A Comparative Study of Transverse Cylindrical Projection Functions by A Series of Numerical Simulations (수치시험을 통한 횡원통 상사 투영함수 비교 연구)

  • The transverse cylindrical projection has been used in Korea since 1910s when the nationwide geodetic network was firstly established. However, the projection has a number of different types of functions according to a way of its mathematical derivation as well as a section of its coefficients and terms, for instance Gauss- Schreiber(GS) and Gauss-Kruger(GK) types. Although the transverse cylindrical projection itself is assigned to a system, projected coordinates would be diverse with respect to the function used in the actual calculation. In order to investigate impact of functions used in the computation, five different equations (i.e., 2 GS and 3 GK) were implemented in this study by using MATLAB. A series of numerical simulation tests has been carried out to compare and characterize them in terms of projection accuracy, difference of projected coordinates and distortion. Furthermore, a comparison between GS and GK function was made under the Korean gridding system, consisting of four zones. Results from the numerical computations were qualitatively analyzed and summarized in this paper.

Prediction for Rotor Aerodynamics of Quadcopter Type Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Considering Gust and Flight Conditions (비행 조건의 영향을 고려한 쿼드콥터형 무인비행체의 로터 공력 특성 예측)

  • This paper aims to predict the aerodynamic characteristics of individual rotor for the gust and flight conditions. Transformation procedure into the wind frame is conducted to analyze the gust. Hover, forward, and climb flight conditions of an individual rotor are analyzed using the blade element momentum theory (BEMT) considering the rigid blade flapping motion. XFOIL is used to derive aerodynamic results. Validation for hover, forward flight, and climb conditions are conducted using the present BEMT. In addition, a static experimental environment is constructed. The experimental results and the present BEMT are compared and verified.

Studies of Interface Continuity in Isogeometric Structural Analysis for Multi-patch Shell Components (다중 패치 쉘 아이소 지오메트릭 해석의 계면 연속성 검토)

  • This paper presents the assembling of multiple patches based on the single patch isogeometric formulation for the shear deformable shell element given in the previous study. The geometrically exact shell formulation has been accomplished with the shell theory based formulation and the generalized curvilinear coordinate system directly derived from the given NURBS geometry. For the knot elements matching across adjacent surfaces, the zero-th and first parametric continuity conditions are considered and the corresponding coupling constraints are implemented by a master-slave formulation between adjacent patches. The constraints are then enforced by a substitution method for condensation of the slave variables, thereby reducing the model size. Through numerical investigations, the important features of the first parametric continuity condition are confirmed. The performance of the multi-patch shell models is also examined comparing the rate of convergence of response coefficients for the zero and first order continuity conditions and continuity in coupling boundary between two patches is confirmed.

북한 예성강 유역의 수문분석을 위한 GIS/RS의 활용에 관한 연구

  • 최근 정부의 적극적인 지원으로 남북한 교류사업이 본격적으로 추진되고 있고, 통일에 대한 기대감이 높아가고 있는 지금 어느때보다 북한에 내한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 그동안 북한과 관련된 인구는 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화 등 인문${\cdot}$사회과학분야가 대부분을 차지하였고, 자연과학 및 공학 대한 연구는 상대적으로 빈약한 실정이다(배덕효, 1999). 특히 수자원 관련분야는 최근 몇몇 학자들이 원격탐사 기법을 이용하여 연구를 수행한 바 있으나 그 결과는 매우 미비할 실정이다. 북한은 유역탐사 및 샘플채취 등을 위한 접근자체가 어렵기 때문에 자료의 수집 및 보정에 있어 많은 어려움이 따른다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지금까지 문헌을 통해서만 소개된 북한지역의 유역특성에 따른 수자원 현황을 분석하기 위해 인공위성자료와 지형자료를 이용한 원격탐사(RS:Remote Sensing) 및 지리정보시스템(GIS:Geographic Information System) 기법을 이용하여 유역의 유출특성을 파악하였다. 대상유역으로 선정한 북한 예성강 유역은 수자원이 풍부하고 유역경사가 비교적 완만하게 구성되어 있다. 또한 용수이용에 있어서도 양수장을 이용하여 관개배수를 시행하는 북한지역의 일반적인 사례와는 달리 신곡저수지, 예의 저수지 등 대규모 저수지를 통한 관개를 시행하고 있어 남한유역과 유사한 점이 많기 때문에 적용에 있어 큰 무리가 없을 것이라 판단하였다. 지형자료 구축을 위한 인공위성 자료는 USGS(US Geological Survey) DEM(Digital Elevation Model) 자료를 이용하였으며, 이를 UTM(Universal Transverse Mercatro) 지구좌표계의 DEM 자료로 변환하였다. 또한 유역의 고도차를 이용한 흐름특성 분석을 위해 수치고도자료를 이용하여 유역흐름특성을 분석할 수 있는 TOPAZ(Topographic PArameteri-Zation) 프로그램을 이용하였다. TOPAZ 프로그램을 통해 분석된 각 격자별 분포형 수문 매개변수는 적합한 관계식을 통해 분포형 유출량을 모의하는데 적용된다.

