TWSC Estimation using GRACE Satellite Gravity Data (GRACE 인공위성 중력 자료를 이용한 수자원변화량(TWSC) 산정)

  • 지구는 지속적으로 변화하는 동력학적 시스템이며, 지표면 형상 및 지구 내부의 질량분포도 계속 변화하고 있다. 지구시스템의 질량재분배 과정에서 발생되는 밀도 차이는 중력장의 미세한 변이를 초래한다. 미 항공우주센터(NASA)와 독일 국립 항공우주연구센터(DLR)에서 공동으로 개발한 GRACE (Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment) 인공위성은 지구의 중력장을 측정하는 위성으로, 2002년부터 현재까지 9년 동안 활동해왔다. 본 연구에서는 한반도(북위 $37.5^{\circ}\sim41.5^{\circ}$, 동경 $125.5^{\circ}\sim130.5^{\circ}$)의 월평균 수자원변화량(TWSC: Terrestrial Water Storage Change)을 산정하기 위해 미국 텍사스대학교 공간연구센터(CSR)에서 가우시안 필터링을 통해 구면조화함수의 계수 형태로 제공된 총 94개월(2002 년 8월~2010년 6월)의 자료(Level-2)를 이용하였다. Level-2 자료는 해양조석, 고체지구조석 및 지구자전으로 인한 극조석 등 조석의 영향과 대기와 해양의 변동성으로 인한 비조석 영향을 보정한 것이다. 이렇게 산정한 TWSC를 수자원관리정보시스템(WAMIS)과 전지구지표동계화시스템(GLDAS)을 통해 제공되는 자료와 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 GRACE 중력장 자료가 수자원총량의 산정과 검증을 위한 대안으로 활용될 수 있음과, 수문요소의 불확실성을 낮출 수 있는 새로운 수문자료로의 활용 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • Bladeless fan is becoming increasingly popular owing to its advantages, such as improved safety, easy to clean, and attractive shape. However, many people are reluctant to purchase it because of several disadvantages, such as noise and moderate wind; therefore, research on how improve wind generation without increasing the motor speed is required. This study investigates the optimization of the shape of the nozzle and nearby surface using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation, ANSYS fluent. The results are analyzed by ANOM (analysis of mean) and interaction analysis; therefore this study suggests the variables of affecting Coanda effect and satisfy the govern equation, the conservation of momentum. The optimal combination was found through a predictive equation. In this study, factors and levels that affect the mass flow rate were selected and experimental points were arranged using the orthogonal array table. The value of the mass flow rate was confirmed by ANSYS fluent, which is a CFD program. Through the ANOM, it was confirmed that the nozzle distance is the most influential parameter affecting the mass flow rate. Furthermore, the mass flow rate obtained from the predictive equation and the mass flow rate from the CFD correspond to the largest values. Results from this study confirmed that the mass flow rate is increased by a change in the shape, even if the motor speed did not increase.

  • 점착성 유사는 응집현상을 통해 크기와 밀도를 바꾸고 이에 따라 부유 및 이동에 큰 영향을 미치는 침강속도가 지속적으로 변화한다. 따라서 점착성 유사의 거동을 이해하기 위해서는 응집현상에 대한 고려가 필수적으로 이루어져야 한다. 현재까지 이루어진 응집현상 모형은 크게 Population balance equation type 모형(PBE)과 Floc growth type 모형(FGM)으로 나뉜다. PBE 모형은 점착성 유사의 입도분포를 모의할 수 있는 장점이 있는 반면에 닫힌 계에서 질량보존을 만족시키지 못하는 단점을 가진다. FGM 모형은 간단한 식을 통해 질량보존을 만족시키고 수치적으로 효율적인 모의를 할 수 있는 반면 입도분포를 모의할 수 없는 단점을 가진다. 이러한 장단점으로 인해 PBE 모형은 유사이동모형과 결합되어 이용된 사례가 없으며 FGM 모형은 유사이동모형과 결합되어 평균적인 점착성 유사의 거동만을 모의하는 연구에 이용되었다. 본 연구에서는 Stochastic floc growth type 모형(SFGM)의 개발에 따라 이해할 수 있는 점착성 유사이동의 특성과 이를 유사이동 모형과 결합시키는 방향에 대해 검토한다. 현재까지 진행된 연구 결과를 분석하면 SFGM은 질량보존을 만족시키면서도 점착성 유사의 입도분포를 모의할 수 있는 장점을 가지는 것으로 판단된다. 특히 난수발생의 단계에서 적절한 확률분포형을 선정하고 확률매개변수의 보정이 이루어지는 경우에는 높은 정확도를 가지는 입도분포 모의가 가능하다. 가는 모래를 대상으로 하는 비점착성 유사의 경우에는 추계학적인 유사이동 모형의 개발이 활발히 이루어져 왔다. 개발된 모형은 실제 측정값에 적용되어 다양한 학술적 가능성을 보여왔다. 따라서 SFGM의 개발이 점착성 유사의 이동모형과 결합되는 경우에는 점착성 유사가 지배적인 다양한 환경에서의 거동 특성을 이해할 때 매우 유용할 것으로 판단된다. 응집모형은 난류의 강도에 지배적인 영향을 받으며 유사의 입경 및 밀도 변화를 계산한다는 점을 고려할 때 유사이동 모형 역시 난류 강도에 대한 정보를 계산할 수 있는 지배방정식을 필요로 한다. 향후 개발될 추계학적 점착성 유사의 이동모형은 난류에 대한 정보, SFGM의 결합 등을 필요조건으로 가진다.

