A Study on Stability Analysis of Large Underground Limestone Openings considering Excavation Damaged Zone (굴착손상영역을 고려한 대형 석회석 갱내채광장의 안정성 분석 연구)

  • Investigation for rock joints, inspection for rock core, and laboratory tests for rock specimens, in this study, have been performed for identification of the extent and properties of Excavation Damaged Zone in a underground limestone mine, which plans to enlarge the size of openings to improve the production rate. Properties of EDZ and surrounding rock masses have been used numerically for discontinuum analysis, and it is concluded that the effect of EDZ can be increased with increasing the opening size and a blasting pattern of high precision can be suggested for the counterplan.

  • 사출성형은 열가소성수지의 가공법으로써 정밀도나 고품질의 제품을 효과적으로 생산하는데 널리 이용되며 플라스틱은 현재 광범위하게 사용되고 있는 공업재료 중의 하나이다. 과거에는 플라스틱을 일회용품 및 외장재로 사용하였다. 그러나 산업기술이 발전하며 플라스틱은 금속을 대체 할 수 있는 재료로서 사용할 수 있다는 인식의 변화로 점차 기계요소용 재료로 사용되고 있으며 기계요소용 재료로 사용됨에 따라 플라스틱 제품이 정밀한 부품으로 사용되기 위해서는 금형의 가공뿐만 아니라 사출성형 시 용융수지가 금형의 각 캐비티에 균형적으로 충전되는것이 요구된다. 이러한 요구조건을 만족하기 위해서는 각 캐비티의 가공치수는 매우 높은 정밀도를 유지해야 하며, 각 캐비티에서의 충전과 냉각도 동일한 상태를 유지해야 한다. 충전 불균형은 성형품의 품질에 큰 저해 요인으로서 플라스틱 제품의 치수성, 밀도, 외관품질, 강도 등에 불균일한 결과를 가져오는 요인으로 지적되고 있다. 실제로 충전 불균형은 충전 단계에서 런너 내에서 발생하는 불균일한 전단분포에 기인하여 발생되므로 점도변화에 영향을 주는 수지의 물성, 런너의 배열과 같은 외부 요인과 사출압력, 사출속도, 수지온도, 금형온도와 같은 성형공정 조건에 의한 요인에 의한 충전 불균형의 양상이 달라지게 된다. 본 연구는 다수 캐비티 금형에서 충전 불균형 현상에 대한 원인을 검토하고 실제로 사출성형을 실시하기 전 사출성형해석 소프트웨어를 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 하여 다수 캐비티에 대한 충전 패턴을 미리 예측하여 보았다.

An Analysis of Noise Robustness for Multilayer Perceptrons and Its Improvements (다층퍼셉트론의 잡음 강건성 분석 및 향상 방법)

  • In this paper, we analyse the noise robustness of MLPs(Multilayer perceptrons) through deriving the probability density function(p.d.f.) of output nodes with additive input noises and the misclassification ratio with the integral form of the p.d.f. functions. Also, we propose linear preprocessing methods to improve the noise robustness. As a preprocessing stage of MLPs, we consider ICA(independent component analysis) and PCA(principle component analysis). After analyzing the noise reduction effect using PCA or ICA in the viewpoints of SNR(Singal-to-Noise Ratio), we verify the preprocessing effects through the simulations of handwritten-digit recognition problems.

  • The goal of the sound-based mechanical fault diagnosis technique is to automatically find abnormal signals in the machine using acoustic emission. Conventional methods of using mathematical models have been found to be inaccurate due to the complexity of industrial mechanical systems and the existence of nonlinear factors such as noise. Therefore, any fault diagnosis issue can be treated as a pattern recognition problem. We propose an automatic fault diagnosis method using discrete wavelet transform and power spectrum density using multi pattern recognition. First, we perform DWT-based filtering analysis for noise cancelling and effective feature extraction. Next, the power spectral density(PSD) is performed on each subband of the DWT in order to effectively extract feature vectors of sound. Finally, each PSD data is extracted with the features of the classifier using multi pattern recognition. The results show that the proposed method can not only be used effectively to detect faults as well as apply to various automatic diagnosis system based on sound.

  • We propose a fast and powerful Question-answering (QA) system in Korean, which uses a predictive answer indexer based on 2-pass scoring method. The indexing process is as follows. The predictive answer indexer first extracts all answer candidates in a document. Then, using 2-pass scoring method, it gives scores to the adjacent content words that are closely related with each answer candidate. Next, it stores the weighted content words with each candidate into a database. Using this technique, along with a complementary analysis of questions which is based on lexico-syntactic pattern matching method, the proposed QA system saves response time and enhances the precision.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze a correlation between lithology, rock physical property and fracture zone by multiple-logging method, which includes optic borehole image, suspension type PS, resistivity, SP, natural gamma, density, caliper logging located in Ogar test area, Changsu, Pocheon-gun, Gyunggi Province. The outstanding geophysical logging responses particularly shown from lithology pattern, fracture zone, dike zone. in result, the depth of fracture zone which enable groundwater flow estimated at $67{\sim}69m$.

  • In need of studies on the kinds and structure of thread, the biggest variable factor in knitwear patterns, this study attempts: to examine the physical properties by thread type to basically establish systematic data in order to utilize various mixture and structure of yarn and to contribute to the development of optical patterns by building a systemic and scientific methods to produce knit wear patterns though a statistical analysis of the relation between the variations and physical properties. The results is as follows: with time, a feature of knit, which causes instability making it difficult to maintain the original shape, related to material properties, the weight and expansibility recovery rate have the greatest influence on the variation of wale lengths, though the amount varies by material. The variation of course contraction is closely related to density, the dense fabrics showing the highest values, due to the bust of the human body, the wale length variation of the front is greater than that of the back, by a regression analysis of material properties and the variations is obtained showing the weight, density and expansibility recovery rate have the greatest influence on the wale extension and course contraction of knit.

  • Single beam echo sounding was used to delineate bathymetry sea bottom in the area of hydrography and marine navigation. This research was aimed at measuring the thickness of floating silty clay sediment with dual frequencies echo sounding system. There occur discrepancies in penetrating depth through sea beds between high frequency(200 KHz) and low(33 KHz) frequency. RI density logging was employed to characterize the floating silty clay sediment of Guangyang bay, which was chosen to investigate the proposed site for reclamation field. The volume of floating silty clay sediment was used to design by estimating size of reclamation site. The estimation strategies developed in this study will be readily applicable to measure the Pattern of sedimentation via regular hydrographic survey in the future.

  • In this paper, a microstrip patch antenna with arrow and ribbon shape for WLAN was designed and manufactured. The antenna was designed on a FR-4 substrate that has a thickness of 0.8mm and a dielectric constant of 4.4. The substrate size is $50{\times}40mm^2$. A commercially available tool was used for simulation to get the optimized parameters and the optimized values were obtained by finding the parameters that act sensitively to the performance of the antenna. The proposed antenna was produced using the optimized values, and characteristics of return loss, gain and radiation pattern in WLAN bands were measured.

  • In this paper, we propose an error estimation method based on the Bhattacharyya distance for multimodal data. First, we try to find the empirical relationship between the classification error and the Bhattacharyya distance. Then, we investigate the possibility to derive the error estimation equation based on the Bhattacharyya distance for multimodal data. We assume that the distribution of multimodal data can be approximated as a mixture of several Gaussian distributions. Experimental results with remotely sensed data showed that there exist strong relationships between the Bhattacharyya distance and the classification error and that it is possible to predict the classification error using the Bhattacharyya distance for multimodal data.
