Target Modeling with Color Arrangement for Region-Based Object Tracking (영역 기반 물체 추적에서 색상 배치를 고려한 표적 모델링)

  • In this paper, we propose a new class of color histogram model suitable for object tracking. In addition to the pixel count, each bin of the proposed model also contains the spatial mean and the average value of the pixels located at a certain distance from the mean location of the bin. Using the proposed color histogram model, we derive a mean shift procedure using the modified Bhattacharyya distance. Unlike most mean shift based methods, our algorithm performs well even when the object being tracked shares similar colors with the background. Experimental results demonstrate improved tracking performance over existing methods.

  • Recently, ITU-TSS recommends a service specific connection oriented protocol (SSCOP) which assures the successful transmission of signalling information for B-ISDN. In the SSCOP, there is a mechanism to exchange periodically status informations for both error and flow controls. In this paper, we analyze the SSCOP with a discrete-time queueing model. We consider two cases for link-by-link and end-to-end controls. As the performance measures, we investigate delay, throughput, and buffer size of the receiver. The average values of these measures are analyzed with respect to the loss probability of messages, the traffic load, and the exchange period of status information. We also verify the accuracy of this model with simulations.

  • 지역기후모델 RegCM3 이용하여 역학적 상세화 이중둥지격자체계를 구축하고 관측, ECHO-G/S의 20C3M 및 SRES A2 시나리오를 이용하여 동아시아(60km 분해능)와 한반도(20km 분해능)에 대한 현재 및 미래(1971-2100, 130년)의 기후변화 시나리오 자료를 생산하였다. 미래 동아시아와 한반도지역은 기온상승에 의해 대기 중 수증기 함유량 증가와 여름 몬순의 강화로 전 계절에 걸쳐 강수량이 증가하고 토양수분, 증발산도 증가할 것으로 전망되었다. 상세화된 일(daily)강수량 자료를 일반극치(general extreme value, GEV)분석을 활용하여 20세기 동안 한반도의 일최대강수량의 공간 분포를 분석하고 미래 강수의 일최대강수량 변화를 전망하였다. 20세기 (1971-2000)에는 남해안과 경기 내륙지방에서 일최대강수량의 빈도와 평균값이 나타났다. 21세기에는 일최대강수량의 평균은 현재보다 약 10 $mmday^{-1}$, 20년 빈도 강수량은 60 $mmday^{-1}$ 정도 증가할 것이고, 남해안과 서해안과 충청내륙일부지방, $39^{\circ}N$ 이북에서 뚜렷이 나타날 것으로 전망되었다.

Variation in Residence Time and Water Exchange Rate by Release Time of Pollutants Over a Tidal Cycle in Masan Bay (조석 주기별 오염물질 방출에 따른 마산만의 체류시간 및 해수교환율 변화)

  • Lagrangian particle transport model coupled with the EFDC have been performed to estimate the residence time and water exchange rate by release time of pollutants over a tidal cycle in Masan Bay. The modelled residence time for the whole bay was about 40 days, ranging from less than 20 days in the southern parts of Budo, to over 100 days in the upper parts of Somodo. The spatial difference of residence time was controlled by tidal residual currents and the distance to the bay channel. The area mean residence time during spring and neap tides was estimated to be about 36 days and 42 days, respectively. The time required for 30% exchange of water was calculated as ranging from 65 to 105 days by release time of pollutants.

  • Recently, fuel consumption efficiency has become the most important issue in the vehicle development process due to the problem of environmental pollution. The air flow patterns of the vehicle body line and rear part are the most important elements affecting the fuel consumption efficiency. Especially, the airflow pattern of the vehicle rear part is the most important design factor to be considered in rear spoiler design. In this paper, the control factors affecting the airflow of the rear spoiler are determined, the airflow sensitivity of these control factors are tested and, then, the optimized control factors to reduce the airflow drag force are proposed. The model of optimized control factors is tested and the values of the optimized control factors are changed by analyzing the S/N ratio and mean value. Finally, the new modified model incorporating the optimized control factors is tested in an air flow tunnel and its ability to decrease the air drag and reduce the cost is verified.