An Experimental Study on the Mixing Flow Structure of Turbulent Cross Flow with Respect to the Ratio of Mass Flow Rate (난류충돌유동의 질량유량비에 따른 혼합유동구조에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the flow structure and mixing process of a cross mixing flow formed by two round jets with respect to the ratio of mass flow rate. This flow configuration is of great practical relevance in a variety of combustion systems, and the flow behaviour of a cross jet defends critically on the ratio of mass flow rate and the cross angle. The mass flow rate ratios of two different jets were controlled as 1.0, 0.8, 0.6, and 0.4, and the crossing angle of two round jets was fixed at 45 degree. The velocities issuing from jet nozzle with an exit diameter of 20mm were adjusted to 40m/s, 32m/s, 24m/s, and 16m/s, and the measurements have been conducted in the streamwise range of $1.1X_0$to $2.5X_0$ by an on-line measurement system consisted of a constant temperature type two channel hot-wire anemometry connected to a computer analyzing system. The original air flow was generated by a subsonic wind tunnel with reliable stabilities and uniform flows in the test section. For the analysis of the cross mixing flow structure in the downstream region after the cross point, the mean velocity profiles, the resultant velocity contours, and the three-dimensional profiles depending upon the mass flow rate ratio have been concentrately studied.

  • A numerical analysis on the wave deformation in the shallow water region is performed for the case of two intersecting wave trains of the same frequency on uniformly sloping beaches. This model is based on the consideration of wave energy balance and wave action conservation, and iteratively solved the set of conservation equations of both mass and horizontal momentum. Using the computed results, the wave deformations in accordance with the variation of the parameters luck as incident wave angie and wave height in deep water which influences the variation of wave hight and mean water level under the intersecting wave trains in the shallow water region. are considered.

  • The spray characteristics of coaxial swirl injector under ambient high pressure conditions were investigated in this paper. Three injectors were used to study the effect of recess length and fuel injector type(open or closed). In this research, experimental conditions(ambient gas density) were calculated by Buckingham Pi-theory and spray characteristics of the injectors were represented by mass flow rate according to the injection pressure, the spray angle, mass distribution, and mean diameter of droplet.

  • Filtration on horizontal filter medium facing upward is accompanied by sedimentation. When sedimentation phenomenon is not considered, the average specific cake resistance by filtration could be in error more than two times. In the previous paper on this subject, it was insisted that the solid mass fraction of suspension changes in filtration period by sedimentation. But we could not find out the degree of change. At the first half of this paper, the average specific cake resistance measured by permeation will be proved to be exact in several means. The average specific cake resistance conventionally measured by filtration does not give correct results because it uses initial solid mass fraction of suspension. Then we calculated the changed solid mass fraction of suspension due to sedimentation during filtration by the experimental values obtained "filtration-permeation" method. We also determined the solid mass fraction at a certain moment of filtration from the suspension height and a new equation derived in this study. The two results were compared and proven that they almost matched.

Analysis of the Factors Relating Nutritional Status in Discharging of Leukemia Patients Receiving Chemotherapy (항암화학요법을 받고 있는 혈액암 환자의 퇴원시 영양 상태와 관련한 요인 분석)

  • This study was performed to investigate the changes of oral diet intake during the admission period and identify the factors related with nutritional status in discharging of leukemia patients. This is a retrospective cross sectional study on 46 leukemia patients receiving chemotherapy at the Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital from July to September 2009. The patients' charts were surveyed on the general characteristics and factors relating chemotherapy. The calorie count method was used to investigate diet intake during admission period. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to identify possible confounding factors. A p < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. The mean age was $42.8\;{\pm}\;14.6$ years and the average length of stay was $30.4\;{\pm}\;7.0$ days. The incidence of malnourished patients was 60.9% in discharging. There was a significant difference in chemotherapy sessions and chemotherapy period between well-nourished and malnourished patients. The average energy intake was 1,525.9 kcal in well-nourished patients and 1,143 kcal in malnourished patients, which was significant different. From repeated measures ANOVA test, the changes of oral intake during admission period were significant by groups. In addition, there were significant differences in oral intake according to each period between well-nourished and malnourished patients. In multivariate logistic regression analysis, both the ratio of total oral energy intake to recommended energy intake and chemotherapy sessions were significantly associated with nutritional status in discharging. The results of this study could be used to establish a protocol of nutritional management for leukemia patients receiving chemotherapy.

  • In this study, the effect of phosphorus flame retardants on the flame retardancy of the rigid polyurethane foam(PUF) was studied. Tetramethylene bis(orthophos-phorylurea)[TBPU] and Tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate[TCEP], Tris(2-chloropropyl)phosphate [TCPP], Triethyl phosphate[TEP] were used as flame retardant. It was found that TBPU added PUF exhibits low mean heat release rate(HRR), peak HRR, effective heat of combusion(EHC), mass loss rate (MLR), CO yield and $CO_2$ compared other flame retardants.

  • An experimental investigation was conducted to clarify the combustion characteristics of Polyethylene-GOX(PE-GOX) hybrid motor using a single-port fuel grain configuration. Data from the experiments were analyzed to evaluate the length-averaged regression rate of PE-GOX propellants. Based on the existing theories, the empirical regression rate formulas provided from Marxman[3,4] and Altman[14] showed good concordance with the PE-GOX experiments. The accuracy of the regression rate was then evaluated and compared with the measured one. As a result, Marxman's model was somewhat more precise than Altman's model in these experiments. Moreover, the consideration of the empirical regression rate showed that O/F ratio has minor variation due to the quasi constant inflow of the fuel during motor firing.
