  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the generality and applicability of Team-Based Learning model in a technical high school, based on the interviews with students and a teacher. Team-Based Learning model seems to be an effective way in improving the performance of groups as well as the individualized learning and team interaction. We applied a formative research method and identified the strengths of the model including learners' motivation and interests, learner-centered learning, self-efficacy through learning in advance, and concept acquisition from the repetitive learning process. However, we also found the weakness of the model including impracticality of instructional design, a lack of field-oriented problem banks, and needs for identifying learner characteristics and role in instruction. Finally, we analyzed the implications for the Team-Based Learning in the technical high schools in light of team formation, discussion types, active participation, and learners' prior knowledge and attitude, and pre-determined instructional design.

  • This sturdy examined the effectiveness of Team-Based Learning(TBL) program according to learning attitude, learning motivation and self-directed learning of nursing students learning the anatomy. A 12week TBL program which they were made small group as 6-7 students aimed at anatomy aspects was given 145 freshmen. A triangulation that quantitative Research used paired t-test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient by SPSS WIN 18.0 and qualitative research was conducted content analysis. Through this subject, significant improvement was found in learning motivation(t=-2.97, p<.003) and self-directed learning(t=-2.40, p<.018). There was a significant positive correlation. TBL is useful teaching and learning method on nursing students. We suggest that it is needed to measure the educational effects of TBL against other subjects.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze class satisfaction with peer evaluation in Collaborative Learning-based classes. For collaborative learning-based classes, problem-based learning and project-based learning were selected. Educational implications were derived by designing Instructional procedures of Collaborative Learning-based classes, Peer evaluation types and questionnaire design, Peer evaluation progress of Collaborative Learning-based classes, Class satisfaction research and analysis In Collaborative Learning-based classes. The subjects of the study were participants in Collaborative Learning-based classes selected as problem-based learning and project-based classes. For class satisfaction with peer evaluation in Collaborative Learning-based classes, a survey was conducted on 168 participants A University in Korea. The research tool was designed as Learning procedures for peer evaluation Collaborative Learning-based classes is Team Building, Plan to the Task, To do Task, Mid-check on task, Task completion, Presentation & Evaluation, Reflection & Self-Evaluation. The content validity of items was confirmed by CVR of 12 experts. In the research results, the average class satisfaction of peer evaluation is 4.05(SD=91), followed by class concentration, diligence, voluntary, learning atmosphere. As a result of t-testing the difference in class type between collaborate learning-based classes, the satisfaction of PBL was higher than that of PjBL and a statistically significant difference was observed. The result of this study have significance in providing implications for class design and operation for the application and expansion of peer evaluation in higher education. However, there is a limit to generalization as a result of research using convenience.

  • The goal of this study is to assess the effects of Scratch programming classes on preservice teachers by using computational thinking and cognitive evaluations based on Bloom's taxonomy. To pursue this research goal we measured preservice teachers' programming skills using cognitive evaluation items based on Bloom's taxonomy after preservice teachers took one-semester Scratch programming course. In addition, a survey focused on computational thinking (CT) concepts, CT practices, and CT perspectives was conducted. We also conducted artifact-based interviews to unpack preservice teachers' experiences of working on team projects and analyzed their experiences qualitatively. The results of this study are meaningful because we assessed preservice teachers' experiences comprehensively with both quantitative and qualitative methods. In addition, this study provides us with implications for evaluation perspectives in designing programming courses for preservice teachers by adopting Bloom's taxonomy scheme.

  • This study was performed to develop and evaluate the effects of Team-Based Learning(TBL) on cardiac problem in adult nursing. The study measured problem-solving ability, critical thinking disposition, academic achievement and, class satisfaction for learning outcomes of course. Pretest-posttest design with nonequivalent control group was utilized to analyze the effects of TBL. Experimental group and control group each consisting of 52, 54 participants was picked from the junior students. The experimental group was given the TBL for 6 hours and control group was given a lecture and case-based announcement class. In results, significant improvements were found in problem-solving ability(F=5.92, p=.017), and class satisfaction(F=5.80, p=.018). Critical thinking disposition and academic achievement of experimental group were improved than those of control group, but there were not statistically significant difference.

  • The aim of this study is to explore the educational experience of nursing students after designing an action learning class suitable for basic nursing science class and applying it. A total 100 freshmen nursing students taking a basic nursing science class of K university in S city participated in this study. Data was collected from May 2019 to June 2020. The action learning class consisted of 5-6 people per team, a total of 9 teams, reflection diaries were collected and analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method of Krippendorff (2004). The analysis produced 45 significant statements in total, 8 themes and 4 categries for the experience of basic nursing science class based on action learning. The 4 categories were 'confidence in anatomy', 'growing teamwork', 'learned how to study', 'difficulties in the process'. The action learning applied class was found to be effective in problem-solving ability, teamwork, and self-directed learning. Therefore, it is proposed to evaluate the effect of action learning in other nursing subjects as well.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop convergence major-based learning (CMBL), which selects performance tasks related to local problems at hand and solves them based on convergence major performance, and builds a suitable teaching and learning model. We developed a CMBL class with a team project-type class that finds and solves practical problems in the region to cultivate overall problem-solving capabilities for convergence major competencies. Additionally, for this class, the instructor played a role as a bridgehead to explore and connect the community's sites, and students visited connected institutions in person to identify problems they need based on understanding and empathy for the subjects through field observation and qualitative interviews, and developed a CMBL class teaching and learning model necessary to directly solve them by using their major capabilities to the fullest. Therefore, we intend to present the future-oriented direction of university convergence education required by the community by forming a group of students with various majors to cultivate the ability to solve realistic problems in the community.

  • This study aimed to develop SSTPBL (Student-led Simulation with Team and Problem-Based Learning), whichcombines TBL and PBL with a student-led method to strengthen knowledge application, nursing diagnosis ability, and collaboration ability among the core competencies of nurses. Then, SSTPBL was applied to nursing students, and the results were assessed. The data was collected from September 15, 2022, to December 21, 2022, with structured questionnaires and focus group interviews with 51 fourth-year nursing students at a university in A City. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0 and topic analysis. As a results, it was effective in simulation experience satisfaction(t = 3.51, p < .01), vSim experience satisfaction(t = 3.50, p < .01), preparation as a prospective nurse(t = 3.73, p < .01), learning self-efficacy(t = 3.87, p < .01), collaborative self-efficacy (t = 4.30, p < .01), problem-solving ability(t = 5.26, p < .01), educational satisfaction(t = 3.54, p < .01), digital health equity(t = 2.18, p < .05). Through the qualitative data's topic analysis, six main topics were derived. The main topics were 'similar to clinical practice', 'difficulty in immersion', 'learning through others', 'learning through self-reflection', 'improving confidence through new experiences' and 'new teaching methods'. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that SSTPBL can be used in various ways as a new training method for prospective nurses in the face of growing clinical practice restrictions after the pandemic.