  • 수도권의 중요한 상수원인 팔당호 수질에 큰 영향을 주고 있는 경안천 유역의 오염배출량을 저감하기 위하여 많은 인공습지조성이 계획되었으나 이들의 위치선정의 적합성에 대한 분석이 부족한 실정이다. 또한 경안천은 상류에서 중류까지는 주변 농경지의 용수공급을 위해 많은 수중보가 설치되어 물의 흐름이 단절되어있어 수리적 요소에 인공요인으로 작용하고 있으며, 하류로 갈수록 하천이 곡선형태로 흐르고 하폭 또한 넓어져 자체적으로 유기물이 증가하기 좋은 환경을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 유역의 자연적, 인공적 요소를 고려한 물리적 모델을 구축하고 각 오염원특성별 부하량 분석을 통한 속성정보를 반영하였으며 오염저감시설설치 시나리오의 타당성분석을 분석을 수행하였다. 연구과정을 좀더 상세히 살펴보면 첫째, 비점오염원의 주된 경로중 하나인 축산계부하량 저감을 위하여 지형적 인자를 고려한 인공습지조성 적지분석 결과를 HSPF모델에 반영하였다. 둘째, 기존 오염 총량제에서 수행해오던 오염부하량 산정방식을 통해 산정된 양을 유역단위로 재분배 하여 오염원 분포를 반영하였다. 주요 오염부하량인 축산계와 토지계의 오염부하량만을 적용하였으며 일부 오염원 항목들은 생략하거나 하수처리시설을 통해 처리되고 있는 것으로 모의하였다. 셋째, 각 시나리오별 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 경안천 인공습지조성가능성 및 수질개선 효과를 예측하였다. 기존의 점오염원 처리시설만으로는 하천에서의 목표수질을 만족시키는데 한계가 있기 때문에 점오염원 저감시설뿐 아니라 비점오염원 저감시설인 인공습지를 기존의 처리시설에 연계하여 시나리오를 구성하였다. 기존습지시설의 오염저감율은 각 시설들의 평균값을 적용하였으며 처리효율은 BOD, TN, TP 각각 40%, 25%, 12%로 적용하였다. 오염원분포를 고려한 모의결과 현재 인공습지 입지대상지역들 중 좀 더 효율적인 오염저감 효과를 보이는 지역이 분석되었다.

Prediction of the Torsional Strength of Reinforced Concrete Beams Subjected to Pure Torsion (순수비틀림을 받는 철근콘크리트 보의 비틀림 강도 예측)

  • The current ACI design code does not take into account the contribution of concrete for the torsional moment of reinforced concrete(RC) beams subjected to pure torsion. This code is not capable of evaluating the inter-effects between concrete and torsional reinforcement on the torsional resistance of the RC beams. Some test results indicated that the current ACI code was not successful in predicting the observed torsional moment of the RC beams with reasonable accuracy. The research reported in this paper provides an evaluation equation to predict the torsional moment of the RC beams subjected to pure torsion. The proposed equation is derived from the equilibrium as well as compatibility equations of the truss model for the cracked RC beams. Comparisons between the observed and calculated torsional moments of the 66 tested beams, showed reasonable agreement.

Kinetic Analyses on Thermal Degradation of Epoxy Based Adhesive for Packaging Application (센서 패키지용 고분자 접착제의 열화 거동 분석)

  • An analysis of thermal degradation of epoxy based adhesive performed by thermogravimetry tests are presented in this study. Six different heating rates were employed for the weight change measurements. Based on the data, an Arrhenius type modeling equation was developed by calculating activation energies and proportional constants, and $n^{th}$ polynomial function was adopted to predict the weight change rates. The prediction results by the modeling was compared with the data using the average activation energy. It was found that the activation energy at the each heating rate was not same due to the different degradation kinetics, especially at the high heating rate. To overcome this pitfall, a new approach using exponential function series was introduced and employed. The calculation results showed very good agreements with the test data regardless of the heating rates.

Algorithm of Face Region Detection in the TV Color Background Image (TV컬러 배경영상에서 얼굴영역 검출 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, detection algorithm of face region based on skin color of in the TV images is proposed. In the first, reference image is set to the sampled skin color, and then the extracted of face region is candidated using the Euclidean distance between the pixels of TV image. The eye image is detected by using the mean value and standard deviation of the component forming color difference between Y and C through the conversion of RGB color into CMY color model. Detecting the lips image is calculated by utilizing Q component through the conversion of RGB color model into YIQ color space. The detection of the face region is extracted using basis of knowledge by doing logical calculation of the eye image and lips image. To testify the proposed method, some experiments are performed using front color image down loaded from TV color image. Experimental results showed that face region can be detected in both case of the irrespective location & size of the human face.

Estimation of Aerosol Vertical Profile from the MODIS Aerosol Optical Thickness and Surface Visibility Data (MODIS 에어러솔 광학두께와 지상에서 관측된 시정거리를 이용한 대기 에어러솔 연직분포 산출)

  • This study presents a modeling of aerosol extinction vertical profiles in Korea by using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectro-radiometer(MODIS) derived aerosol optical thickness(AOT) and ground based visibility observation data. The method uses a series of physical equations for the derivation of aerosol scale height and vertical profiles from MODIS AOT and surface visibility data. The modelled results under the standard atmospheric condition showed small differences with the standard aerosol vertical profile used in the radiative transfer model. Model derived aerosol scale heights for two cases of clean(${\tau}_{MODIS}=0.12{\pm}0.07$, visibility=$21.13{\pm}3.31km$) and hazy atmosphere(${\tau}_{MODIS}=1.71{\pm}0.85$, visibility=$13.33{\pm}5.66km$) are $0.63{\pm}0.33km$ and $1.71{\pm}0.84km$. Based on these results, aerosol extinction profiles can be estimated and the results are transformed into the KML code for visualization of dataset. This has implications for atmospheric environmental monitoring and environmental policies for the future.