  • The characteristics of ship induced waves caused by navigation become widely different from both ship's speed and water depth condition. The ship induced waves specially generated in coastwise routes frequently give rise to call unforeseen danger for swimmers and small boats as well as shoreline erosion or sea wall destruction in coastal zones. The main concern of ship induced wave study until now is either how to reduce ship resistance or how to manoeuvre the ship safely under a constant water depth in the view point of shipbuilding engineers. Moreover, due to the trends for appearance of the high speed ships at the shallow coastal water, we are confronted with the danger of damages from those ship induced waves. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the development of ship induced waves and the influence of their deformation effects according to its propagation ray. In present study, in order to predict the development of the ship induced waves and their propagation under the conditions of complicate and variable shallow water depth with varying ship's speed, we constructed a computer model using Boussinesq equation with a fixed coordinate system and verified the model results by comparison with experimental results. Additionally, the model was applied under the variable water depth based on actual passage and we then confirmed the importance of the variable water depth consideration.

Photoluminescence properties of oxy-fluoride glass-ceramics of La2O3-CaF2-Al2O3-SiO2 system (La2O3-CaF2-Al2O3-SiO2 계 oxy-fluoride 결정화 유리의 광 발광 특성)

  • The change of the photoluminescence properties of La2O3-CaF2-Al2O3-SiO2 glass-ceramics doped with rare earth material, that is used as laser and optical sensors, was analyzed according to heat treatment temperature. The heat treatment conditions for fabricating glass-ceramics were obtained through non-isothermal thermal analysis, and X-ray diffraction analysis was performed to determine the degree of crystal growth and kinds of crystal phases generated according to the heat treatment temperature. Using Scherrer's equation, it was predicted that crystals with a size of 25~40 nm would be generated inside the glass-ceramics. Photoluminescence (PL) analysis showed that the specimens heat-treated at 660℃ to 670℃ for 1 hour had the highest PL intensity. Also, from the CIE color coordinate analysis, all glass-ceramics specimens emitted red-orange light regardless of the heat treatment condition.

Identification of shear layer at river confluence using (RGB) aerial imagery (RGB 항공 영상을 이용한 하천 합류부 전단층 추출법)

  • River confluence is often characterized by shear layer and the associated strong mixing. In natural rivers, the main channel and its tributary can be separated by the shear layer using contrasting colors. The shear layer can be easily observed using aerial images from satellite or unmanned aerial vehicles. This study proposes a low-cost identification method extracting geographic features of the shear layer using RGB aerial image. The method consists of three stages. At first, in order to identify the shear layer, it performs image segmentation using a Gaussian mixture model and extracts the water bodies of the main channel and tributary. Next, the self-organizing map simplifies the flow line of the water bodies into the 1-dimensional curve grid. After that, the curvilinear coordinate transformation is performed using the water body pixels and the curve grid. As a result, the shear layer identification method was successfully applied to the confluence between Nakdong River and Nam River to extract geometric shear layer features (confluence angle, upstream- and downstream- channel widths, shear layer length, maximum shear layer thickness).

  • In this paper, we presents a robust adaptive control system design method in the work coordinate of the robot arm for conveyor tracking. In the design, if the weighting function $L_K$ is smaller than the design parameter then the transient characteristics of system becomes stable, if $L_K$ is larger than then the system becomes unstable. Proposed design method presented here is based on model referenece adaptive control and Popov stability theorem. By the utiliza/tion of an auxilary input, it is improved the transent characteristics of the system in comparison with the conventional model reference adptive control, since the rate of V and V(t) is large. The usefulness of a proposed design method has been confirmed by computer simulations.

  • 계통 연계형 시스템에서 왜곡된 입력전압에 대해서 기본파 전압의 크기, 주파수, 위상 등을 정확히 추종함으로써 계통과 시스템 간의 빠르고 정확한 동기화 과정은 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 불평형 및 고조파를 포함한 3상 전압 조건에서 기본파 성분의 위상 추출을 위한 두 가지 기법인 Time Delay PLL과 MDSOGI PLL기법을 Matlab Simulink를 통해 모델링하고 비교 분석 하였다. 동기좌표계에서 발생되는 고조파 성분의 영향을 저감시키는 효과를 확인하고 그 특성을 비교하였다.

Stiffness and Damping Characteristics of Herringbone Grooved Air Journal Bearings (헤링본 공기 저널 베어링의 강성 및 감쇠 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the stiffness and damping coefficients of herringbone grooved air journal bearings are studied. A generalized coordinate transformation method to handle the complex geometry of incompressible fluid bearing is modified for compressible fluid. The modified equations are discretized by the base of finite difference method. A new computer program using Visual C++ language is developed. The load carrying capacity and stiffness and damping coefficients are calculated according to the design parameters like groove depth or the number of grooves and compared to that of plain air journal bearings.
