  • This study was conducted to develop the Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Knowledge Scale for adolescents. Based on a literature review, the first preliminary 40 questions were created, which content validation by expert reviewers and a pilot study then refined into a draft scale of 29 items. To confirm the validity and reliability of this preliminary scale, data were collected from 141 adolescents between February 13 and 26, 2016: factor analysis resulted in a factor loading of more than .52, while convergent validity revealed that the group receiving STI education was significantly higher (p=.009). The final version of the scale contained 16 items, with a reliability measured by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of .85 and the 39.3% of correct answers. The STI knowledge scale developed in this study is a valid scale that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of STI education for adolescents.

  • Objective : This study introduces domestic and overseas systematic assessment tools that can identify eating problems of dementia patients based on abnormal behavior observations and turns them into Korean through the verification of content placement by expert groups. Methods : Three types of assessment tools were selected for final development in Korean version through several meetings based on a wide range of relevant literature searches. The 3 selected assessment tools were first translated by the researchers, and a 9-person expert team was used to verify the Content Validity Index. Results : The EBS content equivalence calculation shows that all 6 questions and 1 response item had a CVI value 0.9, and all items were included in Korean EBS without modification. The EdFED content equivalence calculation showed that all 11 questions had CVI value 0.9, which was included in the Korean edition of EdFED without modification. The content equivalence calculation of the FDI showed that all 19 questions had a CVI of 0.8 or higher, and all items were included in the Korean version of the FDI without modification of the item. Conclusion : Korean versions of the EBS, EdFED and FDI, which are based on behavioral observation and diet tools for people with dementia, have been developed. Early determination of problems related to diet in dementia patients and providing proper intervention through observational Korean version assessment tools is vital in terms of strengthening patient nutrition and reducing caregivers' burden.

  • Objectives: This study is an explorative study for developing an instrument to measure habitual physical activity level of school-aged children. Methods: HPAQ-S consists of 41 items and a self-reported 5-day recall instrument designed to assess habitual physical activity level for school-aged children. For the validity and reliability test, a sample consisted of 28 children, aged 10-11 years old. Results: 41 question items showed an acceptable internal consistency (cronbach's alpha=.89). A significant positive correlation with the pedometer results (r=.69, p<.001) and with Borg's questionnaire (r=.76, p<.001) support the validity of HPAQ-S. Conclusion: HPAQ-S may be more useful for measuring habitual physical activity level of elementary school-aged children in large populations.

  • This study comprehensively reviewed and summarized the research on the qualitative assessment tools of elderly leisure activities. 232 papers were searched in three databases, domestic and foreign, and nine were selected to meet the selection criteria. Five out of nine studies (55.5%) have been written in the last five years and have been implemented in six countries. As for the number of questions in the evaluation tool, 20 to 40 items were the most with 6 studies (66.6%), and 7 out of 9 studies used a 3-7 point Likert scale. There were a total of 37 variables related to leisure activities, and the most variables related to mental. Previously developed evaluation tools were biased toward the measurement of specific variables or did not fit the domestic situation. In the future, various variables of leisure activities for the elderly can be measured qualitatively, and a wide range of instruments that reflect the characteristics of the elderly in Korea should be developed.

  • The purpose of this study is to complement the problem of lecture evaluation items and to improve the lecture evaluation items to fit to original purpose of lecture evaluation to enhance the lecture's quality. For this, meanings of good teaching, lecture evaluation domains and elements of preceding study, the contents and problems of lecture evaluation tools in A college were searched, and in this foundation, an improved lecture evaluation tool was suggested. As the result of this study, important features of the improved tool are followed: First, the compositions of evaluation domains, evaluation elements, and evaluation items were reconstituted. Second, to acquire the important information for the better lecture, the items were devised according to the features of good teaching in colleges. Third, the items concerned of evaluation elements which is commonly suggested by the lecture evaluation tools of preceding study were developed. Forth, if there is the information which is required for the enhancement of the lecture quality, the items were developed though the result could not be presented in the arithmetical means. Fifth, evaluation items to improve the problems of lecture evaluation tools which had been carried out in A college were developed.

  • The test instrument utilized to diagnose and evaluate a trainee's ability are necessary for an effective information literacy education. Nevertheless, there is a lack of a standardized test instrument to comprehensively measure students' information literacy. The purpose of this study is to develop a standardized test instrument to evaluate the information literacy of middle school students, and to verify the reliability and validity of the test instrument. For this purpose, this study selected factors that can show the information literacy and developed an information literacy test framework that was designed based on Guilford's SOI model and Meeker's SOI-LA test. The test instrument that was developed through this study is a 30-item Web-based multiple-choice test. This study administrated tests in middle school students (794 students joined), and analyzed difficulty, reliability, discrimination index, validity of tests, and reviewed tests items to qualify the standardized test. The cutoff score was also decided when using these tests as a diagnostic information literacy assessment.

  • Previous studies reported that gifted students' capacity on mathematics had high correlations with results of the performance assessment. However, there have been few studies that develop recommending tools through the assessment that can be used to identify mathematically gifted students or analyse their applications. Then it is difficult to use them to identify mathematically gifted students practically. Therefore, this study developed the tasks and evaluation tables for the tools. And one of them was applied for four students in Grade 1 of a middle school to simulate the assessment and characteristics assessment teachers showed were analysed. As the results, the extensive and specific information on the giftedness of the students was obtained through using the tool. The gifted capacity grasped from the order, speed, and attitudes of problem-solving was identified as observing the process of solving the task.

  • In a rapidly changing environment, public libraries need performance measures that can comprehensively represent their activities in order to respond to various changes, demonstrate social value, and justify input resources. However, most of the performance evaluations have been focused on specific areas or specific analysis methods. Therefore, this study looked at the efforts of advanced countries of overseas libraries to develop performance evaluation tools for public libraries in order to develop performance management tools for domestic public libraries. The implications were derived by reviewing and analyzing the direction, evaluation system, and major performance evaluation areas of public library performance evaluation. The main result was that the perspective of public library performance evaluation was shifting from input-output-oriented to outcome or impact, and the performance evaluation area was linked to the development strategy of public libraries or the role of the library. And, the government and institutions were working together to establish an evaluation system for performance management of public libraries.
