A Study On Information Literacy Cultivation For Elementary School Class Teachers (초등학교 담임교사의 정보소양함양에 대한 연구)

  • 21세기 정보화 시대에 정보소양함양은 범국가적인 정보화사업추진의 이슈로 떠오르고 있으며 이에 학교는 그 선봉의 역할에 서 있다. 본 논문에서는 학교 교육정보화의 중심인 초등학교 담임교사의 정보소양함양 시스템을 제안하였다. 본 논문의 구성은 다음과 같다. 먼저, 교원 정보소양 개념에 대한 분석에서 시작하여 국내의 정보소양 인증 실태를 조사하였으며, 담임교사로서 학급운영과 학교행정업무에 필요한 구성요소를 분야별로 추출하였다. 이렇게 추출한 구성요소로 작성한 평가 문항을 통해 교사는 자신의 정보소양을 자가 진단할 수 있고 부족한 부분의 영역에 대하여 처방 받을 수 있도록 하였다. 본 초등학교 담임교사 정보소양함양 시스템의 특징은 첫째, 각종 연수 및 정보통신기술 학습에 대한 기초자료를 제공한다. 둘째, 통합형 평가를 개발하고 평가 항목을 다변화한다. 셋째, 수준별/업무별 평가 과정을 개발ㆍ제공한다. 넷째, 자기 주도적 학습력을 항상시킬 수 있다.

A Study on KSAT for Assessing Statistical Literacy by a Comparative Analysis with SAT (대학수학능력시험에서 통계적 소양 평가의 가능성 모색 - SAT 통계 문항과의 비교를 중심으로)

  • In the mathematics curriculum that was revised in 2009, statistical literacy is explicitly addressed as a goal and specific objectives are included. However, statistical literacy has not been addressed in the studies on KSAT. This study aimed to draw implications on how to improve KSAT in a sense that statistical literacy could be evaluated instead of testing typical facts or skills by comparing KSAT with SAT. We used mathematical problem solving process and category of context of PISA framework (OECD, 2013) to administer the comparison of KSAT and SAT. Result shows that both KSAT and SAT use various context, but items in KSAT is limited in assessing critical understanding. We suggested several ways to develop context-based items for KSAT in which statistical literacy could be assessed.

A Profile of Mathematical Literacy on Korean Students in PISA 2003 (PISA 2003에 나타난 우리나라 학생들의 수학적 소양의 특징)

  • This study intends to examine the characteristics of mathematical literacy on Korean Students in PISA 2003(Programme for International Student Assessment 2003). We study the mean performance, the distribution of student performance, the student performance in terms of mathematics contents and process and situation and item format, the differences in mean scores between PISA 2000 and PISA 2003, and the gender differences in student performance. In addition to, we study students' engagement with mathematics, students' beliefs about themselves, students' anxiety in mathematics, and students' teaming strategies. Finally, we discuss the reasons of the characteristics of mathematical literacy on Korean students in PISA 2003, and suggest the implications for mathematics educators and educational policy-makers.

  • This paper reviews the general education curriculum in engineering colleges which are accredited or prepare to be accredited in Korea. And it researches the relation of the learning outcome of general education and course assessment. Most of engineering colleges usually operate core curriculum. They provided engineering students few specific general education courses if anything. Engineering students evaluated the outcome of the general education courses less than major courses. It is necessary to develop new general education courses for engineer like as the management for engineering students or leadership program Also the faculties teaching the general education courses need to develop new learning method and materials, which help students to achieve soft skills.

On Enhancing Science Culture and Evaluating Scientific Literacy: Focusing on PISA's Projects (과학문화의 증진과 과학적 소양의 평가: PISA의 평가사례를 중심으로)

  • Science cultures in the dimension of social interaction must be correlated with science cultures or science literacy in the dimension of psychological interaction. In order to develop a mature science culture, it must be assumed 1) that a science culture in a society ran be evaluated and 2) that we have to set up the criteria for evaluating it. This paper, based on the assumptions, makes an attempt to analyze the concept of science literacy underlying the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) conducted by OECD. The analyses are driven by the questions such as 'which philosophical backgrounds are absorbed into the concept of PISA' science literacy?' and 'What suggestions can be found with respect to the goal of enhancing the science culture?' In conclusion, the science literacy in PISA reflects the elements proposed by logical empiricism, naturalized philosophy of science, and social constructivism, which are being incorporated by the 'collaboration research program' conducted by the newly-emerging interdisciplinary field of 'science of science.' Finally, some further suggestions are added to the analyses to pursue more positive directions to induce mature science cultures in our society.

  • This study is mainly focused on objective evaluating the influence of the e-NIE activities on the elementary students' ICT competence which is considered as a critical feature in contemporary society. An e-NIE site which is covering 5 domains of ICT competence was constructed to support the students' e-NIE activities. An ICT competence evaluating questionaire was made to confirm the result of the e-NIE activities and the evaluation and the analysis were performed before and after the e-NIE activities. The result shows that the e-NIE activities can enhance elementary students' ICT competence.

