease by adding Ti into W-Ti(6.5 at.%) film shows the smallest stress gradient and transition pressure. It also shows high density ($17.7g/\textrm{cm}^3$) similar to that of pure-W ($17.8g/\textrm{cm}^3$) at the transition pressure. All the films show columnar structure, and its size decreases with increasing Ti composition. Surface roughness and thermal stability are improved by Ti-addition, resulting in a better property for X-ray absorber applications.

  • Structural, magnetic and magnetoresistance behavior of NiFe/Ag multilayers prepared by a magnetron sputter under an Ar and $Ar/H_2$ atmosphere was studied. It was difficult to make a uniform multilayer by using an Ar atmosphere. However, the uniform multilayers could be fabricated by using an $Ar/H_2$ atmosphere. This was thought to be due to decrease in the energy of the sputtered atom and Ar content of the film. Typical magnetoresistance behavior of the discontinuous NiFe/Ag multilayers appeared when the uniform multilayer was formed and annealed. Substrate temperature did not improve the uniformity of the multilayers. Above 20$0^{\circ}C$ of the substrate temperature, the films were almost formed into granular alloys rather than multilayers.
