Teachers' Perception on the Expression Method in Bebras Challenge for Computing Knowledge Assessment

  • The evaluation of students' computational thinking begins with the evaluation of knowledge about the concepts and principles of computing. In this study, we analyzed the differences in teachers' perceptions depending on the description method of the bebras challenge questions to evaluate computer science knowledge. First, we classified the questions into two types depending on whether computer science terms were included or not. Also we made a computational thinking questionnaire with two types of questions and surveyed 72 major teachers. As a result, teachers expressed the opinion that the evaluation questions that revealed computer science terms were appropriate as evaluation questions for information subjects. They also perceived it as more helpful in assessing computational thinking and coding skills. Through the results of this study, we suggested that the way the questions are worded is important in the process of assessing students' understanding of computer science concepts and computational thinking skills.

Comparison of Expectation-Perception between Patient and Nurse on Nursing Care Service in Comprehensive Nursing Care Wards (간호간병통합서비스 병동의 간호서비스에 대한 환자-간호사 인식도 비교)

  • The aim of this study was to compare perception between patient and nurse on comprehensive nursing care service using SERVQUAL model. To accomplish this goal, the 5 gaps of expectation-perception on comprehensive nursing care service was analyzed. The subjects were 192 nurses and 321 patients who admitted in comprehensive nursing care service wards. As results, patient's satisfaction was higher than patient's expectation and also nurse's performance. Therefore, we found that comprehensive nursing care service would contribute to perform holistic nursing care services in the future. To develop comprehensive nursing care service system sustainably, it needs continuous measurement of patient's expectation and satisfaction using conceptual model of this study.

  • 최근 사회기반 시설물들의 대형화, 고밀도화가 됨에 따라 재해 재난대비에 대한 관심 또한 높아지고 있다. 특히, 화재는 우리 주변에서 지속적으로 발생하는 재난이다. 한편, 지진과 같은 경우에는 중소규모가 한반도내에서 빈번하게 발생하고 있지만 직접적으로 피해를 경험 한 적이 없어, 적극적으로 대비해야하는 재해로는 아직 인식하고 있지 못한다고 할 수 있다. 재난, 재해에 대한 연구는 과거의 피해를 기준으로 미래에 대한 대책을 해결책으로 제시하는 방식으로 많은 연구자들에 의해서 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리사회에 발생 가능한 재난에 대해서 서로 다른 인식 수준을 가지고 있는 지진과 화재의 재난에 대한 시민인식차이를 실증적으로 검토하였다. 화재 및 지진에 대한 설문조사를 실시하고 결과 분석을 통해 나타나는 재난시의 인간행동심리를 Facet이론을 이용하여 범위를 선정하고 분석하였다. 분석방법으로는 통합적 분석 방법으로 각 연령대별로 분류하여 분석하였다. 연령대별로 습득한 지식 및 교육환경 배경이 차이가 있을 것이라는 가정 아래 연령대별 분류를 하였다. 설문조사결과를 바탕으로 Facet이론에 근거하여 분석한 결과, 화재발생시의 통합적 분석의 경우는 [MATTER], [SPACE], [ENERGY]등이 다수 나타났고 지진 발생 시에는 통합적으로 [SPACE], [ENERGY]가 다수 나타났다. 따라서, 지진에 대한 국가적으로 교육시스템을 갖추고 개인적인 지진발생시 행동상황을 숙지하고 연습하는 것이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 지진과 화재시의 인간행동심리를 비교한 결과, 화재는 우리나라에서 가장 빈번하게 발생하는 재해이기 때문에 비교적 국가적으로나 개인적으로 대비를 하고 있다는 것을 실증적으로 나타내었다. 화재로 인한 재난은 국가적으로 끊임없이 교육(인식전환)을 실시하고 있음에도 불구하고 지속적으로 발생하고 있다. 하지만 지진과 비교해 인위적 과실로 인한 재난임에도 불구하고 사전에 화재발생시 대처하는 행동숙지로 인해 많은 인적 및 재산적 피해를 줄일 수 있다. 최근 우리나라는 지진에 대해서는 건축물의 붕괴로 인한 피해방지에 중점을 두고 건축물의 내진성능에 대한 평가가 점진적으로 추진되고 있다. 하지만, 지진발생시 이와 같은 현재 방재정책과 더불어 국민 스스로 지진에 대한 발생가능성 및 예상위험에 대한 인식수준을 향상시킴으로서 국가적 재난을 효과적으로 대처할 필요가 있음을 실증적으로 나타내었다.

Analysis of the Impact of Motion Recognition Sensor on Mobile Game by Compare Valuation Experiment (비교평가 실험으로 동작인식센서가 모바일게임에 미치는 영향분석)

  • I-phone presented a new mobile control type by the introducing motion recognition sensor and that influenced on game application development so that led a lot of games using kinds of sensors. In this paper, we divided the game enjoyment into 5 factors for the embodiment of the sensor's influence direction on the enjoyment. We experimented two game, which have same content, different devices in using motion recognition sensor or not for clarifying the distinction between devices. As a experiment source game, we used Cooking Mama, as a experimental device, we used I-pod touch and NDS. This experiment shows a motion recognition sensor control's enjoyment is far superior to touch sensor. This sensor got high marks on every fun factors, stimulus, absorption, empathy, accomplishment and variation. Especially, stimulus and empathy showed great differences. In this case, we found the fact that extended communication between the gamer and the device can be fun.