  • 다목적댐의 레크레이션 편익은 수자원 관리 측면에서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 그러나, 레크레이션 편익의 중요성에도 불구하고 이에 대한 충분한 고려없이 댐의 관리와 다목적댐에 대한 평가가 이루어진 결과 경쟁적인 물의 용도간 부적정한 유량배분의 결과를 초래하고 있었다. 최근 비록 시범적이지만 하천의 환경개선을 위해 다목적댐의 flusing 방류가 이루어지고 잇는 점도 댐의 기능이 점차 확장되어 가고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 다목적댐의 레크레이션 편익에 대한 인식은 효율적인 수자원 관리뿐만 아니라 레크레이션 이외의 다목적댐의 다른 용도의 진실된 가치 및 효율성을 확보하기 위해 어떻게 효율적으로 시간의 흐름에 따라 다목적댐의 저수(貯水)가 방류되어야 하는지에 대한 이해로 연결된다. 다목적댐의 레크레이션 편익 측정은 댐의 역할에 대한 진정한 평가가 될 수 있으며 그동안 간과되어 왔던 댐 건설로 인해 가능하게 된 레크레이션 기회를 가치화하는 시도가 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 조건부가치측정법(Contingent Valuation Method, CVM)을 이용하여 서울과 춘천지역을 대상으로 표본에 대한 설문조사와 함께 집중그룹인터뷰(Focus Group Interview, FGI)를 통해 소양강댐의 레크레이션 편익을 측정하였다. 서울은 소양강댐의 하류지역에 위치하면서 일반적으로 소양강댐의 건설로 인해 가장 큰 혜택을 누리는 지역이며 춘천지역은 소양강댐의 주변지역으로 소양강댐의 건설로 인해 가장 많은 피해를 입는 지역으로 여겨지고 있어 양 지역에서 느끼는 소양강댐에 대한 인식은 매우 독특할 것이라는 기대와 함께 댐으로 인한 레크레이션은 댐 저수지뿐만 아니라 댐 하류 하천 전체에 걸쳐 이루어지기 때문에 댐 저수지 지역인 춘천과 댐 하류지역인 서울을 대상지역으로 삼았다. 4개의 시나리오를 적용한 결과 소양강댐의 연간 레크레이션 편익은 235억원$\sim$913억원으로 추정되어 소양강댐의 주요 기능인 용수공급이나 발전에 따른 편익과 비교할 때도 결코 작지 않은 편익을 보여주고 있다. 아울러, 일반적으로 댐 건설로 인한 피해자로 인식되고 있는 하천의 상류지역인 댐 주변지역에 거주하는 사람들의 지불의사액(Willingness to Pay, WTP)이 댐의 수혜자로 인식되는 하류지역에 거주하는 사람들의 WTP보다 크다는 것과 댐 주변지역에 거주하는 사람들은 댐에 대하여 양 극단적인 태도, 즉 강한 애착과 강한 반감을 함께 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 레크레이션 기능이 댐의 주요 기능으로 고려되어야 하는 가에 대한 해답을 줄 수 있는데, 그동안 댐의 레크레이션 편익 측정을 어렵게 하였던 댐의 레크레이션 편익의 개념화를 통해 편익이 측정 가능하며 소양강댐의 경우 다른 목적의 물 사용 용도보다 편익이 클 수 있기 때문에 향후 다목적댐의 주요 기능을 확장할 필요성을 보여준다. 또한, 레크레이션 편익을 어떻게 내재화(內在化)하여야 하는지에 대한 향후 연구의 필요성도 제기한다.

Development and Application of $21^{st}$ Century Scientific Literacy Evaluation Framework on Korean High School Science Text Books (21세기 과학적 소양 평가기준 개발 및 교과서 내용 분석에의 적용)

  • We developed $21^{st}$ century scientific literacy assessment instrument and applied it to explore the contents of seven Korean science textbooks. The $21^{st}$ century scientific literacy assessment instrument involved three dimensions (habits of mind, character and values, science as human endeavor). Each dimension consists of three sub-dimensions. Five science education experts assessed the content of textbook using criteria. We discussed issues in which the examiners responses did not match and reached an agreement on initial disagreement. As a result, we found that most Korean textbook contained contents on habits of mind, especially, communication, collaboration, and information management. We also found that most materials lacked information about character and values and science as human endeavor. Based on the result, we suggest that researchers and science educators need to consider all dimensions of the $21^{st}$ century scientific literacy when they develop curriculum and teaching materials. In addition, the rubric for $21^{st}$ century scientific literacy can be adopted as an assessment tool for examining curriculum, teaching materials.

Analysis of Perception and Needs of Elementary School teachers on Computer and Information Literacy Education (컴퓨터·정보 소양 교육에 관한 초등학교 교사의 인식 및 요구 분석)

  • This research aims to investigate elementary school teacher's perception and needs of computer and information literacy education to provide basic materials so that computer and information literacy education converges with related subject and can be done in various educational contexts. In order to achieve the goal for this research, we conducted an online questionnaire survey on the current status of teachers, the perception and status of convergence education for computer and information literacy, and the needs for convergence education for computer and information literacy. As a result of the analysis, when the teacher majored in computer and information education or had experience in software education, the percentage of respondents who said that it is possible to converge for computer and information literacy is high. Also, It was found that the burden of following the class progress according to the curriculum was high. In the school environment, preparation for software tool was found to be insufficient. we suggested the strategic implications in terms of education direction, teacher training, education program, and learning tool based on the analysis results.

  • Recently, students have raised negative awareness of the test because of school records and irrational difficulty level of the College Scholastic Ability Test. They go so far as to commit suicide because of failure in entering school. It becomes a social problem and it is rising more and more interested in entering school. The educational game was created based on considering this social environment. Namely, students can enter university as playing online or mobile game through Enter Literacy Assessment game service. The Enter Literacy Assessment game service provides various tests which are math, english, science or essay that real university wants through online or mobile game. For this, general concept about Enter Literacy Assessment game service and characteristic establishment and limitation of existing research should be understood. The research refers to relationship between Self-Determination Theory which is the representative theory related with psychological desire of human intrinsic and Enter Literacy Assessment game service. Therefore, development of Enter Literacy assessment Serious Game is a new opportunity factor to take two dominants which are secure of university competitive power and excellent personnel and challenge for development of serious game.