Perception and Behavior Regarding the Safety of Medical Devices among Medical Personnel at a Tertiary Care Hospital (의료기기 안전에 관한 대학병원 의료인들의 인식과 행동에 관한 연구)

  • This exploratory study aimed to explore the perception (knowledge and attitude) and behaviors of medical personnel regarding medical device safety and to identify the differences in results linked with the type of their task. A questionnaire was administered to medical personnel working at a tertiary care hospital with 900 beds in Incheon, Korea, and 220 completed questionnaires were used for analysis. The results revealed that the majority of the medical personnel perceived the potential risk involved in different types of medical devices they use and stated that they need training programs for safe use of medical devices. Concerning the perception regarding medical devices across different positions within the hospital, it was found that the residents had a low awareness about safety issues, although the medical services they handled involve high risks, thereby calling for safety training. Further nationwide studies are needed to improve the quality and validity of data and eventually to provide important information required by policy makers and academicians to manage medical device safety.

  • Satisfaction of the patient against the medical service in department of radiology and it evaluated the different recognition of radiological technologist and patient. and investigates it's improvement direction. It sent the reply the above the which is a usual result in question result of the most that, the receipt process it was complicated in the portion which is insufficient,"The receipt process is complicated", "waiting time is long"and "don't radiation protection for patient and guardian". Also these a facts was recognizing patients and radiological technologist all. And the effort of the radiological technologist is necessary with the method which reduces a recognition difference. The periodical medical service satisfaction investigates and must endeavor in reform measure preparation.

Analysis of Response and Behavior of Engineering Students Participated in Long-Term Field Practice (IPP) (공학계열 장기현장실습(IPP) 참여자 반응 및 행태분석)

  • In this study, the results of the IPP system were examined and the direction of development was suggested from the viewpoint of students participating in long-term field practice. The participating students recognized that the IPP system was helpful in enhancing their major competence, non-major competence, and job competitiveness. On the other hand, satisfaction with practicing companies and operating universities remains at a normal level for three years, and the intention to recommend IPP system to junior colleagues and colleagues has been consistently high for three years. The more consistent the desired job and the IPP participation job, the greater the positive perception of the IPP effect and the greater the recommendation intention of IPP system.

Assessment type and gender differences in science achievement (평가 방법에 따른 과학 성취도에서의 성 차이)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences of science achievement between female- and male students in different assessment types, expecting the reconsideration of their scientific ability. to accomplish this purpose, the school science achievement score of 1,487 female- and male students in 2000 were analyzed from the perspectives of assessment methods and gender differences, achievement level and gender differences, and gender characteristics in correlation between each assessment type and total science score. The science achievement score in this study includes mi-term and final paper-and-pencil test in two semesters and performance assessment. The results are as follows. First, in the total science achievement score, whereas female students achieved significantly better than male counterparts in the 7th grade, there was no significant difference between two genders in the 8th and 9th grades. Second, as for the close-ended items, all students, regardless of their gender and grade, showed no significant difference. As for the open-ended items, whereas female students achieved significantly better than male counterparts in the 7th grade, there was no significant difference between gender in the 8th and 9th grades. As for the performance assessment, all female students, regardless of their achievement level, achieved significant better than male counterparts, which is very noteworthy. Third, in the uppermost achievement level, there was no significant difference not only in close- and open ended items but also in performance assessment. Fourth, male students' correlation between performance assessment and total science score was relatively higher than female students'. The result of this study, that female students did significantly better than male students in performance assessment, is interesting in that performance assessment is widely accepted as more reliable and valid method in measuring students' various ability than traditional paper-and-pencil test.

  • For better understanding the relationship between consumers' perception and sensory characteristics of products, diverse types of rapid sensory profiling technique have been suggested as alternatives to conventional descriptive analysis. Among these, check-all-that-apply (CATA) method has gained popularity for studying consumers' perception and intuitive responses to products due to their simplicity, speed, and ease of use. CATA method has been used to gather consumers' perception derived from sensory characteristics of products as well as consumers' emotion responses to products in recent years. Moreover, many researchers reported that CATA method can be used to provide valuable information for product optimization by applying a penalty analysis and collecting responses to ideal product. Thus, this article reviews recent research using CATA in the field of sensory and consumer science and introduces practical applications to achieve various business objectives in food industry.

G Metropolitan City Elementary School Teachers' Perception of National-Level Curriculum (G광역시 초등학교 교사의 국가수준 교육과정에 대한 인식 연구)

  • The study is aimed at finding out the perception of national-level curriculum among elementary school teachers in G Metropolitan City. For the study, the survey results of 124 elementary school teachers in G-city were used. According to the study, the average score of elementary school teachers recognizing national-level curriculum was 3.48 points and the self-assessment of national-level curriculum perception was 3.75, indicating that the self-assessment score was higher than that of national-level curriculum perception. Also, as a result of comparing the perception differences according to the characteristics of elementary school teachers, teachers working in schools under 20 classes had higher national-level curriculum recognition than teachers working in schools over 31 classes. The group with research school experience was higher than the group without research school experience, and the group with both research and innovation school experience was significantly higher than the group without research or innovation school experience. As a result of conducting multiple regression analysis to find out the variables influencing the national-level curriculum, school size variables showed an explanatory power of 13.1%. These results suggest that awareness of the national-level curriculum can be improved when more opportunities for teachers to access curriculum development are provided.
